  • my 92 s10 with a built Camaro v6, comp cams high energy 264h and comp cams 1.6 roller rockers. coupled to a t5 tranny. sorry about the compressor kicking in, that is NOT my fuel pump, id be concerned if it was. It does has TRUE dual straights and it is still throttle body injected and the o2 sensor does not seem to notice only half the exhaust flowing through it now and I don't even have a check engine light on and she runs great! true duals are very loud though!

    So many people have no idea what these motors can be. They made a 3.1L turbo intercooled version of this motor for the early 90s grand prix and they where badass. Not to mention they are bullet proof. Only issue with all of them is the upper and lower intake gaskets Go bad and they will start puking oil everywhere

    coming from a v8 or die guy.... I give the greatest credit because I see all these post about how all these v8 guys put an exhaust and intake on their rides and call it a street pounder. you've put true work into this engine and I would love to see it pound on some stock v8 wanna be jokes. great job!

      thank you I appreciate it! these motors are so light the power to weight ratio is amazing and these 60 degree v6s have a lot of potential, but people throw them away for a v8 without thinking twice.

    Will a stock 3.1 bolt right up to an s10 T5 trans housing, or are there aftermarket adapter housings?

      Assuming you have a 2.8 you'd be better off with a 3.4 from a camaro.

    Anyone here know if I can slap a 1st s10 2.8 intake on a 2003 3.1? Or if I can swap the heads and intake for a beater engine?

      doublethreat07 well... after doing a bit of research I came to find out there’s no performance parts for it. So, I just “freshened” her up with a heads and a cam. It runs well now but isn’t much to write home about. After a bit of an expensive disappointment with the outcome, I am doing a 4.9L 300 l 6. In my f 150

  • @Spirit_Lanayru
    @Spirit_Lanayru 3 года назад +1

    Planning on making a very large go kart with my 2.8 that'll come out when I get a 350. Would the cam you have in this work out? I've heard that various 3.1 mods will bolt on to the 2.8 blocks. What's the redline like on this?

    • @MetalAnimeGuy
      @MetalAnimeGuy 3 года назад +1

      2.8 and 3.1 are the same mostly. 3.4 from a early 90s camaro too.

    • @MetalAnimeGuy
      @MetalAnimeGuy 3 года назад +1

      Comp cams has a 252/425 and a 260/440 available. A stock camaro 3.4 cam is a little better than the 2.8 cam.

    • @ethanbrazee4488

      it is fuel injection, throttle body injection.

      ooooh ok, it just looked carbed to me because of the big air filter plus the 3.1 in my beretta looks a little different lol

    • @ethanbrazee4488
      @ethanbrazee4488  7 лет назад +1

      Masen ya it had multi port injection on it and I converted it over to throttle body injection which is basically a two barrel carb with two injectors spraying fuel and the throttle blades.

      I am in the process of building a 3.4 Camaro engine for my 85. s-10 blazer. you have to swap all the external parts from a 2.8 to make it fit. mine will be calibrated. I will have to install an electric fuel pump because the v-6s after 1986 had no provision for a mechanical pump

    • @ethanbrazee4488
      @ethanbrazee4488  8 лет назад

      thanks for the tip. it was running on five cylinders due to bad plugs and the tps sensor was bad so it was running a bit rough. I've been meaning to put glasspacks on since I don't care for the crackle vs a good rumble just not warm enough outside yet to do it.
