      No.. sorry actually if you knead it by hand the water measurements will change..with the mixer just the said amount will be enough..but by hand as it will take more time..it will consume more water..

      @@rushdafaz3309 for gumpaste we dont do by hand as the dough needs to be made quick so it does not dry..

      It is better to use stand mixer so it forms a dough fast

      Of course you can mix with hand I do small amounts i don't ever use a mixer and it comes out perfect.

      I would prefer to use the stand mixer as it incorporates all the ingredients fast ..and in gumpaste that is what is needed..if you use hand then the recipe needs change accordingly as the water content you would need more

      Always use 50 50 that is gumpaste 50 and fondant 50 that is called as modelling paste for making figures

    Hello Sir. Can I use margarine instead of Shortening. The stores where I live are selling margarine saying its similar to veg shortening

      No margering is only 70% fat shortening is 100% fat we use shortening because the paste will not melt in humid conditions..if you use margerine then your flowers will start wilting

      Icing sugar should be used..no shortening gives you the flexibility so it can help yu to stretch the paste more thin..

    Hello Mr Kumar - I have trouble quite understanding your accent - is it 500 grams of icing sugar? I made with 500 grams and all the sugar was not taken up into the gumpaste. I had to knead in small amount of water when I removed from mixing bowl.

      Yes 500 grms sugar..

      Its OK if you have added bit more water to combine ..icing sugar varies from place to place because of the cornflour ratio in different countries..
      The point here it should all combine together as a ball and not soggy

      @@loisdelaney2593 Any part of the world they add 2 to 3% of corn flour to sugar to get icing sugar so the sugar does dont get sticky..they may not write in ingredients..but all icing sugar has cornflour..

    Dear Sir, I make my gum paste exactly with your recipes but it was not the same as your gum paste .it not look like ball ,it became part part or crushed what is the reason ? Pls guide me 🙏🙏🙏😔

      May be because of sugar quality from different places..try adding more water accordingly

    Hi, Sir I tried to make Gum paste using ur recipe, but when I add gelatin mixture to icing sugar it remains wet and not like dough & when I add a bit more icing sugar and let it rest it becomes dry and hard please advice what I can do. I am not from India I am from Kenya. Please advice thanks in advance

      Hi the right consistency is after you add the extra icing sugar it becomes hard is the correct texture..(gumpaste should be hard) when you want to use it take a little and add bit of shortening in your hands and condition the paste it will become easy to work with..
