interview with the vampire was and still is one of my favourite movies of all time Lestat and Louie are my favourite vampires because they are portrayed as tragic creatures instead of evil bloodsucking monsters

Great video but a few errors. Magnus I think was much older than 300 years in fact he was almost a ancient by that time and ancient vampires like Magnus were forbidden to make fledglings because they are so powerful. Powerful ancients that made other vampires passed on much of their strength to their fledglings and thats partly why Lestat was so powerful and had many gifts. Now he got a lot stronger by drinking the blood of Marius and Akasha. For a vampire of only 2 or 3 hundred years Lestat was just as strong as some of the children of the millennium and after drinking from Akasha he was as powerful as vampires of the first brood. And I do not think Lestat was the most evil vampire and in fact as far as vampires go I think Lestat kept a lot of his humanity. Fascinating books and incredible lore IMHO. Great video. ;)

Hell one of the twins has been stealing mortal eyes for thousands of years. How many thousands of blind people has she created just to cure her own blindness?

"Forbidden" is a strong word. Vampires were loners and didn't have lots of rules between them. Stay out of each others way, no children, and don't kill your maker... I think they were careful about who and when they made fledglings, but the "rules" weren't in place until Prince Lestat when Marius tried. Totally agree with the rest of your reply :)
Yes also lestats's creation was quite a brutal ritual magnus did to him giving and draining him several times I believe that also contributed to his powerful gifts as a young vampire Magnus wanted to ensure lestat had all he could offer

I read Interview at the age of 16 and never looked back on Anne Rice. I’ve read every single one of Anne Rice’s Vampire books. I’ve also read Sleeping Beauty series (hole crap! Amazing), Servant of the Bones, Cry to Heaven, The Feast of All Saints, Mayfair Witches, Jesus series, The Mummy, Ramses Series. I read a couple of her son’s book also, not bad, he shows promise, we’ll see.
I remember reading the twilight series and thinking “what the hell?! These are NOT vampires!” Anne’s vampires are the gold standard and will always be. Louie is my favorite. When he finally leveled up the excitement I felt stayed with me for a long time. I really wish he’d been used more in the Chronicles.
Thank you Anne, for all the hours of entertainment, enjoyment, and wonderment. For pulling me into the worlds you built. Yours was the first book I picked up and read because I wanted to, and not because I had to. I’ve never looked back, it’s because of you that 30yrs later I’m still an avid reader. Your passing was a devastating loss to the literary world. You’ll always be missed.

I discovered the "Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" when she still was writing under an alias....Mannnnn....Those books are sizzling, HOT!!!!!! I do not knock "50 Shades of Grey," but someone recommended it, and I immediately told them to reach for Beauty, and it changed their life....Uh, for good? Maybe not, but damn sure for better LOL
She wasn't okay writer but towards the end of her life she kind of became a piece of shit sorry for saying it but it's true She became super Christian and very anti-gay which is fucked up since her son is gay. The fact that her newer books were just crazy Christian ramblings She lost the point a long time ago unfortunately She used to be a good writer back in the '70s and '80s and early '90s.
Merrick was a sleeper!! Idk too many folks who read it but that was a great story.
Finally! Hahaha I always end up debating how “Twilight “ are not Vampies hahaha I grew up on Dracula true Vamp hahaha But, also I feel so lame that I’ve never read the books because all you wrote makes me like I’ve missed out!

Well, he hasn't covered the Talamasca, which he would need to do in order to do the Body Thief, that's at least another hour (or more). I can see why he'd just not cover it for that reason.

Okay so I’m 19 minutes in and I’m right up to the spot where I’m at on the Anne rice series that brought me here so it only feels right to pause and come back after season 2 finale.
How are you liking season 2 so far?
@@talkingback369 I just finished the second season it’s probably in top 3 for me now of tv shows but the second season was filled with every emotion on the spectrum! It keep me on the edge of my seat every week for at least an hour! I’m kinda lost right now haha but I’m rereading the queen of the dammed so maybe that will suffice for now.

@@musiclove5935 I would first start with reading the books it goes more depth than the actual movies or the TV series does. It will give you a better understanding of the character's and how they connect. Also you learn more about The Talamasca too.

The books were amazing with 'Queen of the Damned' being the best! Have you read "The Necroscope" book series by Brian Lumley? For me, these are the best vampires ever written! Book 3: The Source is where you find out where the Wamphyri come from and how they live, so cool! Thanks for this great vid! Cheers 🥂

Not sure if it was clear about when Akasha was beheaded . The huge glass window was shattered and If i remember correctly it happened by accident. When it happens it severs the Queen's head.
I usually love ur videos but this one was just not good. It's a very choppy compilation. It's editing is very sloppy and 1 book wasn't even mentioned! I was so looking forward to this only to end up quite disappointed.

Anne Rice changed the story of Memnoch because she embraced her Christian Faith. She not longer felt the way she did before, thus the story changed. Her words; not mine.

I always have thought that Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt should have switched parts. I feel the aesthetic of Brad Pitt seemed more believable has unhinged and erratic where Tom Cruise doesn’t play unhinged as well, he is stronger playing calculating, scheming, planning parts.
Just guessing, but at that time Brad Pitt was the sweet heart throb they probably didn’t want him to play such a dark character…but imagine

This is a fantastic video. So happy I found u but I was a little disappointed. The part where u tell us lestat goes to sleep hoping to be awakened by Marius everything skips. We don’t get to hear how that happened. All of a sudden you’re talking about ankil trying to kill lestat. I can’t imagine how you posted it like that? Did u not watch it b4 hand? I’m sorry but it was really annoying and I for one would like to know how lestat first met Marius. If I hadn’t seen Queen of the damned I would have been utterly clueless with who ankil was etc..but of course I still clicked the like button but please is it possible to address the issue? It’s a big important gap in the story to miss.

I enjoyed the first book, but i found the series devolves into nonsense the further it gets. It's grounded (for a vampire story) initially, but it just gets too silly later on.

I may be a dissenter here, (I haven’t read all the posts), However I believe Tom cruises was a terrible choice to play Lestat. It was just painful to watch him just be himself. To be fair, I am also not convinced Brad Pitt was the best choice for Luis’. He’s pretty, but no bloodsucker, not even a reluctant one.
Weirdly enough Lestat is the only role I enjoyed from Tom Cruise. Maybe you are right it was good because he wasn't acting but being the psycho he really is.
I was so young when I first saw and I fell in love with story and premise, then I didn’t think deep about the actors, but now I get what you mean…because the actor who plays Lester on the series, man he eats that role!

I'm new to the books and am only on the Body Thief so far. It seems strange that the author started the books with Louis but then mostly drops him from the story. I'm glad we have the AMC show as an alternative narrative. I'm grateful for this summary because perhaps I can just focus on the books that have the characters I'm interested in. Thank you!
