Highly recommend Cascadia 4x4’s hood mounted solar panel, have one on my 05 suburban and have not had a dead battery or jump in the past 3.5 years. Pricey but worth it. They don’t make one specific to older suburban’s but the older tundra model solar panel fit hood really nice.
A bit of a coincident to see your battery situation. Only a couple days ago I saw someone doing what you did with the small tool bateries on utube. He used a penney for positive and negative, then connected the battery cables to each penney.
OK! Now just where did y'all turn around??? And how far did you have to back up?? I know how big your truck is, and how narrow the road is, and how steep the hills can be....
We didn’t have to backup far this time before we found a big enough spot to turn around. We have had times before where we had to backup a long ways, especially when we have our trailer with us!
@@trove1312 We have a van, 19' long, large like your rig. We do not go into areas like you do, as it is not raised, but, we do venture out and some of the roads can get interesting!!
Great video! I never would've guessed that's how you were able to go home. Beautiful family! God bless you and yours!
Me either!
Великолепный автомобиль 👍💪❤️

I may do that
Renogy makes a small trickle charge panel as well. I bought one a couple years back. Very handy.
I would encourage you to get a booster pack. They are pretty small these days and reasonable on Amazon..... Beautiful family!!
It's truly a mentally healing video.❤
Thanks!
I mean, your never truly stranded with as much gear you have with you :)
This is true!
Using a penny in the small battery slots would also work. Perhaps just carrying a second good battery might be most helpful.
Bring a jar of alcohol soaked cottonballs for fire starting. Works for us. Very simple.
We did that this weekend but with Vaseline instead of alcohol! It’s a good trick, works great!
A couple of things. #1 Man your gas is cheap! We are at $3.79 a gallon here in Pa. And B, cool trick with the drill batteries! God bless!
Yep we tend to have some of the cheaper gas.

I guess that would work, I didn’t think of that!
