I'm born and raised here in Hawaii. Love this! Sheehan is one of my holy grails. I find manuheali'i all the time since they still make it. It sells within a week. Even the Hawaiian Brands they sell in walmart here will get decent money. If I niched down, it would be Hawaiiana. I found 1950s shirtfor $1 yesterday, that I should get over $200 for. My advise is to not underestimate Hawaiian. Mark it up, I see solds for stuff I sell for double, triple, sometimes quadruple the price. And if it's the only one, price it high and let it fly. Also, Etsy buyers pay up for Hawaiiana. Thanks for all you do. I love your research videos.
Great advice thank you!
hmm, thanks for this, i live in Waikiki, i can't believe i've been sleeping on Aloha stuff lol.
@marinahuizar6067 Do not sleep on Aloha wear! You would be surprised what Hilo Hattie's and Bishop Street sell for on line. Junk Brands here sell well there. I never spend more than $3 and I've sold dozens of shirts and dresses for over $100.
Kohala, Tory Richard, Reyn Spooner Cooke St will get you $50 to $100 all day long. Also tee shirts with Hawaii on it. Harley Davidson Hawaii, Hard Rock Honolulu etc. Garage sales are your best bet, I'd be picking Manoa for vintage if I was on Oahu. I'm on Maui and our few thrift stores overprice Aloha wear.
You’re amazing, and Happy birthday to your son!!!!!!
Thank you 😊
As always Kat … an eye opening video👏
Glad you think so
Wow, that’s amazing!
Thank you! You are always a great help on finds! As an aside, it is complicated putting the sizes on vintage clothing. Vanity sizing has sized up greatly. For example, a 1980s size 12 is about a current size 8. I usually give a vague S, M, L and READ, then give measurements, with the explanation about vintage sizing.
That makes sense thank you
Very interesting!
I think so too!
I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you !'m going to look through my inventory for Hawaiiana 😊
Good luck!!
I love that you started right off the bat with Alfred Shaheen, I'm obsessed with his designs for clothing and fabrics.
He has some great ones for sure!
I watch Kat because I don't know those brands and may have bypassed them not knowing.
Awesome video! Happy Birthday to your son! Thanks for sharing. Hi to Dalton!
Thank you!
Thanks for another informative video! Had to fix one of my listings after watching this and put my shirt on auction. Happy Birthday to your son hope you had a great day !🎉
Awesome! Thank you! Hope it does well
CRAZY content, Kat!
Thank you so much. Eyes have been peeled for Hawaiian clothing for a while, but new $$$$ items added to my list now.
Blessings,
K.T.
You're so welcome!
Great video. I just sourced Hawaiian clothing from a Whatnot seller based in Hawaii🤗 I recognize some names you showed here. Thank you
That's amazing
Great video - thanks for the tips! And yes, we love Cayley & crew!
They're amazing!
Thanks for sharing this information. I wish I have known more because I was in Hawaii few weeks ago. I went to the vintage clothing store but only got 2 dresses which both were made in Hawaii. Love the color and the prints. Also enjoyed the second hand store there. Found several good items besides the dresses 😊.
I'm not sure if newer would go as high I think most were vintage but would be interesting to know if these brands are still making dresses
Wow! Thank you Kat. I had no idea that this was a thing! I will be watching for the Robe video. Thank you for all you do to help us as resellers! Be well.
You are so welcome!
Looking fabulous for having a 25 year old!
Thank you 😊
Great information ~thanks Kat!!
You are so welcome!
Great video. Thank you so much for your research videos.
Glad you like them!
Odd to see the long sleeve Hawaiian shirt. First I've ever seen. My brother loves these shirts, he even wears them at Christmas. Oh, and I didn't get my $15 discount from What Not on my first order. I'll check out the reseller group. Great video.
Email support@whatnot.com and give them your order number and let them know you used my link and didn't get the $15 they should send it
@@TheNurseFlipper Thanks so much!
Another great, informative video! I happen to have veen born in Hawaii. I love authentic Hawaiian everthing! Curious if you think that the recent fire on Maui may have driven prices higher? I know so much was lost in that fire. Perhaps replacements are sought after now. Thanks for putting this together. So fun to watch too. You're the best! 😉👍♥️🌴🌺
I don't think so, but I can't be sure. They've been high for years. Interesting thought though for sure.
Hafta find the 1 shirt I found couple weeks ago it's made in Hawaii but I think newer
Still could do good
Happy Cinco De Mayo & Happy Birthday to your son!!
Thank you 😊
I live in Hawaii (Waikiki, spefically), mostly a bins sourcer. Can't believe i've been sleeping on this, i just don't love picking up the Aloha stuff, lol. I'm mostly a upper mid tier to luxury reseller
Yeah but I would say these are upper mid at $300 + right?
@@TheNurseFlipper oh, for sure! Like I said, didn't realize the potential, and what I'd been sleeping on
@@marinahuizar6067 I hope you get lots
Just love your channel ❤️
Thank you so much!
You gave me the motivation and knowledge to do what you are ....I knew I was heading somewhere in that direction as always loved anything to do with reusing things and re selling ....I was a RN I resigned and gave up my rego around covid etc ...and now finally I have found this and am happier than ever been ......so you do more than U you would know and that's why ❤️ your channel and your been an inspiration to me and mentor too lol 🇦🇺
@@angelawillott3699 so happy to hear congrats!
Sizes in 1940-70 were smaller than today’s sizes!
Yes for sure
From Hawai’i. Manuheali’i still exists. Popular and expensive brand. Pronounced manu-hey-ah-lee-ee.
Great to know thank you!
My buyer asked to delay purchase on ebay as she will be away..I read I will get a ding for being late ..bought 5/6 and if I ship on 5/9 I think I should be ok..any idea ..thank you and will be looking for Hawaii clothing now..😊
So for us we ship enough that holding one doesn't hurt us but if you don't sell a lot it could hurt your % so personally I would let them know and maybe you could cancel change the handling time and have them re purchase
I'm always curious when a seller accepts a best offer what the item actually sold for. Like did the seller accept a $200 offer on the $4k shirt because they were tired of having it? Lol
You can look on terapeak and it will tell you accepted amount
Are the Tommy Bahamas men’s shirts worth anything?
Some are but most are lower dollar now. The fancy graphic embroidery ones still do ok
Isabel marant is a modern expensive French designer
Good to know I'm just trying to up my knowledge to some more names.
@@TheNurseFlipper of course! I know modern brands and learning from you vintage brands. Thank you! 😀
Would you wash these dresses before you ship it?
If they smelled or had stains I would before listing. I wouldn't after selling because it could be damaged. If it needs washing it should be done before listing.
I wish. I have a beautiful Hawaiian dress that my mom got years ago in Hawaii. It’s like silk and I put it on marketplace with zero interest. Even during the whole Lahaina thing I had zero interest in this beautiful dress.
I would try ebay bigger audience
@@TheNurseFlipper yeah, Someday I’m gonna have to. Because I have a lot of things to get rid of. I just don’t have the supplies to do it. It’s going to cost me I watch all these videos and really it is intimidating to me. My daughter sells on eBay but she’s so busy and she’s moving to another state so she can’t help me. She has, three kids under nine a house on the market a full-time job and her husband is already in that state working so she’s doing it all by herself. Even when everybody was around and things were so chaotic, her life was chaotic.
@cyndimanka to get started you don't need n much supply wise
@@TheNurseFlipper I also have a fear. I watched videos where people were ripped off. Anybody can say they’re thinking broken and you have to pay them back. Or they can say they didn’t get it. I’ve seen a lot of videos were people have so many issues with eBay and the buyers
@cyndimanka we've discussed this a lot on my podcast people want to see negative and drama so that you will see more when in reality that's less than 1%
Channel tilted for resellers understood. Now if a Shopper on EBAY etc tough to find normal size Cloths aka Medium vast majority of clothing for Huge People! Recommendations on searching for medium sized on specific sites?
Use the filter to filter so sized medium on the left side on computer or top right on phone
@@TheNurseFlipper Thanks! Great channel Binge watching backwards! Great one on Ball caps and three stripes!
@@thomasgentry6201 glad you're enjoying 😉 😊
So you must be older than I had thought you were. Didn't know you had older kids. Learned you had a grown daughter and just learned you have a 25 year old son as well.
And a 9 month old grand baby 😆 🤣 😂 I had Dalton when I was 40 :)
@@TheNurseFlipper Your a young grandma!!!!!
@@mythoughts6922 lol lol I was behind most of my friends from school they had them years ago!
