    I was never confused as to why Lestat saved Louis. It's the same reason why Louis refused to burn Lestat, even though he knew that could potentially put Claudia in danger. He just couldn't do it. I was more baffled by how Armand could love Louis on the one hand but also be able to watch him die. So cold!

    • @darakeaddy6678

      Yeah I would really like someone to explain Armand's actions in the TV series. Why would Armand want Louis dead when he clearly seemed to love him and want him. What was the motivation of Armand during the trial, why did Armand go along with the idea of killing Louis.

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin 5 дней назад +5

      Because they have a toxic relationship, and Louis has been having psychological _issues_ ever since he became a vampire.
      Lestat isn’t as good, as what it appears to be, until he’s there, and realized, that he actually cares for Claudia too.
      He was always there to save Louie, because he understood why Louie did it.
      They’ve also made Lestat far more powerful, than how the books made him, until he drank from Akasha, and he wasn’t so much more powerful than Armand.
      I hope they’re setting up Lestat’s story, because it’s very different, from what Louis knew, and who knows how they’ll change things for how his music awakens Akasha, or other plot points, from that dated book.
      It’s far superior to Interview, as a reading experience, but it’s not as timeless, because his being a hair metal frontman, in the 1980’s, is how he awakens her, and calls out all the vampires, like they just had Louie do, at the end of this show.
      They’ve made Louie, much more powerful and dangerous, as well, as I think who one is made by and drinks from, very much makes huge differences in power.
      No one mentioned Marius, other than Armand, in his very short version, of his origin story. So, that will be a nice surprise, for later.
      The way they speak of Magnus is odd, because Lestat never even knows his name, unless I’m misremembering it, for. The book. He gets turned, and then the guy jumps in a fire.
      It’s been many years, so I’ve likely blended the 90’s movie, other media and a bad memory, all together. Sorry, if I did.

      He’s nothing like the book, but a lot is nothing like the books.
      I disliked the first season, until the very end, but this season had some of my favorite episodes of a series, so far this year. Odd.
      I don’t think I’ve ever felt such a dramatic shift, into a better show.
      It’s most likely, that Armand had a plan as well, but they may have changed that, for this adaptation, so Armand can make a bigger sacrifice, in the future.

    Um..... Lestat clearly wasn't in Paris for revenge. You forget that this has been Louis's self-serving, guilt-ridden and ignorant perspective. Lestat was clearly in Paris to try to save them. He knew that the "trial" play was going to happen whether he comes or not but if he doesn't come then both Claudia and Louis are dead. But if he comes, then he can try to save them, at least one of them. That's why he went off script so much and took responsibility for every wrong he did to them. He was trying to sway the coven's opinion. When that failed, he knew he only had the power to save one of them and he is always going to choose for Louis to live. Because he loves him above anyone and anything else,, including himself.

Lestat went to Paris to save the three, so much so that he saved Louis, but he no longer had the strength to save Claudia and Madeleine, even though he tried. Lestst never went to Paris with the desire for Louis to die. He went there with the intention to try and save Louis because he knew he couldn't save Claudia because of her age.
    Also, Lestst didn't rescue Louis because he couldn't. He was still weakened by the attack on him by Louis and Claudia. Lestat at full strength is one of the strongest vampires in existence. Armand nor Louis could kill him even if they teamed up to try. Also at this point they'd have to burn Lestat's body for days to fully destroy him.

  • @destynihamilton1503

    Louis attacked Lestat because he choked out Claudia. He literally said "I'm going to choke you like you did our daughter" he was protecting Claudia and snapped it wasn't him assaulting him for no reason. I think that was one of the very few times where he truly protected her like a father would and wasn't putting Lestat before her.

      @BeyondThePaleStudios 5 дней назад +6

      which is the real reason that Armand was so quick to give Louis up. When it appeared he was coming to Lestat's aid he didn't hesitate. If you notice in the show, Armand suspected everything from the start and only seduced Louis to get the story out of him, the one that would allow him to put on the play. He knew Lestat would appreciate the theatrics of it all. What he didn't count on was Lestat coming to save Louis and not to run into Armand's savior complex. Everything from his past to louis and Lestat...he always spoke of saving his "loves"...He just never understood why Lestat never wanted or needed a savior. Armand's motives are far less complex than he is being credited for.
      I think Armand may even lead the charge for Lestat's death at the concert in season 3. I'm calling it; Akasha will rescue him in the season 3 finale and season 4 will conclude The Queen of the Damned with Akasha's story being told through her blood within Lestat. I feel that the only changes to the original story will revolve around Louis's involvement. It will be much larger in the show and will cause a lot of changes to the narrative including a battle for Lestat between Louis and Akasha where Lestat will have to choose to save Louis once more and turn on Akasha. Which has always been my gripe with the book and the movie. Lestat having any other love entanglements of any significance that is not directly involved with Louis makes no sense. This series will make for a much more in depth and complex story, and I am here for it.

    Upon rewatch of episode 8 what Armand did was the ultimate bitch move by taking credit and lying like that but I understand why he did it. A person who was exposed to sexual traumas isn’t going to know what real and genuine love is so he’s gonna build a wall around themselves that’s when that survival instinct kicks in. Armand thought what he and Lestat had was love until Lestat ghosted him so he basically said fuck it I won’t throw my heart away again. Armand allowed his attraction to Louis to blind him for 77 years when in reality he should’ve loved himself enough to be companion enough for himself cuz he doesn’t know how to love.

    I felt like this iteration of Lestat maybe initially wanted revenge on Claudia and for her to die for what she did to him or at least that's what he told himself but i think deep down in the end he allowed her to die because in his own way he saw it as a mercy, he was correcting the mistake he made when he created her he knew what the dark gift would eventually do to her that being trapped in the body of a child would drive her insane and she would die eventually anyway. I think in his own way he loved her he was definetly proud of her ruthless murderous capabilities but he had no idea how to be a parent his own father was abusive and as much as he hated him he ended up repeating the cycle with Claudia, you can feel his grief at her death and guilt at the end of season 2 but that still doesn't negate the fact that he saw it as necessary, I think he told himself he wasn't prolonging her pain by allowing it to happen but wasn't prepared for how defiantly gruesome her death was.

    Neither Lestat or Louis are all saints or victims the point is each of them have their OWN percepective and have reasons for justifying their actions to each other. Lestat did see how bad dropping Louis was until he was focused to rethink his decision when he was hewling in the coffin for all those years. Lestat didn't just "want Louis to be happy" if that was the case he would have let him go on eating animals snd coming to terms of being a vampire on his own. Both Louis and Lestat have their perspectives that doesn't count out each others. They are BOTH were both abusive to each other and need to grow and learn.
    This show is Rollin's perspective of the characters and he is showing that all the characters are flawed and contribute to their pain yes Louis was an unreiable source but the key events that broken their relationship is the same. Someone said it perfectly Louis needed Lestat to show him how to embrace the dark gift. While Lestat needed Louis to show him how to embrace his humanity.

    I know we've been talking about Least here, and yes I too felt and knew it was Lestate saving Louis his one true love. But what I still can't understand is why if Armond wanted Louis to die on the stage did he go back and save Louis from the box? Why did he let him out? Why didn't he just put it back like it was never moved? Armond could go out into the sun the rest of them couldn't, so it seems to me like the vampires all went into there coffins very early in the night because Louis seems to have had a lot of time and was in no danger of the sun catching him. Maybe Louis arrived just as night fell and they hadn't gotten up yet? 🤔 I have so many unanswered questions, I just don't know. Hopefully we can answer more questions in season 3, I believe the sun has no affect on Least, because of two clues. One even though he reached his hand out quickly and pulled it back in in the coffin Louis left him there was no smoke coming off his arm in the daylight. Two when Least carried Louis back up the stairs after he ran out of the house and got burned, I remember Lestat put him down and then closed the skylight, where the sun was coming in from the ceiling. If he was truly affected by the sunlight, he wouldn't have had it open in the first place. Remember there were things he did to hide just how powerful he actually was from Louis.

    I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not but after watching it I'm honestly so in love with lestat and the other character I mean I literally cried at the end of the season you could just tell how much time left him and I hated the way Louie treated him 0 I was honestly like so beautiful like I literally bawled like a baby

    But the only thing I wasn't sure about was at the end when he went back to the start it's like did they get back together I hope he did because again with that really loved him and they should end up together so hopefully they do end up together because Lisa really loved him with all his heart
