It's easy to get excited about "tennis tips" on RUclips. I tried this progression today after watching though and it was quite helpful. Here's to the 'diamond in the rough' of all the tennis youtube videos. Thank you for sharing.
Big lesson . I never understood the serve movement. Few words but really clear.
I have watched a lot of videos but this one is by far the best. Detailed step by step simple approach. Thanks guys.
Fun, Aritz. I've been trying to make this fundamental change for 3 years. Mega muscle memory, or here in Brussels, mega mussel memory...
Thank you for the great inspiration. The idea of actually throwing a racket and make sure the racket rotates vertically with the face closed could be the best tip I've ever collected on the Internet.
I invested £10 for a kids racket for throwing alone and recorded a video of myself throwing the racket from my back with the racket face closed. A great thing about this exercise is that you can immediately get feedback while watching your racket flying. It is crystal clear whether racket rotates with the face opened or closed. Usually, when it comes to a tennis serve, it is very hard to tell what you've just done is good or not, without watching a video, so this is quite exceptional.
Plus, with a video, you can check your form in details afterward. While before trying this practice, even though I already had pretty much detailed knowledge of how the arms and the body should move, I struggled to do it. One of the trickiest aspects was that when the arm reaches the so-called "racket drop position", which is right before the forward movement, the racket face must be closed, the edge of the racket face being almost perpendicular to the back and the racket edge parallel to the side of the body and so on. Even without a ball, I could not really achieve this as the pros do. However, in this exercise, when the racket was flying in the right way, it seems that everything else happens automatically in a good way.
Now at least I can say I can do one thing right about tennis serve. Coordination with a ball toss and adding pronation are the next steps.
as a former coach I use to get old 2nd hand badminton rackets from 2nd hand shops for this drill
Great Attitude Great Instruction Great FUN!!
what beautiful tennis side; court color, trees, facility buildings with balconies...
Good video guys thanks for the tips!!!! This tips works for every level of skills, a great set of drills to master the serve.
Very good lesson for beginners and a reminder for those already involved in tennis.
Really helpful. Thank you.
Wow!!! Amazing advice plus the movement was told by my coach but I didn't listen him! Thank you so much for clearing it
Sergey Belov?! I worked with him one summer in NJ! Hope everything is well my friend! Used some these video before for teaching tips! -D. Salazar
Very good instruction. Easy to understand. Good common sense. Thanks.
it was fun watching this video! the instructions are great!
these are great suggestions . I think it take me many days to try each step one by one.
This video was very helpful. I actually learned a little technique
Great tips, Aritz!
really helpful thanks!
Great video! Well done!
Great! Very valuable lesson Thanks....
Great video!
thanks for the video, this is one of the best video tutorials I've seen hi from Israel.
Nice video, I find half volley technique tricky, and making the right decision whether to take a regular volley instead, which seems the stronger shot, but is hard when the ball is by your feet.
Excellent !! Thanks guys !
Awesome drill. Gonna try it next time I step into a tennis court.
Great tips, thank you
Yeah, lesson learned,I added something to perfect my serve.
Precise drill for not opening the racket face too soon. Bravo glassius
Sergei has one of the most fluid service motion i've ever seen..yes including pros
3:22 when that one ball goes out of the court
i like how you provided several drills to fix these mistakes.
do you have tips on how to get a left turn at the impact I get in part?
You're right: the "pancake serve" is "to avoid". I think it comes from the fact most young players have to "lob the net" at serve during their first years... And they develop bad habits, in competition. That's "the way they win", the way they "climb at ranking", and the way they are "selected". Well, this video shows it: "how to "lob" the net at serve !" Very good video. Let's notice the "huge and instant progress" of pupil Sergeï !
very clear and useful.
great tip !!
Great video just subscribed
Can you show us how to avoid injury when practicing, such as tennis elbow and rotator cuff injury?
Best drill so far on tennis serve, thanks! Can you comment on how to toss the ball please?
Fantastic way to get over the fear of the waiter(pancake) style service.
Just hit with the edge of the racket during service and then only bring in pronation!
I am a coach in Bangalore, India and will incorporate this drill in my coaching
Great!
Great Video. How about the second serve, do I pronate, do I carve the ball. I have no idea.
haz un video acerca del forehand!!! De los errores comunes y tips!!
It would be great if you could do a lesson on sliced backhand!!. It often flies quite high in my case :(
Thanks for your videos!
Thank you
EXCELENTE!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks and where did you buy your t-shirt (written tennis) ?
Once in a while I open the racket just for the fun of hitting the ball as hard as I possibly can, although the consistency goes way down. If Im up in a match, or up 40-0, I might do it because I was thinking I hit the ball a little harder(and its a little fun to hit as hard as I can). Do you think you can maintain all of your velocity on a 1st serve when you add alot of spin as long as the racket speed is the same? Obviously its correct form, as all pros do it, just curious if spin takes any pace off a pancake "swing for the fences" serve you might do just do to see how hard you could hit it. Maybe more of a physics question. Thank you for your videos(especially the kick serve one for me personally)
6:14, 6:28 - in my opinion, perfect motion on both serves
Great drill throwing the racquet....
Good job
another great session- thank you. super energy and natural learning progression. Help please - what exercise/s process do you recommend so that I get a consistent placement of the ball for serving. I have removed the word 'Throw' and 'toss' and now I tell myself to 'Put' the ball in the air. This seems to help a little and reduces my erratic arm movement and I'd like to know what exercise/s you recommend. cheers Robin
Bravo aritz
Very good
best instruction
3:20 JV: Where's the tennis ball going?!
I understood your English sooooo well
Language is like tennis you need to be flexible and adapt your game - the coaching is excellent and builds in sequence. Turn the sound off and let your unconscious mind learn. Keep going guys - great info. Robin
Hello teacher, how should the racket grip be? continental vs
Nice 👍
que manera tan espectacularde ensenhar, jajaja me rei un monton porque yo cometo ese error!!
Putting action in slow motion gives good idea 💡
It's good but what if on other side is Novak Djoković?
If you are Federer than you are good
He's wall.
@@jigorjigor no ur not
@@aleksandartoza7313 No if you are Kyrgios you are good

thank you for the great tips,,,,now, off the fields...for throwing drill.....
Can you make the next video on "how to forehand, backhand & then lob?
James Johnson me too
Is i will serve like this, my serve will have more speed?
good job sergej :-) now bring me a cold Beer... good job Sergej! :-)
What is the reason for this type of serve? Versus the wrist action? I’ve been taught it’s in the wrist snap.
The "wrist snap" is called "pronation". That is the part, as he explains, when you have to turn the racquet from the edge to the face at the moment of hitting the ball.
Would like to see the final instances of the the contact: forearm and wrist rotation. No wrist snap.
Pronation & internal shoulder rotation of the upper arm are the movements. I believe 'wrist snap' is a misnomer describing what happens just before contact if the arm/wrist/hand are relaxed.
yesss
I would suggest you to show the progression and improvement on a club player that actually has the bad habit of the pancake/waiter serve, because your friend has already a good serve. I have been fixing that problem on some students, and it really was a struggle. You make it look way too easy ahaha :)
Um as a player for my maybe 6 years of playing I finally want to get better and I'm already a pretty fair player but I need advice on if a new training I want to do with my coach stupid or pretty smart. Message me back if your open to listen and give feedback on if it's good or bad way to get better.
My experience has been that once adopted, the Pancake/Frying Pan serve is difficult to change. For most students it's the fear of failure.
Serghei it’s funny 😆 👍👍
Sergey can improve his leg drive timing! He is driving his legs not at the perfect moment, unlike Artiz! You can see it by how much the t-shirt is scrambling up on the back. Artiz starts his leg drive when the racquet is almost in a complete dropped position while Sergey starts his leg drive when the racquet is still crossing from right to left above his head. Sergey, I bet 100$ that if you fix this your service will add 10 to 15 mph!
Your technique with the throwing racket, I need to buy 20 more racket.
4:54 !
i get what you are saying, but 99% is a bit harsh, there are a lot of non-pros that are not serving the frying pan way...
100/100
I tend to hit a slice serve when trying this
Its al little different for me because I'm left handed
I need help to throw the ball
But you have a good player. I would prefer to watch how you do this with those who make this mistakes and how you correct it. I mean to watch their way of improvement.
Lo vi completo aún sin entender lo que decian
The low first volley.
Any reason for not hitting pin point serve?
it messes with your balance, and can cause inconsistencies in your swing. It also stops you from being able to utilize your back leg for some extra power.
@@drincmusic2769 actually it helps to use the back leg better if done correctly.

My brain is hitting my skull walls like tennis balls after listening to him
Hi

My mom said to watch this vid to get better but I'm already a pro LOL
If you throw a racquet end over end it flips. Scary.
🙋♂️🙋♂️ pancake serve here
Ohh gosh! How can I throw my racquet as it's somewhat delicate+expensive man!!!!
Just buy a cheap kids racquet.
The pancake serve😂😂😂
Habla como Tarzán
Hey, guys. Every ESL speaker has accents from its mother tongue inevitably. "Moru(More) imporutant(important)" etc... Take it easy. Peace.
Yeah wtf lol. What's annoying is that I bet that every cunt that's complaining about that can't even speak another language properly. If you don't understand Aritz in this video then you definitely have a hearing problem
This is a tennis channel and certainly not an English learning channel!!!... So, whoever cares about his accent should go to other channel learning english, they are in the wrong place...
I bet you can kill it singing tears for fears on the karaoke
And in one vid it said how to padle board I then I was a pro already
Drahhin do hid da racoot.
what you gonnaaa!!!!
Is this flat serve?
