Easiest place to fish in Matagorda!

Still having some luck fishing at three mile. Caught some trout, a red, a flounder, a few black drum and some big croakers. A simple drive down the beach up to the three mile lake makes it a simple place to fish. Make sure to have a 4x4. You can wade also, just watch for deep holes.

You need the Pearl hoagie super minnow, and a chrome she dog, I've caught many trout here, lots of 5 pounders and a few 7 pounders and 2 dirty 30 inch trout!!!!wade fishing key spots in 3 mile,spring bayou

Yeah I know, it's a good place no matter what it's called 10 & 20 mile cut is good too

Where is this place located? I go to palacios from time to time. Wouldn’t mind knowing a couple of spots for when I am there… 😊

In Matagorda. Along the south shoreline of East Matagorda Bay. Drive down the beach and it's the first opening in the dunes. On Google maps it's called Spring Bayou, but most people know it as three mile cut or lake. Need 4x4 drive.

Where is the closest boat ramp to this area ?

Matagorda Harbor would be the closest ramp for boats.

@@nhk_outdoors Thanks for the reply I’ll going to matagorda Saturday I want to fish east bay any advice as far as shallow areas I have a surface drive so should be ok

@Karen-pu1kz ive only done good in the three mile area. Water has been really high so I'm sure you won't have problems getting to places. The little cuts and holes I fish don't produce as good as when the water is high. Saturday should be a good day with the wind calming down.
