I have definitely been converted to mecha quartz chronographs over mechanical. As you've shown Kieron it opens up a whole new range of watches to choose from with none of the difficulty and expense of servicing a mechanical Chrono movement. I have the Nezumi Tonnere and UNdone vintage killy in my collection and I'm loving both.
Completely agree on the orient mako chronograph. Have had one for a couple of months and i absolutely love it. Its the watch i always go to pick up first in my collection.
I can see you're a true watch enthousiast! I'm starting a watch collection and you have introduced me to so many amazing companies i never heard of in this video! I just want to thank you for that 💯
I just saw this. Great review. The difficulty thing for me is finding a mechanical chronograph for under $500. That being said at least you brought my attention to the Orient Mako Chronograph. I had been eyeing balling the Nivada Chronoking and a variety of Dan Henry watches. The price point for Dan Henry really rocks for the style for average Joes like me. Thanks for the work on your video.
Hello everyone! Awesome list with some real gems. Regardless, I thought I’d throw in my 2 cents with another great option: the Hemel Airfoil. A beautiful Pilot Chronograph, with excellent measurements, mechanical hand winding movement, rotating bezel, sapphire, magnificent lume and all of this under the price limit for the list.
Some great shoutouts here and a few watches I had not seen before. For the Seiko choice I would have stuck with the Speedtimer but the one shown certainly is a bit different. I love my Dan Henry 1937. I was a bit surprised not to see a Timex - both the Q Chronograph and Marlin Chronograph are great looking, vintage inspired pieces.
Wonderful and informative video as always. I'm curious what you meant when you suggested that the Bulova Lunar Pilot "might not be the best wearing experience" (12:07). Also, I'm surprised a Timex couldn't make this list. They seem to have some great chronos.
Straight away the Seiko SSC769 stands out. It's really unique in design with great specs and a lovely dial. Bargain price too! Also like the Roue, it looks sporty, compact with great combination. Great list Kieron, always good content mate 👍
I've been very temped to buy that SSC769. Especially with the price and sapphire crystal. That dial surface looks sexy too. You might see it feature on a full review soon 👀 cheers Rik 🙏
Great video mate, glad you covered off Straton...I feel in the last couple of years they've been slightly forgotten about but still a superb choice and gorgeous looks. How do you find the fit and finish on the Boldr in comparison to the other watches mentioned in this video? I do like the designs and use of colour...
Great, inspiring video.. Aside well known brands gives so many ideas for Chronos.. Yema, Roue, Straton (but Speciale) are pieces to think about. Keep up the good work.
I didn't know the Yema existed, thanks for bringing it to my attention! I do like a watch with a bit of history and a good story behind it. Great video, have a nice day.
Dan Henry's are excellent. I have a 1939,my wife has a 1937 and a 1975. I have gifted DH's to my daughter, sister and her husband. All look much more expensive than they should for the money
Mehhh... It's alright. I think everything on this list is better for the money. It doesn't have great specs, no history and a bit boring for my taste. I can appreciate how some may love it though. It's just not for me
@@TopTierTicker , I think most people buy chronograph watches for looks rather than functionality, myself included. If I'm going to be seriously timing something, i wear a digital watch.
Being an overall sci-fi nut the lunar pilot was my obvious choice and i love it! Recently put it on a blue FKM Tropical strap and its more than perfect.
chronographs are good to look at..but honestly, i can dare to say 1-2/10 people wearing a chrono watch, never actually used the chrono functions..it’s there for aesthetic purposes only…
This is why i unapologetically enjoy clones. For under 1k$ you can practically have 95% of a daytona. I dont care what people think of fakes nor do i care if they know its fake. It is for me to enjoy and they offer insane value for beautiful packages. Imagine the clone with no logo on it. Sapphire crystal, full stainless 904L with great fit/finish, tapered bracelets with milled clasps + micro adjust. Ceramic bezel, fully functioning automatic mechanical chronograph movement (cloned 4130) and all under 12.5 mm tall. For $800, every watch owner would have one and they would be perpetually sold out.

The look and feel of a mechanical with the accuracy and convenience of quartz. What’s not to love? ❤️ 😅

The Roue looks wonderful, the colours really make it pop.
It's a very fun watch mate. Perfect for the sun ☀️👌

Definitely that yema chrono and with that story of andretti actually wearing one while racing and winning is a must buy.

Absolutely love my Bulova Lunar Pilot. Great brand history with actual NASA moon heritage. 🚀🌗
Yes sir! Enjoy your Bulova my friend 🙏
I bought timex marlin with blue dial. It has a mecca quartz :-)
40mm, 13 height with domed glass*.
You've knocked it out of the park with your selection, awesome. Got the field medic, great piece. Cheers
Thank you! Cheers! I've been sooooo tempted to pick up the field medic on multiple occasions. I'll get it in at some point

FYI: Amazon Japan often has the Orient Solar Quartz Panda going for 190-220 USD. And it is currently available on Amazon US for 186 USD.
Mr. K. keeps his followers from overspending on watches.
Thank you!
No need to spend thousands when great watches like this exist 👌👌👌
Great video. Not the same old that we're use to seeing.

Hemel make some great chronos. I've mentioned them a few times in the past. It was very close to making the list 🙏
Love that seiko at the end, but with the black dial. I think for chronographs you are better off waiting until you can afford the one that you want
Beautiful, honest episode as always. Many thanks .

Cheers Nizar my friend 🙏 hope all is well
A lot of gratitude for this video. i was looking for the Orient One, and it's just there
Cool video! How would the Orient Mako wear on a 6.5 inch wrist? The stated size is a bit off putting, but I like the design.
The 48mm lug to lug means it will fit nicely. It will still have a lot of wrist presence and look big... But it'll fit

“Pizza box…”. Lol. Brilliant. With a 16cm wrist there are very few chronographs I can wear well but you did point some out.
Timex q chronograph panda dial...wonderful looking, robust build...and very affordable

Because it's a big boy! Almost every watch on this list is more comfortable. You somewhat sacrifice comfort for the super cool looks and history
Timex; I'm not a big fan. I've had about 7 of them now... Never been impressed

I would love to add SEIKO Dress Chronograph Watch SSB429P1 to your list ...it also looks great in person

What a great set of gifts! The whole family kitted out with great watches 🙏👌
Sugess 418-2.
maybe it's an unoriginal Daytona homage, but an automatic chronograph with those specs for $459 is insane good value.
This is definitely the best Chronograph video on the internet. & I've seen them all. 😂
You're too deep man 😂
I got my Casio Edifice Chronograph for $89 and I’m super happy with it
Can't go wrong with an Edifice chrono. I was tempted to feature one on this list.👌
Bought one of the Sugess Seagull watches on amazon. Lasted lest than 4 weeks, the chrono messed up on it, sent it back.
Its something with the chinese ST movement. Anything. That movement looks so awesome for cheap its a must have.
I can see why people love it. It's super cool for the price that's for sure!
Have you ever tried a Vaer watch? I think they look great! Especially the Oceanracer chronograph collection. Any thoughts? 🙂
One of your best videos. Love the Boldr medic in light blue!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the boldr! Thanks.
No probs! Thanks for watching
Great video mate. I’m on the look out for a chrono, you gave some good ideas. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it mate 🙏
I’ve got the seagull love it but it’s a nightmare to wind 😂 👏👏👏👏

Different Seiko 6139 and Citizen 8110 can be found for under 500 and are amazing.
I love the 6138s and 6139s 👌 full of character and history. It can be the wild west licking one up though. Takes an experienced collector

I really fancy wearing a pretty chrono like the Orient. My watch fund is up to Timex Q money at the moment... Patience, patience...
The Orient isn't that much more than the Timex Q... Stay patient, you'll have it soon my friend
I have the Orient you mentioned in your video, I love it really much!
Amazing! How does it wear on your wrist? Is the 48mm lug to lug true to size?
I have the orient to. I like the bezel. It wears smaler. Its not to big.
Another great video, I’m after another chronograph to go with my RZE valour and Pagani…. 😅
That RZE valour looks fantastic! Nice choice
@@TopTierTicker better than my PD speedy…? 🤣 I’m wearing the RZE today actually

Timex Marlin Chronograph 🔝
The Bulova Lunar Pilot costs 718€ here !
Brew watches is another great one!
Yes they are! Good suggestion!
Great suggestions!!
Glad you think so!
I own a CITIZEN ECO DRIVE "TSUNO" ie BULL HEAD CHRONOGRAPH WATCH .
THE MOST VALUE FOR MONEY CHRONOGRAPH .
Aye, that ones a good one too
I dont have one hahaha! I just havent found one that speaks to me. Great selection of watches here Kieran!
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks 👍 appreciate your viewership
Great review 👏 👌
Cheers Chris 👌
The 24hour am/pm indicator is useless to me which I hate on my speedtimer. Now I am looking for another chrono which has a 12hour totaliser.
I think that's a common hate across chrono owners. I don't mind it. I don't see myself ever needing to time something for 12 hours 😂
In my view, the SSC769 is a far better chronograph than the speedtimer. The 1/20 second dial elevates it above chronograph style watches.
People just love the look of the speed timer though don't they... 🙄 But yeah, I think that the SSC769 is objectively a better watch!
@@TopTierTicker , I think most people buy chronograph watches for looks rather than functionality, myself included. If I'm going to be seriously timing something, i wear a digital watch.
I only wish that Orient was 40 mm, that wouldve made it PERFECT.
Yep! The bigger wrist guys will be happy though 👌
I really wish Bulova released a smaller version like 40-41mm and I’d be all over it
I think everyone is in the same boat. I'd 100000% have a 40mm lunar pilot 👌
@@TopTierTicker same 👍
Why the inner bezel, when there is an outer bezel?

None of the plethora of Citizen eco drive chronographs made the list. Ridiculous specs and quality for the price 😢
It was near impossible to pick one. The problem is, they simply have too many
They aren’t fake lmao they’re licensed
I never said fake. I said clones or copies. Which is correct
@@TopTierTicker fair
Really don't see how the Orient is a great design. Looks vanilla like all their other watches
Fun fact:You're breathing manually now!
as well as blinking
I just wish they would dispense with 24 hour subdials. Totally pointless
I use it as a little gauge of how much of the day I have left :)
