My 2018 malibu lt has been doing this off and on since we bought it. It's been to the dealer 3x and they say they can't find anything wrong. I've changed both VVTs with no success. I'm going to try your suggestion. I'm so glad I came across your video. They're may be a light at the end of the tunnel that's actual not a train!!
There's a service bulletin for this and some are covered under an extended warranty through gm. If you give me the last 8 digits of your vin I can verify that for you
That makes sense. I live in Vegas , and there are times when it rains I would get caught in a flash flood. The water would be about a foot in half deep in water. So thats probably why I'm having those issues

My 2016 chevy malibu reduce engine power for a while one day i went inside the store came out and to start my car and all u heard was shaking and like its trying to start but cant get that kick the lights came on while i was doing this .i locked the doors left cane back the next day since a jump didnt work .. when i tried to start it the next day it was just a clicking sound the sound stopped complete my key kob can't even lock my doors no power at all. i purchased a used battery from junkyard just to see if it was the battey but it didn't work maybe i need a real brand new battery with all the volts strong enough for my car. One mechanic told me its me ecm a fuse look like it got wet but i dont feel like thats it especially after i seen your video can u help me out bro dont wanna spend a lot of unnecessary money on a ecm when it may not even be a issue
I had the same issue with a 2018 1.5 turbo. No codes at all. No message on the dash. Just would not accelerate. After watching your video. I unplugged and plugged the gas pedal and it worked. Do you recommend replacing it still?
My Chevy malibu keeps reading a code air/gas mixture or something like not enough air getting thru (throttle body,air filter gas pump spark plugs , reduced engine power) i think this is the reason my car wont start ..imma buy a brand new battery instead of a used one to see if its thebl battery but even if thats the case i still have the other problems above ☝🏾

I have a 2019 Malibu LT and when the air is on power is so bad there's only 24,000 on it no engine light nothing comes on it only happens when I have the air on
If you're trying to just get rid of the codes just go to AutoZone and have them clear the coach for you or just buy a cheap $25 code scanner off of Amazon clear that way
I have a 2018 chevy sonic with the 1.8 L. Car started vibrating like running over rumble strips while driving on the hwy around 60 mph. Then the check engine and service stabilitrak light came on and the car started sputtering and finally it cut off. It all went down in under 15 seconds. Now It won't start, it just turns over. I only have 20k miles on the vehicle. Is it possible the throttle body already went bad? How about the coil pack? If not could it be crankshaft position or camshaft sensors? I hooked up my obd scanner and there were no stored codes. I'm perplexed!
Crank the vehicle over in monitor your RPM. And see if it actually shows that the engine is turning over while you're cranking In the meantime grab some starting fluid and just give it a few decent sprays and see if it tries to stay running with starting fluid
@@FordBossMe yes it is wanting stay running while spraying carb cleaner in the throttle body but it cuts off once I quit spraying. This is all happened yesterday not even 3 miles after filling up at a shell gas station. So I'm starting to suspect bad gas even though it was 89 non ethanol. I did get a code for fuel injector #1 open circuit and one from crank position sensor but I was pulling wiring harnesses trying to bypass them to see if it would start.
It turned out to be bad gas from the station. While draining it, it was a milky white color. It didn't turn clear till I drained about 3 gallons and started smelling like real gas. After that the engine was up and running whew!
@@ryanchristensen1799 so that would have been my next thing it runs on starting fluid then you need to make sure the pump is turning on your getting adequate pressure and then fuel testing

@@FordBossMe yep the fuel pressure tester was giving me a reading of 70 to 80 psi off the fuel rail.

Did you check the throttle because once the pedal is replaced, the throttle has to be replaced because they work together.
