Hey I own this motor now...I named it Jane Honda, I think I may have bought it from you maybe...its been working good on the 30 foot racing sailboat I put it on. (the boat is 6400 pounds and the little gal pushes it well enough) I do need some service on it. The pull cord is a tad frayed at the end and I need that replaced and I found a new prop for it but couldn't get the old one off...based on the scratches on the cover at 0:05 and the little white mark on on the cover rubber, pretty sure it is the same motor...message me if you can do little work on it for me sometime this off season..assuming you are in Wisconsin. I am putting an electric conversion in the sailboat but want to keep the outboard for an auxiliary...Cheers...
Hey Tyler we got the same motor. Ours has a problem it runs but then it turns off and gas leaks from one of the lines. It idles for a couple seconds before it stops
@@tylerott9269 we got it running better now. Motor stays running. Now there’s a gas line that goes out of the case thru a hole in the case, is that supposed to drip fuel when running?
Any ideas on where to get parts like water pump parts, it was a bear but got the lower unit separated but messed up part of pump in process. It runs so good I hate to see it goto waste cuz I can't find parts..... thanks
just picked up the short shaft version of this... is there a service manual for this one? My serial plate is toast from something rubbing on it while it was in the boat.. I can't make all of it out.. his widow sold it to me and I had to dig it out from the bottom of his fishing boat with a bunch of gear on it.. Mine looks Exactly like this one without the oil light.
Yes there are some floating around as pdfs online, but you can get a original service manual from honda at publications.powerequipment.honda.com/details/6193503
@@GCguru thanks, got one.. seems like a good motor but there is a lack of parts available if needed.. seems to run good on the stand but we had late snow so I haven't got it out yet
What kind of boat are you testing these motors on ? Is it some kind of Jon boat ? I have the same motor on small fiberglass 3.5m semi speed hull boat , and it bearly planes...
@@tylerott9269 It's maybe 200 pounds... me too :) , sooo we're heavy... Do you maybe know gear ratio for this engine ? I checked the manual and it's nowhere to be found.. Is it 2.33/1 like new motors ?
@@nickmacgillivary8099 Thank you, I did find that out and tested it for power, yes it does provide voltage, but I am not sure if it is regulated enough to directly charge a 12 volt battery. Perhaps a regulator is needed before the battery. Also I would like to oscilloscope the output to see if it is AC or DC. My DVM measured it as both, 12+ volts as DC and 20+ volts as AC.
@@olibobburness7036 I do think I need one as well...my connector sweats gas slightly when not running, so must be enough suction when running to stop the slight leakage. Tried new O-rings but ...no go.
I bought it for my Honda B75 same as in the movie connector in Poland zefir.sklep.pl/zlacza-paliwowe/616-zlacze-paliwowe-suzuki-johnson-evinrude.html Johnson-Evinrude female fuel connector. Work OK ruclips.net/video/HQkzrRZzAtY/видео.html
Looks like a very decent 4 stroke engine for small fishing applications. And more!

Your float height is not set correctly in the carburetor
@@tylerott9269 alright I’ll try that. I’ve been at it for 2 days now thank you

Hey man just a quick question the idler mixture on the carb once it’s lightly seated how many turns back
How can I reach you about a motor just like this?
Runs on straight gas? Or mix?
Straight gas, it's a four stroke
What are the dimensions of a propeller ?

It’s an aluminum 14 ft boat made by richline. Your fiberglass boat must be much heavier

Should these pee as soon as you start it or only after it warms up?
As soon as you start it. I own 2 of these. Well built workhorses.
Anyone know where I can find carb for 4 stroke 7.5 twin Honda ... older mid like this one! Ty
I have one $300

does anyone know what the plug is on the side just behind the shifter
It would be where the accessory charging wire goes to charge a battery if it had the option
