Knowing Lestat has unlimited funds yet is sooo wrapped in depression over Claudia and the possibility that Louis was dead was just sooo sad.. I think Lestat didn’t tell Louis it was him bc once he saw Louis let Armand live and killed everyone else he decided to let them stay together as a way to punish Louis. To let his happiness be a lie at the end.
Louis was Claudia's revenge for the vampires. She got her revenge on Armand because all that needed to happen was louis to find out the truth. And she got her vengeance on Lestat with that last look that has been haunting him
I knew from day 1 (of the interview together) that Armand had his hand on Louis's brain. He was making him recount things differently and when he wasnt doing that, he was telling conflicting stories. The first sign was him telling Louis in the museum that he was sold by his parents. But when Daniel was remembering 73, Armand told him he was kidnapped by slave traders. Two different perspectives of the same story. I loved this show! Im going to binge the entire series now, to catch the discrepancies.
@@possiblymaybe6711 in the book, Armand was kidnapped and then sold into slavery. His parents loved him. What he told Daniel in 73 was the truth. What he had told Louis in the museum was a lie. He was gaining sympathy points with Louis.
@@Pooobaihr23Armand's parents could have sold him to the slavers, and the slavers then chased him down to capture him. Like the previous comment said, both things can be true. Like we have seen, Armand is a lier, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything he said is a lie.
I don’t think so. Armand planned this from the beginning. As soon as he found out Louie was Lestat’s lover. I wouldn’t be surprised if Armand knew who Louie was before he set eyes on Louie. That’s why he made Claudia the “star” of that play. He knew her weakness therefore he made her relive her trauma through those plays. Armand wanted to hurt Lestat through Louie. That’s was he planned on Louie to die.
This finale was everything! Louis's journey has come to a full circle. Seeing his growth and learning to heal just makes me so proud of him. That last line... I OWN THE NIGHT! YASSSS LOUIISSSSS
So in the Anne Rice Eternal universe; when Hurricanes occur it’s because a Mayfair witch has died so I wonder if that will tie into the deaths of Deidra or Tessa Mayfair since both witch’s died in season one
@laneygomez2385 Well, also, in an earlier episode of this season when Armand is describing how Lestat kept going off-script during Louis, Claudia, & Madeleine's trial, he said: "Trying to script Lestat is like trying to control a hurricane 🌀. " So it may have just been that & they used a literal hurricane as a metaphor.
When Lestat said “I can’t get her out of my mind.” & he asked Louis if he hurt himself. Lordt! That finale & the ending was so much emotion! & when Louis leaned in & hugged him😭😭😭😭😭😭😫😫😫😫😫😫😫If this damn series don’t get all the awards, I’m fighting somebody on sight! Armand was a POS from jump! I always thought that about him. & ol Danny boy was definitely out here doing the Lord’s work with exposing Armand.
Yeah that’s when I realized age ain’t nothing but a number for these vampires.😂 It’s a factor, but I guess it’s really about how strong their bloodline is.
If Daniel was a force to be reckoned with before, he's going to be beyond badass now and I can just imagine him using his powers for journalism work! Armand is such a deadbeat maker, not surprised he turned Daniel. On another note, another exhilarating ending with Louis challenging all those vampires to essentially, come at me bitches! Own the night indeed!
Ho...lee... Shyt! I knew it! I knew Armand was a POS this whole time. I kept saying it. Him and Louis didn't feel right. He was gonna let Louis die! And my pookie bear Lestat held that in all those years. He loved Louis so much he let that snake have him, he knew Louis would always be his. That reunion OMG my heart is in my throat. Powerful. Poor Claudia. I felt when Lestat looked at her as she was leaving. Big ups to my man Detective Daniel, he pulled it all together 😄
I've been telling my wife since Season 1 to watch out for that Armand fucker; I remember him in the books being the biggest liar/manipulator/illusionist in the book(s) -maybe one of the most evil of the vampires (and incidentally, one of the most religious).
the siri pause callback joke to multiple times in the show where music playing, that you think is in the background, actually being played by the characters. i love it!! such genius writing. just made the emotional rollercoaster all the more intense.
Magnus was looking for his perfect blond replacement, Lestat had been locked in the tower for quite awhile trapped amongst the bodies. Now you know why he's Prince Lestat.
When they were in that embrace during the hurricane and the winds were getting stronger, i so wanted to see the roof fly off the hinges and see Lestat use his cloud gift to whisk him and Louis away to safety. I would have loved that
As a book reader, I was confused as to why the show wouldn't explain the "vampire powers/abilities " and how they are obtained. Now I can see why. I truly enjoyed this season. I tried to set aside the comparison of the books vs the show and appreciated the show for what it is, great! The writers, directors, and actors were amazing 👏 🤩 👌 🍒
As as reader too I was like that didn’t happen in the books however I did enjoyed this adaptation so much, They did an amazing job PS I will always be Team Lestat Foreva!😂
Lestat was "King of Mardi Gras " (Raj) in 1940 New Orleans. The name "Sebastián Melmoth" (mentioned by the tour guide) was the name sometimes used by author and playwright, Oscar Wilde ("The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Importanceof Being Earnest"). In IWTV, Lestat uses the name Sebastián Melmoth to set up accounts to buy the townhouse and to purchase new clothing and furniture upon his arrival in New Orleans. Before arriving in America, Lestat had been "asleep" over 100 years and was still wearing his 18th/19th century apparel (take notice of his out-of-date clothing when he is on the street of the French Quarter when he first sees Louis).
It was such a good episode, and a fitting end to such a great season. I had tears during multiple scenes, and that picture of Paul brought back bittersweet memories of his human life. I’m happy that he and Lestat were reunited at the end of this season. Loustat forever ❤
When we understand that the answer to the question "why did you cross an ocean to rehearse a play that would result in your daughter's death?" is "to try and save you", that is such catharsis and resolution and forgiveness. I've been haunted by that scene with the two of them in the hurricane. Lestat was redeemed, and Louis showed he wasn't the perfect angel either. So happy and relieved we're getting a season 3!! However, I don't think Lestat meant it when he said he was going on tour. I think he's not in his full right mind, and he needed an awakening before we move on to the events of the second book. AND I hope we get a flashback of what exactly happened to Daniel.
@@purplepheasant4776 not at that moment. He didn't have the idea of screen. And he would be way happier and chaotic and would be rehearsing with real instruments.
That last scene with Louis and Lestat had me in my feelings. I was so taken by the two of them. Further more knowing that this was the real Lestat and not a memory - The love! Gosh. I'm obsessed
The way Louis finally DECLARED N CLAIMED the GIFT.. I OWN THE NIGHT.. Of course Lestat Saved Loius, bcuz Loius saved Lestat. He left Lestat in the coffin instead of burning him.
I absolutely love how this show plays with perspective in terms of how the stories are told to the point where you really never know what the truth is. I love when the writers don’t spell out every single detail and allow the viewer to interpret the story in their way. This show is so brilliant.
Let’s keep this real… Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid , chile, are fine looking men. I know, don’t come at me, Assad looks, the actor, are on point, beautiful as well.
Thank you for posting this! I don't know anyone who watches the show so i really needed to get another perspective. You even gave me things that I missed from the show. Like the rock garden and the picture of Louis's brother. I DID NOT SEE THAT! LOL.
The realization that Lestat could have mind controlled Louis the same way Armand did but he didn’t. He never did other than harassing him to come to him. He allowed him to love or not love him on his own. Also, I realized now that Sam was not really there guarding Armand but was another memory plant of Armand to make it seem he was held hostage as well. I just got that. Also the contractor thing was an implanted memory too. Also in the scene with Lestat when he says I knew you would figure it out all hail me, there was pain there as well because it took Louis 77 years to figure it out. I think Lestat was miserably waiting for him to figure it out. I think Lestat and Louis are not actually over. It just depends on how willing they are to deviate from the original text to make it happen.
I truly enjoyed your commentary! And when I tell you, I cried real raw tears for Lestat and Louis's reunion. No lies! Superb writing and heartfelt acting! Lord have mercy. It was a great ending.

It was a great episode. Very touching. I love Louis' vengeance tour. I loved the insults with Santiago, it's the way guys would insult each other. The scene with Lestat in Magnus' tower was awesome. "I'm not in the mood" meaning mess around and find out what not holding back looks like.
I haven’t even viewed episode 8 yet and I don’t regret watching your video review but when I saw Claudia yellow dress and his brothers picture on the wall in the beautiful mediation rock room it literally brought tears to my eyes. Don’t care if I have to be clocked in at work by 430 am but I can’t sleep on this and wait the next day to watch it on DVR. Thank you for the review ❤.
I now get why Armand didn’t pass that message to Louis from Lestat. He knew the whole time that he was on thin ice. Lestat was the only other living soul who knew the truth. Well other than Sam. I wonder why he wasn’t concerned about Sam telling the truth.
At first I was confused on how Louis was able to overpower Armand and knock his ass against the wall so easily so I'm guessing two things: Armand let Louis beat his ass because in his mind even he knew he deserved it or Louis mentioned he had the blood of Queen Akasha in him too because Lestat is his maker so because of this Louis is a abnormally strong vampire for his age because of Akasha blood being in his system like Lestat
@@possiblymaybe6711 I mostly meant physical strength wise he might be stronger than Armand but yeah Armand most likely let Louis toss him against the wall
@@possiblymaybe6711it would’ve still happened because it was done sneaky. He thought everything was fine and his lover had his back and they were happy. But instead he was caught off guard
The reunion between Louis and Lestat was heart-wrenching but I was lowkey soooo mad at Louis for it. 😭His constant naivety throughout the show bothers me- Lestat physically hurt, beat, assaulted, and manipulated him to the point he had to literally plot his murder just to escape his torment, then his next bf sat on a massive lie for decades, and when he finds out he... runs straight back to the first, even worse one, he had tried to escape from? What Armand did was bad, but good grief, Louis at least didn't have to plot Armand's murder to escape his abuse like he did Lestat. Like I get why he did it, he's obsessed with Lestat in a toxic, self-destructive way, but he really never learns even after a century.
I agree completely. I haven't read the books but I wonder if Armand was far worse in them and that's why people don't like him or something, because he really doesn't seem that bad in the show (don't get me wrong he's bad, but I mean compared to the other vampires we've seen and the terrible things they do)
I just finished watching the finale of Interview With The Vampire, and my God, season 2 is a masterpiece! The story, acting, cinematography, character arcs, and dialogs were all stellar! Everything about that show is perfect! It's literally the best show on TV right now! Sesson 2 gets a 10/10

u have to unstand that lestat was mad by a demon and drank from a god and louis drank from him so he isnt weak just has always been restrained until now. cant wait for next season i hope the bring akosha back and all that it would be amazing
Exactly apart from Lestat, Akasha and eventually maharett and her twin ( I won't spoil why) no other vampire can really touch Louie power wise not one on one anyway not when he embraces his power he may be young in comparison to other vampires but the blood his been exposed to is ancient and strong.
This is likely why Armand was restraining him or one of the reasons. He knows he is a fragile mind but not anymore it seems. He definitely seems to suffer from some mild psychosis like his brother. Armand tampered even more with that. Armand is strong too but I think he was just defeated after being found out. He was broken finally. When he ran after Louis begging him. You could hear him saying you already forgiven me for this stuff. That was a messed up divorce.
Damn the best episode ever!!! couldn't stop crying. The love between Lestat and Louis was too beautiful. As a straight person, never in my life did i imagine crying and truly appreciating the love between two Male lovers.

WAYYYY TOOO EASY AND HE TURNED DANIEL 😭😭 very spiteful
I feel like Louis reserves his right to whoop that tale at any later date.
I never warmed up to Armand. I loved his actor, he did an AMAZING job, but his character? Meh. And i thought it was because i was too attached to Lestat. Nope, my gut KNEW 🤣
Amazing finale. And THE ACTING. Give these actors all the awards. The reunion between Lestat+ Louis 😭 Just the line delivery of "Did you hurt yourself?" made me tear up.
I was curled up crying 😢
Oh that made me cry. The way he delivers the line was brutal and beautiful.
@@KelliFranklinYes! That line was brilliant! Just brilliant!
I felt the same way about Armand. He was so fake!!!
I'm so glad they showed that Daniel was turned by Armand in the end. That's so important moving forward. Also we got an Akasha reference! I knew Armand was behind everything but the way it was played out was so well done. I cannot wait for next season. We're going to get some great new vampires and I'll be here for it!
Interesting that they made a point to say Armand had never created fledglings before (a lie?).

Seeing Claudia dress 👗 on the wall next to Paul’s photo Louis Dubai Pent House got me teary eyed 😢
Powerful imagery 😢
AND all the Yellow he incorporated in his house and wearing it.. Claudia's favorite color 🥹
I was like that’s Claudia’s dress. This was the best episode I’ve ever seen.
Not to mention that Louis wouldn't have believed him
@@ally057 Louis would have. It’s why Lestat didn’t say anything.
I think he said he was chased down by them both can be true
@@possiblymaybe6711 in the book, Armand was kidnapped and then sold into slavery. His parents loved him. What he told Daniel in 73 was the truth. What he had told Louis in the museum was a lie. He was gaining sympathy points with Louis.
@@Pooobaihr23
@@Pooobaihr23Armand's parents could have sold him to the slavers, and the slavers then chased him down to capture him. Like the previous comment said, both things can be true. Like we have seen, Armand is a lier, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything he said is a lie.
Santi got jealous of the attention Claudia got from her play, that's why he came for her.
Louis rlly said “catch me outside!”
Louis wanted all that vampire smoke. He's going to bleed them like a crusion, bruh. Cause he owns the night.
Cochon = pig
That hurricane during their reunion was a 100% Claudia on the other side.
😂
💀💀💀
So in the Anne Rice Eternal universe; when Hurricanes occur it’s because a Mayfair witch has died so I wonder if that will tie into the deaths of Deidra or Tessa Mayfair since both witch’s died in season one
@laneygomez2385 Well, also, in an earlier episode of this season when Armand is describing how Lestat kept going off-script during Louis, Claudia, & Madeleine's trial, he said: "Trying to script Lestat is like trying to control a hurricane 🌀. " So it may have just been that & they used a literal hurricane as a metaphor.

I always thought that about him. & ol Danny boy was definitely out here doing the Lord’s work with exposing Armand.
Louie single handedly eradicated a several hundreds year old coven, vampires he's MUCH younger than.
Yeah that’s when I realized age ain’t nothing but a number for these vampires.😂 It’s a factor, but I guess it’s really about how strong their bloodline is.
@@lordhokage9548it's funny how you said "Age Aint Nothing but a Number" caused it reminded me of Aaliyah, who played Akasha.
Don't forget..Lestat has the blood of Akasha, so Louis has the blood also. That's why he was stronger than the other vampires, except Lestat...
French DJ Sam who wears helmets while he performs? Lmao! That’s a Daft Punk reference!

Louis has been feeding on Armand for decades so he probably has grown stronger from his advanced age and also from Armands blood
Omg when you referred to Armand as The Gremlin, I could not stop laughing.
@@Yarncandybycherie 😂😂😂 I got it from someone on the show.. it was either Lestat or Daniel that calls him that 😂.. maybe Louis 🤔

Ho...lee... Shyt!
The saddest part about Claudia. She died the same way she was dying when they made her. Burned up.🔥 prolonged the inevitable.
the siri pause callback joke to multiple times in the show where music playing, that you think is in the background, actually being played by the characters. i love it!! such genius writing. just made the emotional rollercoaster all the more intense.
I would have loved that
When he asked Louis if he hurt himself I broke down in tears. Ugly cried.
As as reader too I was like that didn’t happen in the books however I did enjoyed this adaptation so much, They did an amazing job

How do they obtain powers?
"it became domestic" took me out HAHAHA
🤣😩😩
This episode was as well written as the Peaky Blinders series finale....answered so much but left room for the future A+++++++
It was such a good episode, and a fitting end to such a great season. I had tears during multiple scenes, and that picture of Paul brought back bittersweet memories of his human life. I’m happy that he and Lestat were reunited at the end of this season. Loustat forever ❤
@@sharcon3891 notice of?
He is definitely going on tour.
@@purplepheasant4776 not at that moment. He didn't have the idea of screen. And he would be way happier and chaotic and would be rehearsing with real instruments.

The way Louis finally DECLARED N CLAIMED the GIFT.. I OWN THE NIGHT.. Of course Lestat Saved Loius, bcuz Loius saved Lestat. He left Lestat in the coffin instead of burning him.
Even though they didn't film it, I know Louis threw Armand with his whole chest. He put everything into it.

LOL.
It was the "did you hurt yourself? " on that exact date that got me to hold my breath.😮.
Deep down inside, Lestat knew that Louis couldve burned him back in New Orleans but didnt so Lestat saved Louis' life in return.
It's Lestat asking Louis if he had hurt himself that has me in tears even just typing it out here. Sam should get a GG for that scene alone.
I miss when shows were 21 to 22 episodes minimum, coz how am I supposed to live now that it's over. Do y'all really expect me to wait a year or two for sn 3 rockstar lestat and possibly an Akasha storyline?

Girl !!!!!!!!! Yes !!!! Lestat loved Louis as crazy as it was yes he loved Louis
If he is stronger than armand then the trial would’ve never happened
Yep! Got it right. He has her blood also, because of Lestat.
@@dadagirl29 this is true good point
I haven't read the books but I wonder if Armand was far worse in them and that's why people don't like him or something, because he really doesn't seem that bad in the show (don't get me wrong he's bad, but I mean compared to the other vampires we've seen and the terrible things they do)

u have to unstand that lestat was mad by a demon and drank from a god and louis drank from him so he isnt weak just has always been restrained until now. cant wait for next season i hope the bring akosha back and all that it would be amazing
Your reviews are the MOST hilarious. Here for your breakdowns!
