Great video but think I would have put the pin in to wher the hole for cotter pin be next to heat sink so if you have to do it again one less step just pull cotter pin and slide pin out.
Thanks for posting this I’ve got the same motor and need to put in a new impeller and wanted a refresher on what to expect. Do you happen to know the year of yours ? They changed the paint scheme on the cowling thru the years and I was told that by identifying that can tell you what year it was made. Someone told me our paint scheme is 1986 - sounds about right ?
@@JasonSipe16 Thanks for the quick reply. I'm trying to swap lower units and the first shift shaft came out fine. The second one is super tight. Not sure how to pull on it. I might try taking the entire shift shaft out from the top, but that looks tricky too.

I have a similar motor that’s a ten horse. It has ignition points under the cam pulley. I can’t get it to spark.

I think mine was in 1983 or 84
Nice job. How do you get the shift shaft out of the lower unit?
Thanks. The shifter just pulls out. You have to push it it down while moving the prop back and forth slightly to re-engage it when you reassemble.
