      right but if you are going off road with a large cattle trailer to haul them from one place to another. Or follow Rodeo or show tours this would be a lot nicer. You can get a basic M2 or Kenworth if that is all you need, or you can get a nicer one. The one thing they missed on this is a switch that will also lock the front brakes, it is on tow trucks and would be handy for a rig like this. He did not say it was for you did he?

      I don't know where the line is but it would be either classified as tractor or a straight truck. From what I've heard years ago you pay extra federal taxes for tractors vs a straight truck and it has to do with flat beds and the square footage of the bed. Since he mentioned "road taxes" I think it would probably be in the tractor category. And it is in no way a "pickup".

    If you have a blowout on super singles, you have to replace a rim and tire, not just a tire. Not to mention super singles are nearly twice the price of a standard tire. Super singles are great for fleets who want to maximize fuel economy or for industries that go off road and want to keep their budd spacing clear, but they don't make sense for o/o or civilians. Especially since this truck doesn't have the fancy auto inflators on it, not that they do that much good. Super singles will cost more in the long run unless you are running thousands of trucks and can reap the miniscule savings from fuel efficiency.

    While I like Andra's enthusiasm and I know you all want pay checks so sponsored bits are necessary. But you need a little more transparency; as you can get a four door from everyone but Mack, and they all can be had with four wheel drive or six wheel drive from the respective factory. The M2 Business class is in the same range as International's XT chassis which the CXT was built on. KW's T300 or T370 as well as Peterbilt's 325 or 330 and Western Star's 4700 are all in the same general class of truck.
    And as I said in the last video, the mark up from Summit Haulers is ridiculous for the little amount of work they do to the truck. Again I know you all need paid, but nearly 90-95% of the stuff on that Freightliner came from Freightliner's factory. Summit added: the leather, the cameras, the folding rear seat the hauler bed and maybe the audio.

    That’s a nice freight liner but man still Ford makes one hell of a truck when the video showed the drone footage from above the ford didn’t look that much smaller or shorter than the freightlliner now if you would even compare a f350 dually or even a f250 longbed that was lifted I’d say they’d be almost the same size from length perspective, but if you ask me I’d go with a f450 that’s the ultimate Tow rig if you ask me it’s got the Horsepower Torque payload capacity and what everyone loves about f450’s the wide spread front axle that makes it smooth as butter when turning

    • @badgerpa9
      @badgerpa9 4 года назад

      You mean like butter just from the refrigerator or sitting out in 80 degree weather? The ford is right for many people but this is right for many also. It will outlast the ford and will handle more depending on what the body company derates the weight as.

    Wide tires bind when turning, put your fist down flat on any surface and turn it, then do it with 2 fingers instead of 4.... dont get me wrong, super singles are great but limited in application.
    Duallys and tandem duallys turn easier, so it's easier on everything from sway bars to air bags, it's easier on the tires, not as much heat, not as much wear... super singles heat up more than the duallys, bad for tires, they wear faster. They cost alot more to make, not everyone can mount them or has the equipment to mount them....Supers on the front are great, we have been using them on dump trucks for years but they do slide more in mud and snow.... you can carry 2 spare tires in place of one super single.. the only real downside to duallys is off road, getting debris and or rocks between the tires can be a major disaster... and well, you should really take an air brake course, you have 2 tanks, one main, one emerg....that plastic tab... LMAO is NOT for adjusting them....thats on the shaft....at the other end.....

    Does it require a CDL to operate it?

    • @badgerpa9
      @badgerpa9 4 года назад +1

      You need to check your state laws to know that, are you using it commercially or personally. So many people have no clue and say yes by size but that depends on where you license it. I would not need a CDL where I live if I bought it for my farm or a grocery getter, but I have no money to buy it.

    My work truck is an F-550 Supercrew with an 11ft. bed. Towing about 10k pounds I get 8-9 mpg. If this truck does as well as it claims, Ford should be embarrassed.

    • @iqinsanity

      6 gears in a heavy hauling diesel isn’t enough.
      No disrespect, but I’m guessing you’ve never towed 40,000+ pounds
      When you pay more than what a semi costs you don’t expect a severe downgrade in drivetrain.
      I have a dd15 and dt12 in my truck and to be honest this truck should also. My cascadia cost less.

    • @iqinsanity
      @iqinsanity 4 года назад

      When your “grocery getter” diesel rev’s to 3500-4000 rpm 6 gears seems like a lot. When your heavy duty diesel has a 1200-1800 rpm power band and won’t go over 2000 you need double the gears.

    • @iqinsanity
      @iqinsanity 4 года назад +1

      No one spending 200k on a truck is spending down time fixing it themself. This isn’t a F250.
      A 2 speed powerglide with very wide gears is technically enough. If you don’t care about towing anything. There’s a reason class 8 trucks have 12+ gears. They are needed.
      Again, until you pull 40,000+ pounds with a truck that starts it’s power band at 1500 rpm and leaves it’s upper limit of its power band at 1800 rpm, you won’t understand why even 12 gears is low.
      Pull 50,000 pounds up a mountain then come back saying you’re happy with a 6 speed.

    • @iqinsanity
      @iqinsanity 4 года назад +1

      Also, to clarify I don’t own the truck my employer does. It’s my assigned vehicle.
      It’s my “dream” to buy an older one, remove one of the axel’s and put a pickup bed on it.
      Could be done for under $20k. Used trucks go as low as 15k and for non commercial use would still be reliable.

      If you use it for commercial driving and depending on your state. In FL, I could register a true semi for RV use with standard driver license or need a CDL for a F350 DRW with a heavy trailer, commercially.

    • @badgerpa9
      @badgerpa9 4 года назад +1

      It depends on the state you license it and what you will use it for. and do not believe it requires an air brake anything uinless your state say so. There are a lot of people that have no clue and just tell people yes because they are stupid. I would not need any special license or cdl if I got it for my use.

      Apparently it’s a full time 4x4 system with what seems to be equipped with a locking center differential. Andre was mentioning that the truck is rear wheel bias and it monitors for slippage. Then you flip the lock switch, and you pretty much have the equivalent of 4 high on a part time system as he shows at 19:30.
