    Great job for Drumeo bringing him in. Such inspiration.

      Yousef DQR For real. When I was 16 I was attempting ham-fisted Mars Volta covers and had no idea what I was doing at the time lol. This guy clearly knows his stuff and has a way better sense of dynamics and articulation than I did at his age

      Gino paoli cocaine king I look at it this way from musician to musician if you're going to put a video out make sure you do the covers properly and you know just try to make it sound correctly everybody has their own spin how they do things but to say this is how it goes I don't think so I've been a drummer for over 65 years so I'm a little critical I admit it I didn't say he was a bad drummer I just wanted to give him a little extra good advice like we do two musicians two musicians I don't know if you're a drummer but if you are you know how much concentration it takes listening to music is one thing and trying to emulate it but if you are able to read music which I don't know if you can he would see where he was wrong and a lot of places so I'll leave it at that

    • @richardmadrid2048

      @@richardmadrid2048 i'm a drummer too and i don't really think that playing a song with the same exact drum part can estabilish the talent of someone , it just shows that you spent 1 week or 1 month listening to that song trying to be another one.
      Perhaps i enjoy more a drummer who can make different groove and fills and still sound good.

    • @richardmadrid2048
      @richardmadrid2048 4 года назад

      Gino paoli cocaine king unfortunately if a drummer goes and makes a video and tries to teach somebody how to play the song correctly you must know how to play them self correctly that's all I'm telling you right now what kind of an instructor would do such a thing if you're a teacher you teach it correctly and not go over there and say I'm just going to wing it we all wing it as drummers at some point if you don't know your material properly but to do a video and say this is how it's done this is how it Stevie Wonder did it forget it he wasn't even close

    Raghav is incredible! I'm a guitarist, but I'm having more fun watching great drummers lately. Between Senri, Sarah, and now Raghav, it doesn't get much better. I got a good laugh from the train story - I made some EDM from a sample of "Stand clear of the closing door, please [ding-ding]" in the NY city subway.

  • @kolasis4994
    @kolasis4994 2 года назад

    This is what I needed to watch!!!!!!!! I've played guitar for like, 15 years and got bored with it, I got bored imitating others on it, and not having the music theory to create my own sound. I picked up drumming, and have practiced off and on for a little over a year, had a lot of fun just sucking playing along with songs, and watching myself slowly progress and get more control over my limbs. I hit a point where I realized I was more or less improvising along with the music and now i've been in hot pursuit of really training my rudiments and getting tight in easier beats. This has just made it so clear on how to really go about having fun on the kit and get better.
    I simply don't want to learn songs I like, I want to become my own style

  • @ediot6969
    @ediot6969 4 года назад +1

    We are actually referring to call and response. The approach (mind set) is up to the individual, but he is referring to call and response, which is not a new concept to music or drummers. Jazz drummers have been doing for a long time and at a very high level.
