- 1992 chevy s10 with a 383 stroker V8, hedman elite shorty headers, comp xe268h hydraulic flat tappet cam, racing head service aluminum heads. Waiting for spintech mufflers to arrive before getting the exhaust done. This project is finally almost finished after starting the engine build back in october....and yes i know it needs a paint job....

Exactly. This is how you build a badass vehicle: worry about the drivetrain. A paintjob won't help you with power. Just like those big rims. All they do is create wind resistance and more weight. Get small rims and wide, thick tires. That will give you traction, not 100lb rims with tires that will be gone after the first burn out. If you are going to build a badass car, build a badass car. Don't worry about making it look badass.

Agreed! This is in the category of "RAT ROD" Rat rods are badass under the hood but lack the "paint job". Enthusiasts are the only ones that understand what I mean. People who are only more concerned about the paint job and the "look" of going fast are just posers. What cracks me up are those people with mustangs and camaros with V6 engines and have the aftermarket mufflers and wheels to make the car look and sound fast but true enthusiast know the difference. Why dump the money in those cars?!? start with a V8 and slap an aftermarket muffler on it instead lol...This guy is a true enthusiast and knows exactly what he was doing. Be proud of the peeling and chipped paint, its faster that the guy with the shiny mustang with the flowmaster attached to the v6! lol..Good job and a TRUE RAT ROD!
depends on which traction you want. thick sidewall tires will give straight line traction, but will make the car wallow and learn hard in turns, and even slide out. thin sidewall tires will flex less and give you better cornering. not everyone wants to go straight.
go fast or run pump gas. around here we have learned s-10/ s-15 trucks are heavy. I know I had a 4 cyclinder truck from the factory. I sold it off and got a 1800 pound car. no body in Kentucky respects s-10/ s 15 trucks because we know they are heavy every place but the rear end. smoke them tires.

Hide the gauges and quiet down the exhaust and put cut-outs on it. Then it will be a sleeper for sure.

It's Great to see you are using an Edelbrock Carb. They really are the best. NO leaks like Holleys, and easy to maintain and adjust. I been reading up on how to use 'em for a blow thru application, it can be done and it's not that difficult.
Don't give a crap about paint either; This baby growls and hauls ass. That's what it's all about ;-)
Paint is always secondary. The motor and trans has to be on point first. I agree
modern day rat rod, I like it as is. he put it together over time with a peace here n there worked on people's cars got paid with parts or cash or help .it's a car thing some don't understand it's what we do some drink do drugs, we do cars

what all would i have to change if i was to put a 350 small block in my 95 sonoma?
Fuel rails, slightly larger radiator, compatible mounts, and a torque converter or clutch to match. You also might have to cut into the firewall a bit to fit it

What do you use for gauges, im doing a carbureted 350 swap in my 02 blazer and I need some mechanical gauges
