    About 35 years ago, I was fishing that same spot at the boat cut, even the same direction. About my 5th cast, I got spooled. Never even had a chance to click the drag on. My line broke off with about 20' of line left on my reel. I packed plenty of lures, etc, but no line. I had to walk all the way back to the bait camp and buy some line. Ended up walking back out to the boat cut for the second time that day. I'm 64 now, and can't walk on uneven ground because of my knees. Thanks for the trip back in time for me.

      robertintexas WOW, talk about remembering. I used to fish Galveston bay until I moved away. That was over thirty years ago. I can’t wait to get back out there. Especially since the take limit has gone back up to five flounders. I wasn’t driving from Dallas to Galveston for two (maybe) fish.

    Thank you for making full disclosure on your fishing sites. Shows confidence in your abilities and you really serve your subscribers. MOST of those putting videos up don’t reveal their fishing spots and STILL ask for “patrons” to send money. I deliberately seek others who have the same level of confidence as yourself and delete those who don’t.

I have businesses in 14 countries and 1000’s of people I work with over the past 39 yrs. I make my living working with people. what am I saying? I know people and I know competence. You will win at any endeavor you undertake. I’ve been fishing since I was 5 yrs old, 67 yrs now. I know I will catch fish when I wet a line. I have no fear of that. You don’t either. Simply put, I would bet, you and I go “catching” not “fishing.” I appreciate your transparency. Thank you for the reply.

    there an hour after I arrived. I applauded his wife, she was heavy set no too, they sat for 30 minutes before casting out their first
    rod. I gave them all my fish I caught, when I asked them when they plan on going back, they said the next day! After leaving I gave
    them all my water, food, and wished them the best. I believe it was in late June too, hot, hot, and hot.

    I'm not that familiar with Galveston. I got there after Ike hit and stayed one block from the 3005 in Sea Isle in West End. I loved it there. Even though the city was devastated, I had the time of my life. I hope to go back and hang out at The Spot and 11 Oaks bar ( I think that's what it's called)

    Can I ask why do you reel in so fast when you hook a fish. Im not being critical but everything about such a rapid wind in seems counter productive to me. If the fish is big then you are going to bump it off by winding so fast.

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  4 года назад

      Ian Gray Everyone has their own style of fishing and I guess that’s just how I feel more in control of the fish. I have my drag set so that if it was a big fish and wanted to run it would keep constant pressure on the hook while letting it wear itself out. With the smaller guys if they come up to top and I can ski them back to me that just saves time and more time I have the lure out looking for a bigger fish.
