Idk how much differently it would’ve gone but it felt like he was breaking out during that streak into a solid PG
Too many teams do the same mistake. They start from the bottom eventually draft a good player and then get stuck in mediocrity because they cant build around him( they are not bad enough to be at the bottom, and not good enough to be contender), the player leaves in free agency because he is fed up and the club is back at the beggining. Instead of doing that they should build around that player for few years and then at the peak of his value trade him for assets, start the rebuilding again, sooner or later find another good player and then have both the assets from previous trade and the good player that wont leave because they are stuck in the middle. Its literally that simple. But the problem is NBA is business and owners are greedy they want ticket sales and they are not willing to look into the future. Team like Charlotte is a perfect example. They started from absoulte 0 in 2010 they started floating around playoff spot with Kemba in later years, and instead of trading him for assets and rebuilding with those assets they go full delusional mode and then lose him for nothing and have to start all over wasting 10 years in the process.
And also, besides the Knicks and Bulls, they are from small market teams. Those kind of teams are usually, not very appealing for top tier free agents. If LeBron wasn't from Cleveland and felt like he had to bring a title, the Cavs would be on this video for sure, because apart from going back home there's 0 chances a small market team that struggles to make the playoffs lands a superstar.

And they decided to pick as coach Tom Thibodeau, which happens to be recently known for strugglin to develop young talent and not managing the personalities of his stars. He's also very good as GM. I wonder how long will it take before he demands Deng and Rose to be sign.
I would include the Cavs rebuild around Le Bron James after drafting him. While there may be those who argue that they got to the Finals and had a lot of playoff success along the way, most experts agree that this was due to the brilliance of Bron and that if he had better players surrounding him, he would have achieved more success. It seems he agreed with this assessment and left for Miami when his contract was up. But why would I include this rebuild if it achieved so much success? Because anytime the player you built around WANTS to leave, you know management screwed up.
you are spot on my man, another one could be the Magic, while they were great when Howard was there they couldn't get him a whole lot of help, they haven't been good since he's played there
Though part of it is LeBron's fault for strong arming the Cavs into resigning Tristan Thompson and Jr to bloated contracts that ultimately crippled them after 2017.

It's funny to me how Jordan is blamed for every Hornet failure when he's the owner and the GM is never blamed. they made the playoffs at least once i think with melo, amare and company lol
Since before Christ*
They became a serious title contenders or relevant atleast at that 12-13 season. They're the second seed at the East. 58-24 record.
Sparklez who tf cares? That’s their only playoff appearance this millennium and they got dropped off in the second round. They were pretenders
Crazy part is in 2k that pistons squad was good smith was one of the few players that could actually guard lebron
The Knicks has been rebuilding since the beginning of the Century
Since the big bang
I mean they were contenders in 2013 ... the kings have not made the playoffs since 2005
Since before Christ
Kevin Lingfeng Li being pretenders for one year isn’t really success
Mqrlen_ I didn’t say it was success, I was just pointing out that they were not rebuilding during that year, so they haven’t been rebuilding since the beginning of the century
We get to watch the suns play in the finals again. Nice video.
That Ny Knicks “currently” at #1 didn’t age too well
It aged perfectly
@@Celicagame13 yea ok lmao
History of players the Timberwolves could have had (2009-2013)
2009; Curry instead of Flynn
2010; Boogie instead of Wesley Johnson
2011; Kawhi, Kemba, Klay, or even Valanciunas instead of Derrick Williams
2012; (Didn’t really have a good one for here)
2013; Ironically trading for the guy who was picked one before Giannis
This hasn't aged overly well. Knicks are a solid playoff team & The Suns are in the finals 😅
Suggestion for next video;
How can MJ be such a great player but yet can never draft one?
Maybe m.j. would be envious of a star coming in and taking the attention and spotlight from him?
What about the Mavs? They blew up their championship team knowing that they have a chance to sign a big fish.
😂😂😂 funny how he says freaking terry rozier when terry is playing better than Kemba 😂😂
It's funny to me how Jordan is blamed for every Hornet failure when he's the owner and the GM is never blamed. But with every other team the criticisms almost always fall on the GM for mismanaging a team. Even in this video, multiple GMs were mentioned. But the only owner I heard mentioned was Jordan.
Joe dumars deconstructed the 2000s Pistons
The 76ers post Allen Iverson... Even before the real tanking started.
Watching this video 8 months later, when the Knicks made the play offs and Julius Randle is a shoe in for MIP, is super fun
Watching it the following season is even funner!
i know its football but Detroit Lions: Rebuilding since 1957
I feel like Detroit sports in recent years has been failing similar to DC sports before they started getting good again
😿
The Timberwolves have been rebuilding for all but 6 years (2000-2005) of their existence.
Megatron choosing to retire early was the nail in the coffin
Crazy how the nets repeated their horrible decisions, then the suns proceeded to do the same lmao
If they don’t make big changes soon, the 76ers will be here soon
no doubt, Simmons has got to go in my opinion, and even if they get rid of him they don't have much help Joel is a star no doubt, but he can't win it all by himself
nope. even though they didnt pass the second round for the last two years they were better at rebuilding than these teams mentioned.
James Pulolo true but they not even really rebuilding, they drafted 2 good players, and haven’t been able to do anything well since
The Process 😆😆
Anthony agree, they should already be here cause “the process.” It took way to long and was based on tanking for picks every year just hoping they’d get lucky. Finally they did and now they can’t even manage that!
The number one pick of this video aged very Bad HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hi andy! Can you make something about what happened to Larry Sanders? I think this is a good time talking about him.. a guy with so much potential to be one of the best rim protectors but vanished due to depression.. please see my comment.. i notice that you may be running out of content and some are a bit redundant in my opinion.. maybe a story of larry sanders may spice up your content.. i dont know if you featured him when he played in the cavs but this time when players are having mental health issues in the bubble, i think larry sanders topic can open up something about depression..
I always watch your videos 🙂👍👍👍
still having goosebumps with that nets-celtics trade omfg lol
The Knicks are actually turning it around this season.👍
😂😂😂
@@roboninja3194 what
I’ve watched this video more than probably any other video and I’m not sure why but it’s a good video lol
A successful rebuild requires management whose willing to give youngsters a fair chance, no matter if they were the first pick, last pick, or Un drafted. Look at the Bucks as an example. Kris middle was a second round pick, but has become one of the Bucks most important pieces. Malcolm Brogdon is no longer on the Bucks, but was drafted in the second round and was ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. Same goes with the Raptors and many other successful teams.
New York has never been great I recent memory
They have been contenders through the 90’s and early 00’s but really even before that they were never a dynastic team
They deserve nothing
Also not making the playoffs in the 2010’s Eastern conference is sad
You wanted the knicks to suck forever. Congratulations. You got your wish
The knicks made the playoffs a few times with mello and they did really well 2012-2013 winning 50 games
I am sorry for my ignorance
Second round in 2013
Andy u snapped on this video
Knicks won’t do anything until Dolan is out.
Trae Young!
John Collins!
Cam Reddish!!
DeAndre Hunter!!!
Kevin Huerter!!!!
Clint Capela!!!!!
Suns fan here, damn we came along way KCUF !!!
It's really hard being a GM I wonder what kind of shit takes? to become a GM because this job is alot of failures.
Portland : Traded cj McCollum, Robert Covington and Dwight Powell and etc I forgot the others but there decent roleplayers and ye the rest is history for portland
"Ιt's still taking a long time to get back on track". SIKE! Suns in fo'
always waiting for you andy
“Freaking Terry Rozier” is looking pretty good right about now compared to Kemba Walker 🤷🏻♂️
10 months later, Knicks made the playoffs. The Suns made the Finals. Lol.
And still didnt won anything🤣
@@procopiomacaspac3087 Still doesn't mean the rebuild went horribly wrong.
@@LifeCoachKenn but the main goal of all the teams in the nba is to win it all. You could say the suns made a progress but the knicks had been a dumpster fire for more than a decade so surely they wont be happy on just making a playoff.
@@procopiomacaspac3087 not necessarily true. I don't think that's the Hornets' goal. Lol. But even if it were, horribly wrong still isn't correct. Again, the title isn't failed but HORRIBLY WRONG. Also, when you're rebuilding, it takes years. NY and Suns are still in the process. So this isn't decided yet.
@@LifeCoachKenn not when you have a good front office and owner. It will only take a light rebuild and still play in the playoffs. There are teams with a very good ownership and management. But unfortunately the knicks has been stuck with mediocrity and bad management. Only now theyre rebuilding and its making progress, but throughout the years theyve been stuck with a very bad front office.
Are the Twolves rebuilding? They’ve gotten so many #1 picks you’d think they would’ve completed the process.
This video did not age well.
9:14-9:16 lol buddy was all in on that call!! 💀😂
Imagine pre injury demarcus on the warriors with Lebron or with the spurs
Either with competent player or competent team / organization
Great vid andy keep up the grind
It’s hard to tell how many rebuilds there were for teams that haven’t stopped in years
Do a Damon Stoudamire or Monta Ellis “how good were they actually?” Next
That Rozier / Kemba swap doesn't look like a bad move for Hornets anymore, does it? Walker is struggling to regain his all-star from, while Rozier is flourishing for a lot less money.
Cavs will be in this list next
No love for Randle? Cmon Andy mah man!
Minnesota did the "having a superstar and not managing to build around him" oopsie TWICE
With Garnett and then with Kevin Love
The Knicks, Wizards/Bullets and Nets have been rebuilding for decades.
Almost every Knicks rebuild went wrong.
I remember when the Celtics traded Paul and KJ and while I hated seeing them go we knew their best days were behind them and also Danny knew that we weren't competing in the east as long as LeBron was still there
LMAO. Here in Det I immediately thought about Smith & Knight. Yikes
Joe Dumars really wet the bed.
😂
The Lakers had one of the best rebuilds in the league.
I know it could be much worse but as a celtics fan hearing "trust the process" as an excuse for everything over the past 10+ years has been super frustrating. they are in the finals this year but they have been unwatchable for a long time before the second half of this year
Yaaaaa I threw out my stuckey pistons jersey years ago lol I was hyped for that team
Bro y’all remember Jeremy Evans some of his highlights were nuts 😂😂
Yep! He had this crazy dunk during a pre-season game. Will always remember that dunk.
The Nash Howard retool for the Lakers hurt us a lot
And the current cavs is awful too without hope
There is the magic too, they can't get it together since Dwight left and vasting vuc
Nice vid man
Pistons had horrible luck with GMs after 2004. Traded away Billups for Iverson, then poor coaching staff. Drafting was a bust that their second rd draft was better than their first picks. Signing Smith was bad, signing SVG was bad, signing Jackson was bad. Gosh... the list continue.
I feel like andyhoops is a detroit fan from how he ripped into them.
I could see that we're a heat fan
6:59 I thought it was Ben Simmons lol
Nets will never get over trading away the picks for KG & The Truth and now will never get over trading away everything for Harden. Cursed franchise since J Kidd left.
