Tack så mycket Katrin! Your videos are very helpful and I’m beyond happy that I stumbled upon them exactly when I’ve decided to start learning Swedish again❤️
Day 2 speech is the best for me. Swedes usually don't separate words and say a whole sentence as one word. This is the most difficult part in understanding for me. So I'd better have not a very slow Swedish speech, but an English-like speech with word separation. Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful!
This is awesome! thanks! a lot of times I slow down Swedish blogs to be able to listen and understand, but it affects the quality of the audio and is not as fun. So this type of video is perfect!
Haha it's pretty funny, I say English words completely differently when speaking Swedish. Like the Swedish version of them even though they're in a different language.
Ironically I also try to say English words how I think a swede would when I’m trying to speak Swedish otherwise it would sound abrupt. But your English was so spot on that I thought You were trying to impersonate a very rich upper class posh American personality. 😄 Anyways thanks for the videos Jag vill tittar din äldst videos så jag kan lära mig mer svenska! 🙏 Tack tack!
Same! It's funny to me to hear English words in the middle of a non-English sentence but it happens all the time when I'm talking in German to my German friends (it's even funnier when I hear myself saying the English words German-style even though I'm a native English speaker). My German friend does the reverse - when she says a German word while speaking English it's Americanized.
I was so shocked when I heard the words "Ellery Beachhouse." I've never heard my name anywhere else before, and even though the name is spelled a bit differently, it definitely hit me by surprise! 😀
Nice to see you back. I like your videos but there is one thing that confuses me personally. I wonder, is it common to use so many words to say something short and simple in Sweden? 🙂 Asking this because if swed will say the same with normal speed then I do not know...
Haha! That is a good question. I think I might use more words than I usually do when I speak this slowly. I'm not completely sure though... maybe it just feels that way because I speak so slowly and I'm trying to be extra clear. I'll have to think about that the next time I speak Swedish to someone.
Vi använder outfit oftast. Det närmaste vi kommer är kanske ”utstyrsel”. Det kan funka, men det är lite närmare ”utklädnad” än ”kläder”… man kan säga ”det här är min utstyrsel för dagen”.
I duno if this is a dumb question, but do Swedish people speak English words like u have in this video because there isn’t a Swedish word?. For example your Hollywood sentence you spoke about the red carpet ?. Most of it was in English?.
I think there are Swedish words for a lot of it… but we do mix Swedish and English a lot because for example “Hollywood glam red carpet” isn’t exactly something we do in Sweden. It comes from the US and that’s what we want to “pretend” that we’re doing. 😅 I could say it in Swedish “Hollywood glamour röda mattan” but… most Swedes would just say it in English. ☺️
I really find this style of "lesson" so easy to follow for learning Swedish!
I’m glad to hear that 😃
Tack för undertexterna. Det hjälper mig mycket.
So beautiful with the sparkling ensemble on! You were so tired but still were filming for us!!! I appreciate that! Thank you!

Yes that is the most difficult thing about understanding! When words are merged and cut off.
Thank you!!

Du är vacker 😍🇸🇪
I love this and I think it would be awesome if you sometimes record normal Swedish (not easy or slow) but still with subtitles❤
tack så mycket!!

This what I meant for example: "före det är dags för middag". Could it be just "före middag"? I started studing swedish recently so I'm just curious.

Jag undrar, har ni ett ord för "outfit"? "utsikt"? "syn"? Fungerar de inte?
