Good video, and reminders.
@@TheNurseFlipper You are awesome. I so enjoy your personality and your brutal honesty. Your husband is a very lucky man.
I literally LOLd when you said "the problem is you..." -- I love it!! Being straightforward is so refreshing - stay yourself because you are awesome. :) I love your videos!
Thank you :D
It couldn't possibly be eBay and their constant changes for the worse....
Lordy Lordy, say it louder for the people in the back!! Great to hear a no nonsense response. LIST BETTER STUFF, Amen!
Yes, something is always selling you just gotta find what it is!
Appreciate the straightforward advice. I don’t think it was delivered harshly. I think it was delivered matter-of-factly. Lots of sellers complain about eBay, but they’re only certain things we can control and we cannot control the company. Therefore, we need to focus on our listings to do the best we can. I personally need to pay more attention to sell through rate!
Yes I didn't in the past but I do now!
It was RUDE. It sounded like a School Marm lecturing her first graders. Just clickbait.
@@NoodlesEaton it was the truth maybe it struck a chord?!?
@@NoodlesEaton sometimes the truth is just blunt. I think she was direct rather than rude.
@@NoodlesEaton
So you've just outted yourself as one of the ones who needed to hear it, right?
Good show!
Go back and listen again.
I appreciate your honesty and no BS approach. Frankly, this approach is much more helpful than the sugar-coating I'm sick of. Thanks for keeping it real!
You're so welcome!
Thank you so. much, you're the best teacher for second-hand selling. I have never know how to compute the sell-through rate and now I do.
Happy to help!
Same here! Now I will start doing it on all my purchases….
It doesn't matter if the category of the item you're selling is oversaturated and is not selling well. Do your research and set your price as the lowest and yours will be the next one to sell!
bad idea
I love how you just give the truth that is the only way to be in everything in life. 😊
I agree
If you have stuff no one wants on ebay, my solution to that was to find Facebook groups to sell them in. My Jeep group, for example, was actually showing a picture of that old school Renegad bottle that someone found at an antique mall and they were all admiring it. So, you may be able to offload that stuff by thinking outside the box.
Very very true great point! That's the way to do it. If it's not working think of other things
I know I get from eBay from what I put into it. If I'm consistent, so are my sales...If I goof off, I have nobody to blame but myself. I am part-time as I work a full time job but I need to build my draft bank up so I can still post. You reminded me of something when I sold my house in 2008. Your house is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. It does not matter how YOU feel because you're not the buyer. Thanks so much for your video.
Yes very very very true!
So you're basically a slave to eBay. You shouldn't have to go through that just to get sales. The platform doesn't work properly.
Kat a great video and a refresher -- I remember all those tips from following you and helping me to get started again selling on Ebay. Thanks for all you do.
You're very welcome ☺️
Thanks for the candid comments. It was blunt, just sincere. I know my photos suck and perhaps no one wants my stuff, but it's all a learning experience and this is how we humans learn. Your wisdom and experience is greatly appreciated, I don't know how old timers on Ebay do it, after 10 days and 77 listing I feel exhausted, but not defeated.
Yeah it can be tiring for sure especially if it's same type items it is monotonous which i think makes it work. We all continually learn and improve as we go :)
Hi Kat, being blunt but honest is the best source of advice. Thanks for another informative video, Randy.
My pleasure!
This was a great reminder of what I am doing wrong! Thanks, Kat, for your bluntness, it does help it sink in!!!
You're so welcome!
Thanks for your time and video. I agree. Some folks needed to hear this 😊
Thanks for watching!
I saw the post that may have spurred this. Well done, Kat. You have worked damn hard to get where you are and deserve all the success. People need to spend more time working and less time comparing. You have taught people tons of valuable information and I appreciate it. Keep kicking ass, girl!
That's the plan my friend!
@@TheNurseFlipper ha. Just realized I commented on the wrong video lol I meant to comment on today’s but you knew what I meant lol
@@BlingaDingDingReseller lol lol yes I did
I was struggling with this very topic. Thank you for the timely advise. I am not one who can read between the lines so I am very grateful for your unvarnished truth about these problems. By following your advise I now can confidently go through my listings and make the necessary changes and move forward.
Glad it was helpful!
This is great information, thank you. I am new to reselling and want to be successful. I appreciate you taking your time to make these videos, and I do like your bluntness .
You are so welcome!
Dalton cracks me up! Adorable! Thanks for the info!
Thanks for watching! He's a funny little man ;-)
I, too, appreciate your advice on selling. As I said before, you inspire me to want to sell more, so I take your advice very seriously. Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊
You can do it! I'm happy to help :-)
Great tips! Thank you for not sugar coating it, many sellers need to hear the truth.
You are welcome and I agree :D
watched this video and I am taking your recommendations and I started reviewing and selling similar and I cant wait to see what happeins! I also just joined your membership and I am excited. Like you I am an RN , I have retired and am finally buying and reselling vintage Jewelry. I love watching you and I am learning . Thank You!
Best of luck in your new venture and I'm very happy to help!
Kat, what a great video! Chock full of valuable common sense advice! Not at all harsh, just honest and straight forward. Thank you!!
☺️🙌🎯
You're so welcome 😉
This is a great video! Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and being straight forward.
You're very welcome
Another great video! You are a plethora of knowledge not to mention a math whiz!! I’m gonna have to save the video so I can go back and relisten to all the percentages and all the other info because…
I am NOT good in math. Anyway, my sales are doing pretty well and I’m starting to really take your advice and pick things up look at them get comps and such… so that has really helped a lot too. I’m definitely gonna go back and look at what sold, how many, etc… I grew up with antiques in my house, but never really thought about it until I started reselling, so I have a fairly good eye, but am I still learning a lot. The most important thing is that I enjoy it !
being retired and 73 with grandchildren, it’s something I enjoy doing when I have free time. I can’t wait to see your most recent video when it airs. I just appreciate it so much that you not only make a make an amazing living, are a loving mother, but you go above and beyond to help others. Thanks for that. 🙋♀️
Thank you so so much, I'm glad to hear things are going well for you!
Excellent math lesson- just facts, numbers don't lie. It's business!
Thank you for the open, honest, and great advice!!!
You are so welcome!
I used to sell in the good old ebay days when I was a stay at SAHM in nursing school. Shipping was 4.95 flat rate back then lol. Even then, shipping was a huge factor. People don't want to pay shipping. It's better to offer lowest possible shipping or free shipping. This isn't amazon or poshmark. People will wait for snail mail if they collect things, which is often cheaper.
Advice well received! Thank you for your time & effort. Ver appreciated and much needed. 😉👍♥️
I'm happy to help!
Very useful information, thank you! These tips have helped me, so now I’m going back through my store looking for adjustments to make. New subscriber here!
You're welcome and thanks for subbing :-)
Thanks for being straightforward with no fluff. I’ve trying to understand sell through rate for days. Thank you
You are so welcome!
Thank you! I needed this step by step of how to figure out sell-through rate! So helpful!
You're so welcome!
Thank you. I knew from the intro I needed this. Good information ❤
You are so welcome
Thank you so very much for explaining how to figure out sell through rate ❤ I love & appreciate your work, videos & tips! thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Thanks, for the reminders. Even though I've been doing this for years, it's good to revisit selling tips.
Absolutely!
Really appreciate the straight forward advice! I have learned that my previous problem has been not paying attention to the sell through rates. I am much better at that now even though it hurts to leave some things behind even if I can buy it cheap. I have a hard time looking things up at yard sales so hopefully I’ve learned enough over the winter to pick up better items this summer.
Yeah I think sell through rate is the hardest especially when stuff is cute and cheap 😆 🤣 😂
Thank you so much for all the great information I think your delivery was perfect and clear and concise leaving no room for confusion or misunderstanding. God bless your efforts. Thank you again.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video with alot of very helpful information & advice. I appreciate the straightforward & to the point advice! I'm currently just selling to downsize but would like to do more reselling in the near future. Your video has really helped me to know what to look for & how to go about it.
Glad it was helpful!
Great info. Thanks for not pulling any punches.
No problem!
Great video. I love your straightforward approach. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the scoop on the sell through rate. Makes sense to not waste time.
You are so welcome :-)
Love it. Newer reseller and listened to alot of resellers and also joined many fb groups to only delete them because the majority complained complained etc etc. Ebay isn't broken thier system is. Appreciate you
No problem, appreciate you watching :-)
This was great! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
My pleasure!
Thanks Kat...I'm a brand new reseller. I've collected for years and never sold. I don't have to shop to sell, but I do love the thrill of the hunt. Will definitely use your great info and may have you take a look at my listing very soon. Dalton is a cutie!!❤
Yes the hunt is the best part for sure!!! Thank you :D
First time to look at your channel. I am appreciative of your honesty. I am new at resellng on Ebay.
Welcome!
I would add on Shipping- check the method you are using- the addition of Ground advantage has made me review my Priority shipping items and change those to ground advantage. Items longer than 22 inches now go UPS ( it's closer to me then Fed EX). Since December 1st, daily I've been doing a deep dive on the 15 oldest items in my store and checking titles, pictures, price & shipping and modifing them before doing end & sell similar. Sold a lot of old inventory in the last 2 months.
That's a great tip!!
I like and appreciate your honest real approach. 😊
Thank you 😊
Thank you. I appreciate bluntness.
Very welcome
I always appreciate your content.....thank you
You are very welcome!
Thank you for the clear demo on how to know what will sell. Very helpful
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the advice! Great video. I do listen to what you teach us! Thanks again! I believe in not sugar coating anything either... telll it like it is. Thats how we learn!
Yes I agree for sure!
Most sellers think it couldn’t possibly be their inventory. It usually is.
Yes a lot of times it is
I've sold things that in my opinion were ready for the rubbish but being brand names meant it sold...you just never know
These are wonderful guidelines to work with. I really appreciate your expert advice ❤. Thank you for giving us information to help us grow our business!
You are so welcome!
Enjoy watching your videos. You explain everything in terms I can even understand👍. Keep in mind getting my power to not kick out when using my toaster at the same time as the microwave puzzles me. Lol.
Happy to hear!
I’m excited for tonight! And especially excited my store won’t be up for review 😳😂💕
hahahahahaha
Great information, I just went in my store and revised several of my titles. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much!!! Thank the good Lord I found this video!!!😊
Welcome, I"m glad you found me :-)
Great advice! Thank you! I remember from sales training years ago: "cost has nothing to do with value." You said it!
Absolutely!
Really great video Kat! ❤
Thank you!!
I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
You are so welcome
I like your directness. This solid advice has been given over and over. I buy lots of the same unbreakable items to resell. I sell very lightweight items. I cannot tell you how many times Ive received lots and they come in a box when a poly mailer is good nough. Not only that, the items smell of mold, they are torn or have big holes and the items although they have store tags attached, have big holes in them. Like the entire order came wadded up in the box. DO NOT DO THIS. buyers will not come back and you will get bad feedback. So if you sell lots, the best ones look like the items were handled with care. Good photos. Know what it costs to ship and ship in appropriate size containers. I received 41 beautiful clean neatly folded items yesterday in the same sized box that the moldy lot of 13 came in. Just because items have a store tag doesn’t mean a thing! Hiding flaws from view is misrepresenting that item. Sellers who ship stinky flawed items will be shown no mercy from me anymore. Im pushing back from now on.
Great points 👈
The Avon stuff I have up was all free, so happy if I get anything for it. Good advice not to purchase empty bottles. The full ones do pretty well.
Yes full does and their jewelry some of it does very well!
I used to think "it was free!" but I find my shelf space is very valuable. If it's something that sells for $10 with low sell through, I am going to pass it on to someone else. It would have to be a quick seller or have a high selling price and a very specialized item to list it. My time is also valuable. It takes the same amount of time to list something that sells
So glad you caught your mistake. I knew that it was the reverse math division because I watch a lot of you great sellers quoting it all the time. Thanks!
This really helped me a lot🎉 Thank you!
Glad it helped!
All good ideas to implement. I have to point out, Mike @ Golden State Picker takes the majority of his pics on his kitchen counter with doors in the background, knick knacks on a cabinet all on his brown/black countertop. He too has exceptional sales. Price/item I would say is most important.
Yes if you have amazing in demand items alot of the other stuff won't matter
Appreciate the advice, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
"The problem is you."
I LOVE IT
So has eBay been getting better? Funny how it's always the seller never eBay. 🤣🤣
I can go a month without listing a single item and have 3-5 sales a week. I can list daily and go a week with no sales. I think the buying public is finicky. eBay does need to fix it's search function, that is broken making it difficult for people to find the items. Great video as always! 🎉
Thanks Dave :D
Exactly !! I always find it bizarre when I go on a crazy listing spree and my sales DROP!
Ebay is broken. I used to do great there but not like I did. They are too busy reaming me with final value fees.
@@NoodlesEaton ebay is not broken.....
Most of my buyers are on the west Coast, so shipping is more for them, since I'm on the East Coast.
Thanks so much for this helpful video!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your advice! So much I still don’t know- I really appreciate your honesty and lesson on how to find out the buy through… I think that’s what you called it. 😅
Glad it was helpful! Sell thru rate :)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just what I needed to see and hear! Is the sell-through information available on my phone or just on the computer?
You can look on both
Straight to the point, thanks!
You're welcome :-)
Fantastic advice! Shoot from the hip! Appreciated !
No problem!

Thank you for your great advice.
You are so welcome!
I recently noticed when a buyer messaged me to advise me my shopping was way off! I had no idea! This truly is a big deal!!! Luckily I was able to fix it for the customer
Yes it really is and most aren't going to tell you they'll just buy elsewhere
Kat, you’re the bomb! Mad respect.
Thank you 😊
Thank you Kat very informative 😊

Wowzer!!! Very useful information 👍🏾

Thank you! great info

Great video! Subbed, thank you
Welcome!
Yay for you, I'm glad you don't sugar coat things but I had three sales on ebay and could've had more. The first was due to a scammer that tried three times on one coin with three different names. One was at my fault, I had tried selling a vintage Costco metal shelf and discovered I couldn't take the top part off in order to ship.. the other two were no where close to what I had as my asking price. I tried talking to someone to explain this and these items were all sold almost immediately after I posted them. I am inexperienced and have tried so many times and got tired of failing, I could use help. Thanks
It sounds like they might have been scammrrs if you haven't yet build your feedback up to 10 by buying cheap items on EBay from different sellers that should help
I feel ebay has lots of potential! I've been a seller for almost 2 years and I get sales at different times. I think people want items that are reasonably priced. I have a store which mostly sells collectables. It's a niche store but I'd like to get more sales in the month. I think i can do it. Great info!
Totally agree!
Things are only worth what people are willing to pay. BTW I like your assistant. Made me laugh and I needed it. I haven't set up my EBAY account yet. Still putting it together.
I hope you get started soon!

You are so correct cuz I sell great on posh but I’m clueless on eBay and guess what I’ve had my account since year 2000 for casual buy/sell. eBay confuses me 😢 P.S omg I’m going to go back and watch ALL of your videos as you are sooo informative and it applies to many platforms!! Thank u sooo much!
You're so welcome. We do ok on posh and mercari but ebay typically is about 10x or more in sales
