I suggest backing the Razor into the trailer so the engine is closer to the 5th wheel axels.

If he doesn’t find something to complain about he doesn’t have a video. He has to know better than to load the trailer the way he has. If it sways behind a rig then it is a loading issue. 🤷‍♂️

As others have noted, sway is usually due to improper weight balance. You can verify this by pulling it with and without the side-by-side. If the problem goes away unloaded, you have your answer. To remedy, you'll need to get more weight forward of the axles. The semi having the same issue also confirms weight distribution as being the most probable cause.
The trailer's stated hauling capacity by the MFG is usually figured with a basic version of the trailer, completely empty. Options added by the dealer/you and cargo will reduce it. Those little things can add up very quickly. Notice the sticker says the weight of cargo should never exceed 3690lbs. It doesn't say specifically that's the amount it can actually handle. You can find the real capacity with some basic math and measurements. Weight it loaded (any luggage, food, water, clothes, etc.) and subtract that number from that 16800lb GVWR. There's your true excess cargo capacity. Based on the info in the video, your realistic capacity is probably only roughly 1500lbs. That's assuming you get more of weight over the tongue to keep your rear axles from being over-loaded as well.
You may well find you need a bigger trailer with more capacity, or you need to figure out a way to lighten the load on your current one. You definitely need to resolve the matter, as the legal (civil and criminal) liability from pulling an over-weight trailer is significant. If you get in an accident, any 2-bit lawyer will have a very easy case against you. That's not a risk that's worth taking, IMO.

Add a axle and try to shift as much weight as you can forward.
The heavier weight in a RV as you have should always go as far forward as you can. The heavier weight in the back will always cause a trailer (RV) to sway.
Their are several videos showing how the heavier weight in back will cause a vehicle to sway with weight distribute in the back.
I pulled a RV several years with my 2004 4X4 Silverado. I pulled a Jayco Pinnacle, it was a 43'.

  • @RanLes7
    @RanLes7 5 месяцев назад

Nice rigs for sure! Backing the razor in will definitely help weight distribution… Also, make sure when you load the front part of your RV make sure you put most of your carry on up front in the overhead bed area if you can to add more weight to your hitch.

Just a thought we used to have sway with car transporters in Uk. ( 13 car carriers 65 ft long). When new tyres were fitted ( super singles special tyre for transporter trailers), until shoulder on tyres wore in we would experience a sway like that . We would also run overweight on axles due to different vehicle sizes that had to be loaded. We would squeeze everything on .

The reason they won't void your warranty, but specifically state that they won't cover anything related to those modifications, is because that is literally the law. It has been since 1975 per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. What's cool here is that, unlike most companies, they are obeying this law and being 100% transparent about it. Most companies disobey this law and/or lie.

As a rule of thumb, you want to carry more weight than you pull. You’ll always want just a touch more weight on the drives than your tandems, as best you can. I’m a nobody, I know… However, having the axles further back would help your situation. 😊

The air conditioner, all the cabinets, the tv’s, convection oven I honestly think it’s because these things have a lot of weight up high.

The leveling system on the three-axle trailer goes down before going up because these cheap and crude hydraulic systems don't have bi-directional valves for each ram, so they can can only retract together, or extend them individually. That means they need to start with the RV low... and they do that by retracting (all of) the jacks, then extending them in whatever combination achieves level. If they miss and adjust, they can only drive the RV higher in the adjustments, so it always ends up higher than it would be if competently adjusted manually.

Usually those big toy haulers are 3-axle units for good reason, and towing one of those with commercial 5th wheel I would be careful stay off sharp driveway transitions that make the truck and trailer want to tweak against each other. Those RV's frames aren't really meant to handle the stress of a hitch that doesn't side tilt.

And by upgrading tire rating that will also help with your tire on your trailer and that rolling that your taking about and will help with a premature were of the tires

You have the room so what I would do is ,get yourself custom built 4 foot high / 6 foot long aluminum triangle ramp. Storage underneath and safety strap S/S to frame of ramp. A ramp they use on the back of P/U trucks .

You could have had the fellas at Featherlight in Clear Lake Iowa just build you a six slide NASCAR trailer with a garage on the upper deck. Build to suit.

Perhaps you could try backing your side by side. And that might put the weight closer to the axles unless on the tail.

I suggest loading the sxs in backwards to get the motor weight closer to axels. Wont help a ton but might be just enough.

Backing your sidexside in would help but I never had an issue when I pulled my 44' RAPTOR toy hauler with my single wheel 1 ton 4x4 Ram Grant it I had an extra axle but I know for a fact I was much heavier as well.
