Which big 3 disappointed you the most? Lemme know! Also, you can sign up for Otis with my link bit.ly/3c98Doc and get your first share free when you fund your account!
Definitely thunder
@screaaamintats Kobe got plagued with injuries that season, Nash was washed by that point but I'll agree with you about Howard lmfao
Honorary mentioning: Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson 2004 NBA Season! Remember the "The Malice at the Palace"! Indiana Pacers were a good team during that season but, wiped by the Detroit Pistons in the playoffs!
Pacers hibbert,george,granger
Olajuwon, Barkley, Pippen
Honorable mention would be the Lob City Clippers.
It was a Big 4 (CP3, Griffin, DJ, and Crawford)
@@hecksters423 Then get the odd man out, Crawford
Idk how he has the Thunder on here and not Lob City who literally never made the conference finals
@@justcurious2439 Because LAC talent inferior. You're comparing Harden to Blake and WB to DeAndre Jordan lmao
@@Th1sIsMyLegacy Blake was better than Harden at the time though
T-Mac, Yao Ming, and Ron Artest. That team woulda done something if injuries didn't ruin them
Took Lakers to 7 games without Yao and Tmac.
Not a big 3.
Well the thing about Tmac and Yao was that they had injury plagued careers so idk if you would include teams where 2 of the 3 big three players were always injured.
They could have gotten to the finals if they were healthy.
Can't call them a disappointment for things out of their control. They played well together when healthy
Nash, Finley, Dirk. Im a bit hesitant on this because they played against the Spurs and Kings. However, they let Nash walk in 04 where he won the MVP that same season.
I felt like that trio should've gotten a championship.
@@B-ROCK89Production me either. If Dirk didnt went down with knee injury during the 2003 WCF then who knows.
@@allanpaoloalingod1863 💯
They also had antwan Jamison and antoine walker after that year.
Not a big 3.
Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre and Carlos Boozer was the most disappointing trio ever but they lead with 256 claps and a career high 157 cheers a game (best in the league)

“No Big 4s Big 5s, just Big 3s.” Rajon Rondo is somewhere crying.
so is Serge after he mentioned the thunder
Weirdly enough, I think Ibaka in his 30s would've been more useful to those thunder teams than he was in his 20s
But Rondo still got a ring out of it so why you hatin'?
@@cottonisbaked he’s not hating
@@Abcdefg-rk8jk Why he specifically mention Rondo than?
The 2013 Celtics with Keith Bogans, Marshon Brooks, and Kris Humphries
Right that’s championship or bust right there
Naw not really they was outmatched
Kris Humphries is known for marring Kim kardashian for 72 days
lmao
I forgot about Kris Humphries, lmao
Latrell "I have a family to feed" Sprewell. Classic.
Another disappointing big 3: Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler
Big 4 including Tobias Harris
Ben Simmons messed it up
The fact they chose to keep Simmons and Harris over Butler was a terrible decision long term
@@kalakalboy5272 nah
@@kalakalboy5272 big contract is about it with Harris
I would put Kobe, Steve and Dwight as most disappointing trio ever.
That's the most disappointing
On paper vs reality team ever
Howard was like not 3 season removed from the finals
Nash and d'Anthony but on paper they are the 2 least influenced by old age
Gasol and metta world peace were back to back champions like 2 years before that
That was a big 5 with pau and Ron artest too
The clippers too with cp3 Blake and deandre
Nash’s body broke down immediately and Dwight never meshed with Kobe. It was Murphy’s law
@Tiger I think people also forget Dwight came off back surgery that year he joined the Lakers so he wasn't 100% until it was to late
Richard Jefferson, Vince carter, Jason Kidd... absolute favorite nets team but just got bounced every year even with all that fire power
True, I remember them totally underperforming with the hype that surrounded that team. Kept losing to the Heat in the playoffs and never made it past the 2nd round. Carter and Kidd just didn't have any chemistry together.
It was so tough... I’ve been a nets fan since 2000 and VC was my all time favorite player so it was a dream come true just to completely underwhelm....
@@johnyaworski7445 hey man at least the Nets went to back to back finals. I've always been a Bullets/Wizards fan from the Webber & Howard days to the MJ and Hamilton/Stackhouse days to the Arenas, Jamison & Butler days to the Wall and Beal days to now and the constant theme with the Wizards is that they're all hype but never play up to their expectations. In the mid 2000s those Arenas led teams were really fun to watch but you knew they wouldn't reach their potential, the Wiz always underperform idk why but that's always been the case. At least your Nets now look like they're going to make a finals run, just wait until Durant comes back. I hope they do make the finals and I hope they destroy the Lakers cause I can't stand LeBron. I'd like to see Harden and Griffin win a title too.
Facts. The Gilbert, Butler, and Jamison era felt extremely similar to what the nets went through with their big 3. But hey man you never know look at the nets now from 3-4 years ago no average fan being able to name one player on our team to 3 superstars. You just never know what could come down the line
@@johnyaworski7445 thats my hope, Brooklyn is a more desirable city to play in than DC and it looks like we're about to blow the team up after this season but who knows, after another rebuild all it takes is drafting well and signing the right kind of guys. I forgot about the Garnett, Pierce, Joe Johnson, Lopez and D Williams Nets, I know they were past their prime but I remember that Nets team having a lot of hype.
Run TMC Warriors were a great team, featuring 2 HOF and 1 that should be HOF, but never made the conference finals, due to a lack of defense.
They got broken up too early, and when they were still together the West was stacked, starting with LA, then Portland, Phoenix, Utah, etc.
Mid 2000’s Suns teams with Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, and Amare Stoudemire should be an honorable mention here
2007 still hurts!!
Didnt they get robbed?
@@GreaterSociety ye
They could have been champions in 2007 hadn't been for that bastard referee betting against phoenix robbing us of our last great season and only opportunity to be champions
Great teams though
if Demarcus Cousins didn't get that achilles in 2017-18 , who knows what could've happened and this was Cousins's best chance to reach his first playoff appearance
Healthy Boogie and AD looked dangerous
He ended up getting it a year later tbf
@@qwertyzxcvbn3174 the metrics may not be friendly to the Boogie/AD duo but there was something there if not for that injury.
I almost misread that
I don't like how he downgraded A.D. and Cousins. A.D. and Cousins were starting to get hot when cousins got injured. They were on a seven-game winning streak when he went down. Yeah, they continued winning after he went down; but if he was still there, they could have made noise in the playoffs.
Most disappointing will always be the late 60s early 70s Lakers. Had Wilt Elgin and Jerry and bill was still whooping they ass 🤦
he was retired then
@@mas7263 he beat them in 1969 in his last nba finals

Steve Nash, Amare, and The Matrix. I just knew they were gonna win one together, that Fun in the Sun offense was unstoppable
Not a superteam
@Interdimensional Bigfoot not really. Marion and Amar'e were very limited offensive players who Nash made allstars. And they had no bench. Superteams have never existed the way the media makes it out to be. Joel Anthony and a rookie pg did not start on a superteam. People think there players make a team or great individuals make a great team. Our international teams have been proving that theory wrong for two decades now.
But they didn’t even win a ring.

Melo could’ve made this list 3 times if you included Melo, Iverson and JR Smith in ‘06-07.
??? As soon as Iverson left the sixers he clearly wasn't the same player impact-wise. He may have still gotten 27+ but u do notice, especially the year he got traded to denver those wins weren't really top-tier team wins. Jr at that time was also inconsistent, and definitely not on the level the year he won 6moy, and even then he was super shaky during playoff time.
It was only when Chauncey arrived that the nuggets looked super promising. That team needed a vet presence, especially when the spurs, lakers, mavs, suns were in the same conference.
Jr Smith was never a Big 3 piece. His best season was 6th Man of the Year on the Knicks.
LOL, JR Smith???!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@hmrhuang JR 5th...of Hennessey.
@@hmrhuang Now if it had been Randy Smith instead of JR maybe
It's crazy how Melo is on 2 out of these 7 teams lmao
Same with Westbrook. Him, Durant and Harden definitely would've won a title if they kept that team together but Anthony never had a chance, his style of play doesn't win you championships.
@T Mitch Thibs Knicks are headed in the right direction. Scrappy team with young talent, a lot of upside there. Finally y'alls future looks bright. They mauled my Wizards in back to back games. They just play hard and play fundamental tough defense and now that they're relevant they'll attract a superstar type of player that will put them over the top. They have the 5th seed locked down since the Hornets lost Ball for the year. I hope this is a start to the Knicks being a consistently good basketball team because the NBA is better when the Knicks are good.
@@ryanb7013 The Knicks are going nowhere. Literally 2 games over .500. They will probably not make the playoffs now that the Bulls are a better team. The management is not good and had ample chances over the last decade to make a better team. Also the Wizards should be better than they are if you look at the roster. Maybe if you guys would actually give Deni Avdija some playing time 🙄
@@justcurious2439 the Knicks won't make playoffs? They're tied with the 4th seed with a Hornets team that's lost Ball for the season. They'll 100% make playoffs. They won't do anything in the playoff but given how terrible that franchise has been lately and given how their ownership and front office are the reason why they've been bottom dwellers in the East I'd say they're headed in the right direction. Whether they build off of this year is another story, can't trust them to make the right decisions or make the right moves so who knows how they'll respond next season. On paper the Wiz should be a 4 or 5 seed in the East. Losing Thomas Bryant for the season early on doesn't help. Brooks is a terrible coach, they play no defense whatsoever and they have the worst front court in the NBA. Russ and Beal need help and its frustrating watching them play. At least they're a fun team to watch. They're 5 games back from the 8th seed so I doubt they'll make a run. I'm loyal to my teams though no matter how bad they are. Props to you noticing Avdija though, you know your basketball. That goes to show you how terrible of a coach Brooks is and given how thin our roster is at the moment there's no reason why he's averaging only 21 min per game. Coaches this time of year usually give their rookies more time on the court to get that experience and grow so it's frustrating to see our 9th pick not getting the opportunities and the playing time he should be getting. Brooks needs to go after the season
“But but he’s underrated!!!!”
- Melo fans
I really feel bad for Charles Barkley that he didn't get a ring smh. He had the skills but never the right situations

ahh the Knicks big 3 in the early 2010s .. man what could've been , and yeah that was really short lived sadly , i really thought those years were gonna workout in new york but Melo and Amare could not work together
I wouldn't say that's a big three. More like a big 2. 1 for melo. .75 for Amare because of injuries. And .25 for Chandler lol
True but they were told old if they were 10 years back it would probably work.
ef692 Yeah, Andy loves taking slick jabs at Melo . I peeped it a while ago. His Knick big 3 segment mainly focused on Melo, when he was really the only consistent/dominant player. Tbh JR was more of a threat than Chandler/Amare , especially the last two seasons.
No way Okc’s big 3 was the most disappointing of all time: who the hell thought they were going to do anything?
I'd have left the 2004 Wolves off this list for 2 reasons.
1. Shaq and Kobe's superteam was sitting on them and got all of the calls in the WCF and,
2. Stern was notorious for pulling all the stops by using refball to squash small market teams in the playoffs. (Just ask the Wolves, Blazers and Pacers during that era.) The Spurs were his token that he frequently used to silence critics.
Don't forget the Bucks. 2001 ECF vs the Sixers was pure refball.

@@keldonjohnson1 no but I think he was assuming theyd be on the thumbnail cuz then why say that
@@confidential5776 yea true and I was thinking of pierce garnett and Williams (Lopez I guess can count as well as Joe Johnson sort of)
0:25 I thought he said 3 star players as in ⭐⭐⭐
Mashburn, Jackson & Kidd
Johnson, Mourning & Bogues
Allen, Baker & Robinson
Bryant, Nash & Howard
Paul, Griffin & Jordan
There were a few the league were big on but couldn’t make a lot of noise in the regular season or playoffs. But fans still remember them, I loved the Grandmama Era Hornets of the 90’s.
Barley, Hakeem and Scottie
#4 just needed more time !
I'm genuinely shocked that Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant isn't on this list. When the Dwight trade happened the media went bonkers on it but the team was an absolute disaster almost from the beginning. Kobe broke his body willing that team to the playoffs only to get swept 4-0 by the Spurs with Kobe out with what ended up being a career ending achilles injury.
Because they were all old and washed.
@@Okieant Nash maybe, but Dwight was coming off back surgery, and Kobe was balling out until he blew out his achilles
Also howard wasn't fully healed from his back surgery.#MikeNice
#TheLakeShow
They could be considered a big 4 since they also had Gasol still who was coming of a good season.
@@Okieant HOWARD WASNT OLD U LIAR !!
#7 turned out better than expected. =)
Sprewell and Cassell were past their primes already yet gave the Timberwolves the franchise's best season ever and helped KG get MVP.
Never considered them a disappointing "big 3". More like veterans that overachieved and had the perfect chemistry for one season.
Can you make a video about best bench players?
A Huge shoutout to Otis Thorpe that sponsored this video.
I’m here after LaMarcus signed with the Nets
Nah that Ad and Boogie duo was fire idc what them stats say
You could honestly argue none of these trios were disappointments. Minnesota's big 3 prior to 03-04 was expected to make the second round at best and got to the WCF. Houston's was one of many western contenders in the 96-97 season and made the WCF. Washington had pretty shallow depth outside of their big 3 so making the second round wasn't really a disappointment. The thunder made the finals. The knicks were disappointing but were also riddled with injuries while that big 3 was together. The NOLA big 3 didn't even play a full season together. Pretty much none of these teams were disappointing unless you consider anything short of being NBA champions disappointing.
No one considered the Knicks to have a big 3 post 2012. STAT was shot by then.
Thank you. Real Knicks fans know that team had no real hope. That team was propped up by its vets. Jason Kidd, Sheed, Kenyon Martin, etc. Those guys were huge for us.
I'm a simple man. I see Andy Hoops upload, I watch ASAP. *2 words: Andy Hoops, Must Watch Basketball*

Hey Andy. Can you do a review how good sam cassel is?
Saw the headline and thought gee I wonder what brought this up
The 2013 lakers were a disappointment
Kobe
Nash
Howard
All on one team but they barely made the playoffs
Tbh that list should read
-Kobe
-A version of Nash who was already on the decline before signing and the injuries just finished him off
-The husk of Dwight Howard
Crazy to think that we never really got to see true prime Dwight, he got injured literally in his age 26 season which is typically the start of a players prime if he was putting up 20 and 14 before even hitting his prime imagine what he could've done had he gotten to truly play through his prime and developed a good mid range shot he would've been even scarier than he already was
Not a big 3. Nash almost 40
Gasol was also on that team which might have cancelled (big 4)
THey were mostly washed as fuck on that team.
The big 3 was supposed to be
Kobe
CP3
Howard
But David Stern & some salty owners was like veto that shit
Basically Melo just cannot work with any team because his playstyle just revolves about him getting passed the ball and finding a way to score it and nothing else
That's pretty accurate. He still plays like it's 2009 today.
He plays great today especially after the league tried to black ball him
@@doccholo905 Melo has adopted very well he’s a better 3 point shooter and spots up more right now and is having a great season with the blazers so watch games before you talk
7:00 Counting Tyson Chandler as a Big 3 is a stretch. I would replace that with the Webber, Stojakivic and Bibby Big 3, although their disappointment in 2002 came on the hands of the refs (and maybe **cough cough** the NBA front office???). Even one of the refs came out years later to admit that the series with the Lakers was rigged.
Good ones
Why do I have a feeling that the KD-Harden-Kyrie Nets will be on here someday?
🤡
Maybe, they have never properly paid together it I wouldn’t bet on it
@@IAMMRONALD ?
Not gonna happen lol
@@pervysage9310 It did
Reggie Miller Jermaine O’Neal and Ron Artest. We should’ve won a chip in 04/05
yeah but the Malice at the Palace got screwed them.
Not a big 3
Malice at the Palace is still the most infamous moment in NBA history for me
Were it not for the BnW Celtics pic, I would have thought "NBA History" only goes back to the mid-90s.
