    I'm retiring at the end of 2023. This video convinced me not to consider Vietnam as a possible retirement country. I visited Vietnam in December, 2013, and really like DaNang. It's time to research Cambodia and schedule a holiday there.

      It's true, the biggest pain-point right now is the visa for long-term staying. Surely Cambodia will be more straightforward in terms of paperwork to get yourself your retirement visa. Have fun !

    Obviously, I'm a little late finding this video but it was refreshing to finally see an interview with a foreigner (expat) that's over the age of 35. There's seems to be a few problems with attempting to retire to Vietnam without being married to a Vietnamese. Nonetheless, it was an interesting video. I'll look elsewhere in SE Asia.

    • @MoveToAsia

      @Vinl33 Yes it's important to mention there has to be an investment put upfront such as 50k usd. So not only 200 usd @GetSmart Paul ;). As the incorporation fee, it's around 2-3 k usd to get proper advice, a good english speaking support and all the paperwork done on your behalf by a professional. You can surely find cheaper deals, but I doubt what you get ...

      @vinl3358 Год назад

      @@MoveToAsia that is true. Foreigners who don't speak the language have to hire english speaking firms who charges at the rate you are saying. I am just lucky that i had friends who already knew the language who helped me and by now i speak the local language too. Hence no need to pay the higher price to get advise. Some firms charge even up to 7-8k usd. I almost went with a firm which was planning to charge me 3k usd but i got advise from friends who stayed here for 30 years already by now.

    Le SEUL vrai problème au Vietnam pour y passer sa retraite c'est le VISA. Tous les 3 mois vous êtes obligé de sortir du pays pour au moins une semaine le temps d'avoir le visa...mais sans avoir la certitude de l'avoir! c'est dommage de ne pas en parler dans votre vidéo...vous prenez toujours l'option d'un retraité célibataire qui à trouvé une épouse locale forcément le problème est réglé! Pour mon cas, je suis "jeune" retraité marié (avec une non vietnamienne) et papa d'un enfant en bas âge et nous quittons le Vietnam à cause du visa fatiguant à la longue....
    Une remarque encore concernant les soins. Faut savoir que les prix sont très bon marché pour une qualité des soins bien supérieur en France !! les délais pour l'obtention d'un RDV sont quasiment du jour au lendemain. On m'a posé deux couronnes en céramique et fait quatre soins dentaire en seulement trois jours pour 450€. Mon épouse a passé des examens gynéco, contrôle de la tyroïde et mammaires, prises de sang pour....37 euros! tout cela dans la même matinée et RDV obtenu du jour au lendemain....je n'ai pas d'assurance cela me couterai 500 euros par mois alors je préfère payé au besoin.
    Si il n'y avait pas le souci du visa alors ça serai idyllique comme pays!!!! population très amicale, safe pays, good food, low cost....

      @MoveToAsia  Месяц назад

      "Si il n'y avait pas le souci du visa alors ça serait idyllique comme pays!!!!" Je note 👍
      A voir dans les années à venir si le Vietnam décide d’implémenter des initiatives telles que la Malaisie (achat d'un appartement donne droit à un visa) ou bien similaires a la Thailande avec un cadre précis pour les retraites.
