Dan isn't playing such bad tennis, he seems to have lost confidence and is losing too many tight matches. He has to be careful not go on a Diego slide.
Danielle is old, short, lacks power, & has a one-handed backhand. The game has fully passed him by. Once he's unable to defend all those points from D.C., which make up over half his ranking, he will plummet down & be one step closer to finally retiring.
I think he's only going downwards now. He looks like he is constantly finding ways to lose matches and some of his shot selection is poor. Plays far too passively at times and of course no big weapons to get him out of trouble. At his age I think we've now seen the best of him.

You know Nacho Duracell was glad to see Danielle Evans lose after all his kvetching during changeovers. We get it, you're losing & want to be at the pub sitting on your favorite booster seat.
