    Thanks for uploading this! It helped me get my car running after it broke down on the road. At first I thought I was gonna have it towed to a mechanic, so I'm super happy it only took the cost of a can of cleaner.

    I love my 2005 Toyota Taco sr-5 4x4 4.0 v6 5speed auto. 217,000 runs perfect burns no oil. 👍

      I have a 06 Tacoma V6 4.0 4x4 with 314k miles. Everything original. I do synthetic oil every 4-5k miles. It burns about 1quart every oil change. I still think is doing good.

    My 07 Taco just had it's first CE light come on (90k). Scanned it and got P0101 mass/ volume air flow sensor. I unplugged to check and she died. Thanks for the video. I'm trying this next. Keep the videos coming. Great job

    Thanks for the upload my dude. This fixed my check engine light. There was some severe dust build up on those wires. A little air in a can did the trick.

    Hey thanks for the tip. I just bought a maf sensor so now I will clean the original and hope to take the new one back.

    Thanks for this. I never even knew about this sensor. Btw, check your tire pressures. Or perhaps you need New tire pressure sensors.

    Just did mine on my 2014 and it was super easy! But I did go a day with the MAF not sitting on there completely flush so had to go back and take it apart and wiggle it on there like you showed in the vid and it went on flush. Thanks!

    What about an airbag light? The reader says it is the clock spring. Is it safe to do it myself or pay the $700? 2007 Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport.

    I went to get my light engine light check and it showed the throttle body, mass airflow sensor and idle speed control motor, so I just check videos to DIY the first 2 items I hope I can get it done right before I go and pay over $300 just to get clean instead of replacing 😑

    You DO NOT want to lose those screws !! Toyota does NOT include them with the part as they should and they are crap and the head gets messed up really easy !

    • @bogotabro
      @bogotabro 2 года назад

      No shit. I stripped out the bottom one trying to get it off. Had to break off the plastic piece it screws in to on the housing to get it out, then superglued it back on. Pain in the ass.

    I was under assumption you should really only clean if necessary, why would one clean it?

      They tend to get dirty over time and can cause running issues and/or lower mpg

  • @geoestrada5001

    Sometimes it’s better replaced this sensor it’s just $70 dollars by Napa original parts Hitachi, no problem

    • @412garage3
      @412garage3  Год назад +3

      My napa has them for $85, but they are from a aftermarket Chinese manufacturer. Personally I think cleaning an OEM one is a better option if its still in good shape. Aftermarket Chinese parts tend to be less reliable.

      @@412garage3 I own a 2005 Tacoma extension cab manually transmission and it’s the best truck a ever had, i keep good maintenance by the dealer and recently they charged the hole new frame and many new part’s for free. You could check with dealer if your Tacoma is quality for free frame parts.

    Somebody needs to develop a tester that can tell if a MAFS is working right. Wonder how many miles that TT has on it?

    • @223bolt
      @223bolt 2 года назад

      Pretty sure some of the higher end scan tools can tell you that info. Mine is probably original to the truck so 14 years old and about 100k miles! Ive cleaned it before so thats not 14 years worth of dirt lol

    • @khoayeuha
      @khoayeuha 2 года назад +2

      Saw a clip disconnecting the connector piece to the MAF sensor when the engine is running. Your engine should shut off. That means the MAF sensor is working. If the engine still running. MAF sensor is bad, needs replacement. I tested this theory and it worked. I cleaned the MAF sensor but the check engine light turn on. After about 3 - 4 times of driving around few miles. Shutting off engine/restarting. Check engine light turned off by itself.

      @SimornM 2 года назад

      @@khoayeuha I’m currently having the p0174 code go off which means it’s the bank 2 driver side o2 sensor, should I maybe check the maf sensor first ? the code can be for a number of things

    • @khoayeuha
      @khoayeuha 2 года назад +1

      @@SimornM You can try what I did with disconnecting/connecting the MAF connector piece. That can help rule out if it is MAF sensor issue
