I love that you're apologizing to the turtle as he's swimming away...I'd do the same exact thing. Great channel. I have a solo skiff on order and can't wait to get on the water with it. I've been fishing from my kayak for about 16 years now, finally time for an upgrade.
Looks pretty amazing out there come here in Northern Colorado I barely got into fishing and I'm barely learning just caught my first catfish down in Utah small one but it was pretty fun camping out love your awesome videos Man didn't know fishing would be this fun
Like your videos but you caught Matagorda in a pretty much once in a lifetime condition on the beach. It is usually chocolate brown water and if you drive down to Mitchel's cut and the wind picks up out of the east to the south then the tide washes up to the dunes and can catch you there. You will have to make the whole trip back almost up in the dunes a lot of the way. My wife and I used to make the drive and camp out at Mitchel's cut back in the 80s and 90s. At certain times of the year there is a phosphorescence in the water and at night you can go out there and play in the glowing surf. Cool vids, keep them coming.
A solo camping trip is a pending matter for me. You found dinner and caught a very nice red, two birds right there hahaha. So sorry for that little turtle.
Glad to know u had a gr8 time here at Matagorda.. I Kayak that area lots.. And the marsh area.. Plenty of kayaking launch spots on the left b4 u hit Beach Road.. This Spring I'll be ready to launch my own Performance Fishing Wear brand.. Waterways Unlimited
Texas Coast Wanderer Kayak Fishing There were quite a few spots I saw that you could put in at. Love that area I will for sure be going back soon! Cool to hear about your fishing wear brand. Send me some pics of your logo/ designs for the shirts! On FB @ Kagen Rose.
Could hear it in your voice how bad you wanted to say "WE GOT FIRE BABYYYYYY". Great video and great Matty spot. Fished there many many times. Cheers yewwwwww
I caught a turtle in Corpus once, felt horrible too. Luckily it was just line wrapped, but trying to rescue it with jetty rocks and surf beating up on me was harrowing.
10 sec. after you cast a good red fish that's Matagorda keep it a secret. When fishing Mitchell's cut fish on the beach side of the cut, on an out going tide. The current curves to the south & will bring the bait with it caught lots of Bull Red & slots at that point. Best time to drive out there is in a low tide Then plan to stay the night. Its rough trying to drive out of there at sunset or in the dark too many stumps & they are hard to see. The wave action/sea mist at night is like a dense fog at night. I us cut mullet & just let it soak come back every 30 min to ck the bait.
Should've crossed over at "7 mile cut" also goes by "Second windmill" good fishing back there buddy. Especially in the evening before dark and after dark!
@@KagenFishing I really like it down there. No cell reception which can be a bonus haha. I'm actually going to fish there tomorrow morning. Driving down from Houston tonight.
Elias Ramos I bet it is!! I wanted to get out there but knew that I wouldn’t make it to the inlet before dark and didn’t want to drive an unknown beach front in the dark haha! I will be going back and fishing the jetties for sure!
Dude, just discovered your RUclips channel...I've been watching it for 3 hours now and you don't even have a bikini on!...haha! Live in Gtown and will check all your tips for sure..thanks man!
With the surf so calm I would have launched right there at the jetty and worked all around the rocks . The water is getting too cold for super skinny water fishing
Kccacio I agree with you. I should have but I also knew that I had a long way down the beach and i didn’t want to make a trip down a beach I have never been down before in the dark.
Kagen Fishing......just asking, when you do those solo overnight fishing at the beach do carry or conceal a firearm? It's nice solo fishing during the day but overnight fishing in a decent area kinda spooky.
@@KagenFishing It's good that you have one, I don't solo overnight fishing these days, safer back in the 1980s. Overnight fishing I'd rather do it with family and friends. Be careful out there, tight lines.
manny I wanted her to come but it was during the week that I went and she worked so I had to make it a solo trip. We will be making some camping trips together tho!
Rojo Cuevas I don’t think you could get one all the way down the beach. It’s about a 20 miles beach drive with uneven shell and loose sand. If you RV has 4wd then maybe but ground clearance may still be an issue.

Dany Rivard thanks for watching!
I enjoyed watching! I love Matagorda! So many options! And yes, it is very frustrating when you see them and they won't eat! Keep up the good work!
You found some great conditions in Matagorda! I have rarely seen it this clean.
Nice video!
Take a drink each time he says, "Dude."... ; )
i enjoyed watching your channel, love that toad rod, got 4 rods myself and a SOLO of course
I'm considering a solo skiff. Glad the sea turtle was ok.
Love your videos...your enthusiasm is contagious. Going to look at buying a Skiff

Great video man! I love Matagorda. I do surf fishing though. Only used my kayak once out there in the bays. 👍
Where was your Shiner Bock with supper? Always stop in Bay City and eat at Hinze's BBQ. It's the best.
Great video bro! You doing awesome job! More video like this please! Camp and catch and cook!
Dale Tran thank ya very much! I will for sure be doing more camping and fishing!

I think that turtle was either a loggerhead or a Kemp's Ridley. Kind of hard to tell from a distance.
Love your videos man, keep up with the good work 👍

Thanks man!
You can melt wax & woods into cup cake holders & they make excellent fire starters.
Have you surf fished the National Seashore down near Corpus Christi? I love camping and fishing out there.

Awesome vid, subbed. Do more of these.
TxRampage TV thanks for subbing! I plan to for sure!
Great outing do more of these
Wesley Hackney I will for sure! Thanks for the input!
Most Reds you catch in the surf in late spring feed between the 1st & 2nd gut.
First light and instead of fishing, you were cooking breakfast. Just turn your fishing credentials in at the door as you exit the beach.
At the end of the jetty is Bull Red land!!! Even caught. Some 4-5 tf bull sharks there!
Elias Ramos I bet it is!! I wanted to get out there but knew that I wouldn’t make it to the inlet before dark and didn’t want to drive an unknown beach front in the dark haha! I will be going back and fishing the jetties for sure!

what do you know about tacos lol🤣🤣🤣 i like your vid.
If you were solo, who was flying the drone while you were driving? Great video tho, love surf fishing vids.
bcask61 it has a follow me mode where it keeps camera pointed at truck. Really great for when solo filming like I always do.
That’s a huge school of Reds working between the 1st & 2nd gut
We got fire... Baby!!!!
Chris Morales 🔥!!
Kagen Fishing......just asking, when you do those solo overnight fishing at the beach do carry or conceal a firearm? It's nice solo fishing during the day but overnight fishing in a decent area kinda spooky.
Jst ROM yes I have my CHL license. It is a little spooky but sleeping in the jeep makes me feel more safe than just out in a tent.

What kind of drone were you using?
Thank
Hey man, do you have to get a permit to camp on the beach??
it depends where you are camping but for the most part you do not need any permit or anything to camp on the beach.
Cool, thanks
how much did you pay for your boat?
You now I would feel bad about getting a sea turtle also and that the first time I have heard of that
Where is the location link? Nice vid!

You went pretty far down huh?
As far as I could down the beach to the inlet.
What boots do you have?
They are NRS brand kayak booties
What if the turtle wasn't innocent lol what if he was guilty like the fish ha?
