the moment he mentioned 85 pop that sold it to him, he knows full well that its going to be more in the future not "$100, $200" for his kids. not to mention its what mint condition? i cant recall the absolute grading but anything other than still in a display or feature pack unopened i don't think you can get a better condition? (and thats if they even have those packs for Ohtani)
Negotiating is a funny thing. $500 is $500. We would fight tooth and nail to save that money day-to-day. But you buy a $40,000 car and you're happy, when you could've offered 39,500 or 39,800. When prices are high like this card at 2500, people dont think that saving $50 matters. $50 is $50. The guy couldve countered with 2425. $25 is $25. Just because a purchase is large, doesnt mean be irresponsible and careless.
I never buy (just about) anything at full price IF i can help it. Has saved me and people around me thousands of dollars over the years without too much effort.
Respectful CANADIAN negotiation - funny when the seller said DISRESPECT ME - great line both finally figured out a workable # BUT the Americans have ZERO clue what CDN$2,450 is... US$1,818
Silver bullion is a pretty useless investment. Gold is a far superior investment with better returns. Silver is just cheap. Movement on silver isn’t much to get excited about.

I guarantee you, your kids aren't gonna give a f*** about this card, and when the time comes to sell it they're not gonna have the wherewithal to even get what its worth - assuming it holds any value over the next few decades
