The morning after our chaotic wheel problem in Texas was about as calm and nice as we could ask for. We were greeted by one of the most spectacular sunrises we've ever seen and all that while camped on the prairie. Sarah whipped up some delicious food for breakfast and we would get back on the road, but not before exploring the area a little bit.

i have always said that the Lord provides and takes care of all of our NEEDS! It is when we start with the WANTS that we get ourselves into trouble. God bless you and the family!

I'm glad to see you back on the road after the lug nut incident. It's great to see your faith in times of adversity. That sunrise was beautiful. You're probably already home, but in case you're not, there is a great, cheap little campground in Dalhart, TX. It's a municipal campground and dayuse park that has a few dpots with hookups but has space for primitive camping as well.

I really need to find a Sarah that loves overlanding as much as I do, and who loves cooking so I don't have to always be the one cookinf AND setting uo camp. All my daughter does is jump into her teardrop while I do the rest 😂 we're wanting to go out that way to hit Colorado this sunmer so I can show her where I'm originally from. Looks like you guys are having an awesome trip despite the wheel! Stay safe, guys.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Texas sunshine and landscape, there's nothing like it out there on the prairie of the panhandle. I remember going to west Texas every summer as a child to have a weeks vacation with my Grandmother in Memphis, Texas with my Family. As a Child I would look out the window, see the dirt devils and tumbleweeds, hills and valleys and imagine that I was on a wagon train traveling across the Country in the 1800's. At times I would also imagine what it would have been like for the Native people and imagined that what I was seeing was back in that time, (minus the roads and power lines alongside the roadway). I can even swear I saw an Indian pop up over a hill on a horse a time or two, but maybe it was just his spirit that I saw. I'm sure in the hundreds of years, it's not changed that much out there. There are still people roaming those hills and prairies on their way to their destinations, be it in the physical or still doing it in spirit, I swear I've seen both... Stay safe and enjoy your journey. I'll be following you along the way, from far North Texas,

It does make the mind wander about who has been there before and what it was like

Excellent comment. I completely agree and have similar memories. I think our generation has more memories of travel, in the way we did it back then. Also, it was special. It’s not something we did often. I loved the music and filming as they were going across the grasslands, like an old wagon train, but with a new wagon. So glad i found this channel recently!

This is kind of off the subject but you and I were blessed to have time with our Grandmothers. There is a country song called IF EVERY TOWN HAD A MAMAW. You should listen to it if you have time. God bless you all the days of your life.

G'morning from Oklahoma. I still occasionally camp out in my suburban. But it's getting hard to just camp without being disturbed by the law or someone.

Hi from British Columbia. Your travels remind me when I was little. Seven kids in my family and we traveled in one of the largest station wagons ever built. A very large canvas tent with every one taking up the floor space. Great memories and I'm 69 now. Blessings!

I saw the last video and so thankful you were able to get your tire fixed and met some good people. Where were you able to park off road in the prairie? Beautiful place!😊

You must have camped near Amariilo in this video. How did you just happen upon some land and made camp there? Awesome family BTW, cute kids and the two of you work well together.

It was probably BLM land near there. There used to be, if there’s not still, 12,000ish acres of public access land north of Amarillo.

I can really get into what your family is so joyful doing, I enjoyed every bit of your video, everybody happy nobody angry and screaming at each other, I could never do this with my wife without hearing obscenities and complaining that we are not looking for a Holiday Inn, so I'll just say, May God be with you always.

Ruton is the bottom of the mountain going into Colorado on I-25 . West side of the interstate is your best option for camping.
