Love how diverse the takes were in this video. Some loved her, some didn't care, others didn't even know what was going on. A very true picture of the human race, I never had any attachment to the Queen but I do think I will miss her. The matriarch looking over Britain was definitely a positive image in my head. Strange to see a King now

We require neither matriarch nor patriarch-both sound like relics from a past that died out a long time ago.

There are very few people alive today who know a world before The Queen. Her passing is difficult because it is a tiny but completely irreplaceable part of Britain that will never be the same.
I'm 61 years old and Elizabeth was queen for my entire life. I even thought, perhaps, she would manage to go on longer than I would. I am not a British citizen but, even so, she has always been there, setting a standard and influencing the world with her dignity, her forthrightness and her wisdom. Suffice it to say, I am deeply saddened by her passing. I am certain the world will never be the same without her.
She was vampire
@@__-si9ux and you are timer bomb yea?
I love how people say her as the Grandmother of Nations. RIP Queen Elizabeth, you will always be remembered.
No matter what your opinion on the matter this is such an insightful video
Couldn't agree more! You get such an authentic insight of British society. It's a gem
The fact that he calls him “Charlie” speaks volumes about the respect level vs. Queen Elizabeth.
I’m an American but I’ve always admired and respected Her Majesty. We have had a shared interest in animals and nature, she was such an irreplaceable icon. My heart truly breaks and I wish this were all just a bad dream. Rest In Peace Your Highness, you’re reunited with your Duke, father, mother, Diana, and all of your precious loved ones both two legged and four legged. She’s surrounded by so much love. Just imagine all her corgis running to greet her when she arrives in Heaven🕊❤️❤️
It kinda sucks how we probably will not get another queen for a very long time, Charles lll will rule for maybe 10-30 years, William after him for maybe another 30 years and George is hard to tell but we will probably not get another queen this century, and i think that's honestly a bit sad:(
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, it will be just kings now from the remainder of my life...
But atleast we managed to have a queen. The children born today will most likely never experience one at all.
Over the last 469 years, a women was Queen of England for 209 of those years.
Why? If anything that will be a good thing
on the other hand, some people were born in the time of her reign and some of them never had a king
Amazing to see how loved the queen is/was, i mean we have a king here in sweden, if he died we'd probably say "oh thats sad, oh well he had a good one" and thats about it, to see british people drop everything they're doing and actually cry in the streets talking about her is beautiful to see.
Its one of the pros of traditionalism, there is nothing else unifies people to such an extent, more than shared history and custom.
She was an icon ⭐️
A fellow swede here, and I absolutely agree. I envy the brits in a sense, and I wish for the Queen to rest in peace, knowing she has fullfilled her duty to the absolute fullest!
It's not just the British who have felt the great loss and sadness of her passing. Here in Australia we are also the Queen's subjects. Her Majesty will always be remembered with great love and adoration here. She was very special to us too, and she will be deeply missed.
You Swedes have the right approach!
Watching people mourning her really touched me. I got choked up when King Charles was on the tele in the pub addressing his nation. I wish America had a leader as compassionate as him.
King Charles is compassionate about the death of his mother.
Biden showed honest compassion when visiting Ukrainian refugees in Poland half a year a go. He spoke from the heart and the White house staff even backtracked on his statements.

@@MineMeMineMeMineMe The monarchy brings in much more money through tourism than they spend.
@@MineMeMineMeMineMe It seems that you're not British by the looks of your words. The Monarchy is Historically and culturally significant to Britain
I'm only in my 20s, but I she somehow seemed like a permanent fixture in life. As an American I didn't have the same relationship Brits did with Her Majesty, but her passing saddens me greatly. I almost expected her to live forever, I suppose. Elizabeth was the queen of England. How could things be any other way? To my British brothers and sisters mourning her loss, my heart is with you.
I remember when the coronavirus pandemic reached the US shores in 2020, and our president at the time called the whole thing a hoax, and then I saw Queen Elizabeth II address the entire nation in the UK about the pandemic and what to do, and after she made that beautiful speech, I specifically remember looking at my computer screen asking out loud, "would you be our Queen as well?" At the time, I was hoping for our president to be as resilient, compassionate, and as loving as her in that moment, and he wasn't. In that moment, I looked to Queen Elizabeth II because her words of encouragement was something that I needed to hear. I'll never forget those words she said. RIP Your Majesty.
It would take empathy to address the nation. Trump never owned an ounce of that emotion. That is exactly what makes a great monarch.
imagine comparing a president to the Queen
@@trispenis5199 well I've seen a lot of people say they'd rather a voted-in leader than someone born into the crown and simply handed it when they're next in line. But in this example a monarch who "didn't deserve it" showed more empathy and better leadership than a president who was voted in. So, yes, you can compare a president and the Queen.
It's in such poor taste to use the Queen's death as an excuse to rant about Trump.. and I've seen so many others doing it. Just try to forget about him for two minutes.
@@SpywareEverywhere dont think its an "excuse" people say what they feel, there is adifference with a president, in a presidential system people almost idolize or demonize the president in turn, because there is always one part that feels its not their president but the president of the other party... Even tho the queen did not pass law or apoint ministers orjudges or anything like that, the queen has a more important role, the role of being the head of the state, the physical representation of the nation, thats why the Queen never expressed her opinions, because she had to be the Queen for ALL the people in the UK, including those who hated her and are happy with her death, not even for those matters she speaked her opinion because she had to be their queen as well.
It's fascinating to me that most people genuinely mourned the queen. It's not like the North Koreans who were forced to do so when Kim jong il died
I have a great respect for Britain and it's queen. I see the beauty in her passing and how she led a marvelous life, inspiring and finding her way into the hearts of many... God bless the queen.
I can now better understand just how much this emotionally changes the day-to-day minutia of the culture for so many of her subjects. I am sure there are many who may have had a sort of love/ hate relationship to the monarchy but in the end Queen Elizabeth II was the backdrop of so much history.
Yes, she/they were/are the backdrop...a pointless yet hugely expensive, ridiculously privileged, massively out of touch and thoroughly inappropriate backdrop.
@@Arcadiabeckons that's one way of looking at it though it doesn't seem to capture the whole picture. *edit
The Queen has voluntarily paid income tax and capital gains taxes since 1993, for instance.
The death of our Queen will be the end of an special time in British history. I understand what that man means when he says he has lost his Britishness. I was British a few days ago. After reading everything said and done by some "British" people, I see now that I do not share their values. I am Scottish and hoped for a more united nation for my children. The division is more real that it ever was now. Fare thee well England, you will never see her likes again. There is not another one to take over. Rest in peace your majesty for your duty is over.
I admire that insight, thank you. Not a British, but has been fascinated by their heritage and history, such an old country. I understand the Brits are going through a hard time, losing the strong past they once had and gripping for changes in this challenging time all over the world.

The young man felt like he lost his Britishness. And that's why I think Britain should remain a monarchy ❤️
I had no problem with a queen but the monarchy is a farce these days, they only exist to be at popular and important events and that’s it, if they want to keep it going that’s their decision, but is it still necessary? Doubt it
I don't understand people, a little respect, you can be against or for the queen, but if we see from a human side, she deserves respect
With the instability of everything, I will truly miss being able to say that at least the queen is still here
I'm not even British but when British people say it's the end of a generation, I feel that. Just the thought that she could have chosen not to go to this path and yet she used that royal blood of hers to be able to serve the country for decades, I want to emulate her courage and strength. She is a leader with a heart. Something you can hardly find in today's generation. That is why she is so loved.
‘Royal blood’
From a factual, biological standpoint, if you were to see William the Conqueror as the beginning of the royal bloodline after the Norman invasion with 100% pure blood royalty. After 43 generations of this ‘royal blood’ being halved with each generation and mixed into an unrecognisable amalgam of what that original organism’s royal blood was, the queen had approximately:
0.0000000000113687% royal blood in her and
99.99999999999% blood of the common wealth.

i'm surprised how much people care about her.
In the U.S., you would have a hard time finding someone who carries a picture of the president, but in London, it seems common to carry a picture of the queen.
Lol these are just delusional people
Everyone could relate to her because she was queen before most of us were born. 70 yrs....a 1/3 of US history
Presidents directly govern a country, everything bad that happens affects their image, the queen does nothing is just a traditional adornment or just does the easy job, presidents only last a few years, they are forgettable, the royals remain in their position until they die and for that reason alone they become "iconic", but objectively they no longer serve just for charity events that they just do to look good, and when they "served" it was to fuck their people

We have lost our Bedrock! We will never see another Monarch of her kind again in the World. Duty and service to the people cannot be found in our Politicians it seems. The lights have gone out.
Sadly monarchs are ten a penny-as soon as one dies there's another to pop up and take their meaningless, yet insultingly unequal, place. Until the people of this country wake the fuck up and choose to abolish monarchy, we'll see plenty of 'her kind'.
Winter is coming...
@Helen Alison lucky?! Every year we continue to have such a deeply anachronistic institution of monarchy is a ludicrously expensive, disgustingly unequal, historically shameful and politically embarrassing mark on our nation. The way many people and the mainstream media is reacting it is as they are children: crying because one woman who nearly lived for a century in the most obscene luxury and privilege has died. Leaving Paddington Bears and marmalade sandwiches outside one of her family’s many palaces when there are people in this country either homeless, in unfit housing and/or relying on food banks! Maybe we’re not children…perhaps actual children would’ve abolished monarchy a long time ago.
The show must go on.....
It's such a foreign idea that everyone has respects a leader like this. Here in the states, there hasn't been a leader like that as long as I have been alive.
Well, the fact that she was not political is a big reason for that. The queen was a symbol for old fashioned values that seem to be lost in our times.
@@_R8x_ Old fashioned values belong in the past. The world has vastly improved since the 20th century and we should continue to look forward, not backwards.

Despite the negative comments about the royal family, there still remains quite an interest (at least for me) in the unique pomp and ceremony which only the British can display to the world. . I don't know of any other nation that can compete.
That is because only your monarchy is actually an acting one, with Elizabeth it was a counter balance to the govt, she had a say and was listened. Other monarchies in Europe are just a nice postcard, nice addition to country's tourism. Hence the old traditional proceedings are stil in place in the UK, because they're alive and needed.
@LM It makes sense to me now that the ceremonial proceedings are a necessary part of an active monarchy
