Hey this is beautiful work my friend. Just came here from Chrissys recommendation. Easy sub! Cheers mate ^_^
Thanks again Rabbit Black
love the sky and also your advise to leave it alone, as i often over-do and add too much paint , water, and everything else
A good dose of neglect can work wonders on a painting sometimes
Colin I love your videos. Very helpful and great explanations about watercolor. How did you feel the 90lb paper held up to the amount of water you used? Did it wave or buckle at all? How do you stretch your paper? Thanks in advance. I love the mist effect between the two rows of trees. Lovely!
thank you Richard glad you enjoyed it,the paper holds up great for 90lb ive got to say it even surprised me lol.I dont normally paint on that weight to be honest,I like 140lb or above. Its Windsor @ Newton paper thats why i bought it.It handled all the re wetting and all the lifting out.To stretch my paper i wet both sides with a big flat brush then dry the brush until it is damp and then remove excess water of the surface with the damp brush leaving just a thin film of water on the surface.(hope that helps Richard)
Colin Walters that is indeed helpful. One more question. Do you tape down your paper after you have wet it on both sides? If so how do you get the tape to stick? Or what kind of board is your paper sitting on? Sorry for all the questions but the answers do help us beginners.
No i dont tape it air pressure will keep it stuck to the board and as i work down the painting you can see i use bulldog clips to stop the paper curling as it dries out
what paint are you using? it lift that yellow very easily? i have a m graham indian yellow and it stains the paper even when still wet..
Hi Daniel,Daler Rowney indian Yellow
