Its almost as if he didn't even know he played for the Pacers now & has been fantastic
A.M. just jumps on whatever hype train will get him the most clicks. I don't think he's any more than a casual basketball fan. It's pretty clear that he hasn't even watched any Pacers games before the IST quarterfinals. Also, Jalen isn't a starter. Myles Turner starts and Jalen comes off the bench for him. The other backup is Isaiah Jackson, who has also been playing well. That's how deep the Pacers bench is.
The 2020 draft class was weak, but still a lot of good players that were late ended up doing far better than the others ahead of them. Bane, Maxey, McDaniels, even Quickley turned out to be better than expected.
I went to Merrril Middle and Oshkosh North with Tyrese, very humble person. I remember finding his phone in the snow bank and returning it to the school office as well
We all thought at first the Kings made a bad trade since he's already showed potential there but it was good for him since he doesn't need to hide behind Fox really rooting for Pacers and OKC this season
Not even a Kings fan but i doubt they regret it because they are doing well. Your video was making sense until you said tbe Kings traded Haliburton for a first round exit, like the Pacers have won the Championship with Haliburton yet. Both players compliment the teams they were traded to.
Don't worry, this dude will jump off of this hype train and champion the exact opposite position in a few months when the Kings are sewing up a top-3 seed in the West again.
the spurs had murray, white and mills at pg that time and were pretty guard heavy. they needed a SF after trading derozan also so vassel was picked for best available at the position needed. but man, i can just imagine a hali and wemby combo.
@benbengalykaba2957 DV was categorized as a SG/SF or a wing in college and is capable in both positions, while TH was a tall and rangy PG. here is a part of his draft scouting report: Vassell is a rangy wing player who plays hard on both ends of the floor. After a breakout sophomore season he projects as a likely lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and possibly the top wing defender in this class. the spurs at that time drafted based on position of need and not best player available. also if they picked TH this wouldve slighted murray who was their pg of the future atm. in hindsight the spurs definitely should've picked TH. and also sengun instead of JP the flasher.
@gremlinmachineshop yeah, especially missing sengun becuase they got nothing with reaching for primo. thing is if they did get haliburton and sengun, i highly doubt they would still be able to get the number 1 pick for wemby this year tho
Is it just me or Halliburton shuffles his feet when attempting a step back. I swear if they start calling that on the final game, because a certain person is on the other team.
I had some front office connections at that time and the concerns were based on his lack of driving and FTR. Historically low numbers that made people think he would be more of a secondary playmaker and not primary. His shooting has concerns on whether his awkward form would translate and if it was quick enough. But it wasn’t considered a strength because of that (graded as decent + or slightly above average. ) he was also older as a prospect. I do think that if he had a full college season and a normal pre draft process he would’ve been a top 5.
IUPUI is (was) in Indy. Seems like fate Also, Obi Toppin is off the Knicks...and on the same Tyrese in the Pacers. Oops indeed. Lastly, Im neither a Kings fan nor an NBA media member (Pacers fan if that wasn't obvious) and I still say it was still a win win trade. There is no telling if Tyrese would have blossomed like he has if he had stayed there. Playing time, chemistry, coaching, etc all play a role. He and Fox were splitting minutes, and SAC had to pick one to give the role to. They got an all-star guy in return who immediately elevated them to a playoff team. Yeah, they probably still have more work to do to build off that, but, that was the next step for the franchise (one that took them how long to make?) and to act like it was a bad call for them in retrospect when there is little to suggest keeping Tyrese would have resulted in the same or better outcome is pretty asinine to be honest. That trade revitalized a basement franchise. For the Pacers side of it, we were facing a similar decision having to pick between Turner and Sabonis as the "twin towers" strategy wasn't paying off nor was it tenable long term and Sabonis had the most trade capital given his all star appearance. Turner allegedly asking for a trade was almost certainly a contract negotiation tactic btw. We were also in the midst of a rebuild (tank) already and these moves were part of that and thankfully sped up the process. And guess what? Both teams came out better for it, which is the definition of a win win. Can't see how anyone could objectively argue otherwise to be frank.
I am also a Pacers fan that has adopted the Kings because Domas is my favourite player and I believe one of the best in the league. I think they will both have 10 plus All Star years and both squads are excellent. This could have easily been a Kings Pacers final on Sunday if Keegan Murray was properly healthy in the game against the Pels. They were on fire in the first quarter and Sabonis and Fox had great games. Both teams are hovering around sixth this year and Pacers could have been much better last year except for Hartenstein landing on Ty's foot in early December. Definitely still win-win
He is the next Point God. NBA better watch out, my boy Tyrese going to be in the MVP debate for years. I'm a Pacers fan and this team is the best team I have seen for the Pacers since, the Paul George Pacers in the conference finals against the heat, and the Reggie Miller Pacers back in the day. Tyrese could go down as the best Pacer of all time if he continues like this.

If he really is the next Steve Nash he will. Plays just like him and Nash was also traded in his first 2 years only to come back to the Suns as a free agent years later.
I am a dubs fan but I wish we had Lamelo or Tyrese because we needed a second option when klay was out for whole season and still we would still have a good player off the bench and brings something when Steph rests
Dubs chose the NEED over TALENT that time. They felt they needed a reliable big more than anything else thus picking Wiseman, unfortunately he never lived up to the expectation as he had injuries and difficulties improving his inside game. Lamelo would've been a really great choice for GSW because he's a 6'7 solid pg who can shoot, facilitate, and dish assists, since Steph plays like a shooting guard with his crazy scoring arsenal. Lamelo with GSW would average double double in points and assists with all the scorers around him.
GS has enough point guards. Seriously. That position is covered. It's the every-other-position that they need the most help with. Plus, if you plug Hali into the Steph System, you won't get the same results as Hali in the Hali System.
They’d go back to the bench once Klay came back and you had Poole to fight minutes with. They’re good because they are in those situations with the keys handed to them. They won’t get that in GS, plus GS won in 2022.
Let's give credit where credit is due. The front office pulled off that trade. Who else could Carlisle have run the offense? It's not even a question. Carlisle should, however, get a lot of credit for the way he sets up the Pacers to play. They are the nr. 1 offense in the league so far this season.
I think the kings trade was good, I mean they are playing well & the kings haven’t played well or been fun to watch since Webber left. they do have Fox at guard so, hindsight is 50/50 but the trade filled a big need for the Kings.
Personally,, I wouldn't call anyone in the 2020 draft class a bust. Everyone doesn't reach thier full potential immediately. Some people peak at year 5.
funniest thing is jalen smith and obi toppin are now his teammates with the pacers. knicks failed again enjoy their 1st/2nd round exits till randle and brunson get old.
As a Pacers fan, I was wanting them to "put the right team around" Sabonis, and it just wasn't happening. You gotta understand, Tyrese wouldn't be the player that he is right now if he played with Fox. So yeah, the trade was a win win for both teams.
How ironic that Knicks passed up on him for Toppin and the Suns for Jalen Smith. Both players are now in the Pacers as teammates with Haliburton.
1:28 well magic is definitely on one side of positivity 😂
Writing never falls off. Good video again.
The Pacers/Kings trade was one of the Win Win trades i've ever seen.
that passing and that smile. yep the dude got IT! even watching his podcast guesting in JJ's pod, you'll see he is humble and fun to be with.
And now Obi Toppin & Jalen Smith play key starting roles with Ty on the Pacers. Jalen might've been a bad pick for the Suns but he's been really solid in Indy...Obi as well but A.M. didn't diss the ever livin shit out of Obi like he did Jalen. Its almost as if he didn't even know he played for the Pacers now & has been fantastic
i was curious how that got left out too
A.M. just jumps on whatever hype train will get him the most clicks.
Yep bane a top 5 shooter in the NBA Maxey is free noe that james is gone
I'm from near Oshkosh and got to see him play in high school. Knew he was damn good but seeing him as a star in the NBA is really something!
Fantastic player, it's so fun to watch him play.
I went to Merrril Middle and Oshkosh North with Tyrese, very humble person. I remember finding his phone in the snow bank and returning it to the school office as well
What makes this draft even worse is than like 20 teams passed on maxey and even more passed on Desmond bane. Wtf were teams thinking lmao
He had to end with a hot take to stir emotion. I wonder if he really believes it.
It’s wild how three of the picks from this draft ended up on the same team a few years later lol
4* Jalen Smith, Tyrese, Obi, and Aaron Nesmith
I felt like every young USA player who joined FIBA games tend to gain confidence, and shine in NBA games after that, look at Tyrese and Ant
Rick wasn't lying when he said the Mavs FO had Tyrese as number 1 on their board over Ant. The haul they offered NY for what become Obi is insane.
Dude has like a set shot, like a big. It's a crazy jumper.
Iupui grad here. George hill went there. Good school.
1:23 Oh, that's where that big smile comes from.
the spurs had murray, white and mills at pg that time and were pretty guard heavy. they needed a SF after trading derozan also so vassel was picked for best available at the position needed. but man, i can just imagine a hali and wemby combo.
team slender mans for sure
But vassel is a guard too
@benbengalykaba2957 DV was categorized as a SG/SF or a wing in college and is capable in both positions, while TH was a tall and rangy PG. here is a part of his draft scouting report:
Vassell is a rangy wing player who plays hard on both ends of the floor.
@@fritznolasco928missing on Haliburton and Sengun picks by taking Vassell and Primo instead is a bit frustrating tho
Seems like fate
Also, Obi Toppin is off the Knicks...and on the same Tyrese in the Pacers.
Sabonis and Haliburton had the same numbers Monday night, 26-10-13 for Haliburton and 26-13-10 for Sabonis
Also the Suns picked Jalen Smith over Tyrese and now he in Pacers too..
When it comes to the draft its like the lottery "you win some you lose some" you can't predict on someone's future automatically.
The term “connector” does this man NO justice! He is the system. The culture. The standard. Great trade for Indy
Him and maxey the new rivalry in the future of the east 👌
You couldn’t have Fox and Halliburton together - it’s that simple. Both the Kings and Pacers benefited
If he's not traded, he's not developing to that star and leader. Same about Gildeous Alexander to Okc.
I am a bit curious as to why you omitted the fact that the Kings have arguably a better PG in D. Fox. Not even a mention as to a reason why the Kings traded Tyreses?
This^💯💯💯
@@Martin_3030_ Fox is a better player comparing the two straight up but as far as who provides more value to the team it's Haliburton
@@mattr2626 Haliburton may have more value to his team in IND. .. Both players are thriving without the other. If Fox was the one traded to IND, perhaps this video would be about him.
@@Pteropus I don't disagree. I'm a diehard Kings fan, it's just my opinion that on the Kings and now Indiana Haliburton is a much better contribution to a team but Fox is a better scorer
Nah Hali clears
As a Kings fan I was soooo mad when they traded him, but now I'm just happy that everything seems to work out for Tyrese! I wish him all the success in the world. Maybe he'll return one day - who knows... 🙂
If he really is the next Steve Nash he will. Plays just like him and Nash was also traded in his first 2 years only to come back to the Suns as a free agent years later.
Lol hey I still have my Kings Hali jersey ready when he comes back 😂
@@pirateslifeformeTyrese is an extremely loyal player to the teams he plays for. I doubt he’ll ever leave the Pacers
@@pirateslifeforme he’s not coming back.
I'm happy that AM hoops reach this huge number subs and viewers. I've been here since 4K subs 🤗
Magic being nba side of positivity is a crazy sentence to put in a video xd
Now we have to see him do it in the playoffs
I am a dubs fan but I wish we had Lamelo or Tyrese because we needed a second option when klay was out for whole season and still we would still have a good player off the bench and brings something when Steph rests
Or...Put Steph on 2...Damn you blew that pick 😔
Dubs chose the NEED over TALENT that time. They felt they needed a reliable big more than anything else thus picking Wiseman, unfortunately he never lived up to the expectation as he had injuries and difficulties improving his inside game. Lamelo would've been a really great choice for GSW because he's a 6'7 solid pg who can shoot, facilitate, and dish assists, since Steph plays like a shooting guard with his crazy scoring arsenal. Lamelo with GSW would average double double in points and assists with all the scorers around him.
Golden State has had the most opportunity out of every other team in the league to be good and they're still ass this year
GS has enough point guards.
As usual, killing it w quality content you are
Credit to Carlisle for giving him the keys and allowing him to command the offense.
Let's give credit where credit is due. The front office pulled off that trade. Who else could Carlisle have run the offense? It's not even a question. Carlisle should, however, get a lot of credit for the way he sets up the Pacers to play. They are the nr. 1 offense in the league so far this season.
I dont think Haliburton would develop the same way alnogside Fox, I still think it was a good decison to trade him for Sabonnis
Always look forward to an AM hoops video,!
people just love to hate on the kings for no reason lmfao
Always an amazing segue to the previous video
I think the kings trade was good, I mean they are playing well & the kings haven’t played well or been fun to watch since Webber left. they do have Fox at guard so, hindsight is 50/50 but the trade filled a big need for the Kings.
Tyrese Haliburton NEW PURE POINT GUARD 💯
On that night I was so mad the bulls picked pat Williams over him 😢
Kings where the vibe last year.
Crazy how Obi Toppin and Ty Hal are on the same team now
And smith
And Neismith who was in the same draft.
And Neismith who was in the same draft.
Obi Toppin and Jalen Smith are both Pacers now too lol
Your videos are incredible! Keep it up A.M.!
It’s amazing how the number one pick in an nba draft is rarely ever the best player in the draft
Fun fact. Knicks passed on him to select Obi Toppin and now Obi and him are team mates
Jalen Smith, too. He's the backup center, and doing a terrific job of it.
i guarantee he would be a champion as a player and as a coach when his time on basketball is done❤❤❤
Your videos are so addictive.
Tyrese took the grind route when he didn’t have too bro work harder then most
The Pacers still have a phone dedicated to trading Myles Turner.
Lol
So happy for him getting to be there for this
He had a rough decade
you have the best NBA content
Don't do Jalen Smith like that. He's been great for the Pacers this season and showed promise in his past seasons.
Man as a wolves fan it was so annoying going into that draft hearing about how weak this draft was.
One of the best guard classes in recent memory
He is going to be one of the greatest point guards of all time when he retires
The Kings passed on him too bc they traded him fast.
does anyone know the name of the background music from 1:07 to 1:33???
It’s too early
So many players got success on flashes 1 year or so
Let’s hope he will sustain the success
Personally,, I wouldn't call anyone in the 2020 draft class a bust. Everyone doesn't reach thier full potential immediately. Some people peak at year 5.
funniest thing is jalen smith and obi toppin are now his teammates with the pacers. knicks failed again enjoy their 1st/2nd round exits till randle and brunson get old.
Most of the teams that passed in Hali wouldn’t be a good fit but if the Suns got him… wow that would’ve been a game changer
If only hard work and dedication was valued in the draft NOT hype.
Glad he is getting the max deserved long may it continue.
I’m now sad that my Pistons passed up on him 🙁

@@dannyhernandez265Fr i’m confused

As a kings fan the hail trade was good for both teams cause Hali at the point had more potential value than fox so Sabonis was the right move
As a Pacers fan, I was wanting them to "put the right team around" Sabonis, and it just wasn't happening. Watching him lead his team to the 3rd seed, and then to the playoffs, last year, I was happy for him. I didn't particularly care about the Kings before that, but now I truly want to see them succeed.
It was a great trade for both teams. We'll see what these hype train weirdos have to say about it when both Sac and Indy are facing off in the Finals.
@@MrMagnanimanlol dude I was the same. As a diehard kings fan I never once thought about the pacers especially cause we only played you guys twice a year. Now they’re pretty much the only other team I follow in the nba.
@@pirateslifeforme I know Hali was upset about the trade when it happened, but this is one of those rare trades where it looks like EVERYONE involved with it is coming out WAAAY better than they were before.
Hali's happy now, Sabonis is happy, and Buddy Hield is still a streaky shooter. LOL
I hope your guys figure out how to unlock Vezenkov a little more. I've been rooting for him to break out as a dark horse RotY candidate.
yes, i love magic too.. he is always so positive in life.
When I heard of the Kings trade of Haliburton, my first thought was "Why would they do that, kid was doing just fine there".
Its almost like something really big happened in the world that made scouting that draft challenging....
Magic truly was the side of positivity.
I can't look at Magic Johnson because I didn't see him play. But Haliburton saying he looks up to Magic and tries to replicate his game, I love it
I may not look up to Magic Johnson, but I love to look up my game to Tyrese Haliburton.
Man you always have things to say to attack the Kings 😂
Lol that’s why I don’t follow the guy. He’s like a minimum jj redick
Sacramento is not doing that bad, Indiana is not doing that well. Kings you can get
Brother. The idiom is “all of a sudden,” and not “all the sudden”. Love your videos btw!
It's a bit of a stretch to call Patrick Williams a bust. Dude is still so young that he'll be younger than some 2024 lottery picks. Sure he's no superstar but he continues to develop and looking very solid defensively. Time will tell tho!
Still shocked the Warriors made such a bad pick. I didn't know about Tyler, but i knew Lamelo was at worst gonna be an all-star player, and at best wiseman was gonna be a solid bench player or low level starter which they could've got in free agency for a fraction of the price, so getting him over lamelo was crazy to me. But if they knew about Tyler, its even crazier
Just imagine: Haliburton and wemby playing together! That would be fun to watch
Tyrese's dad is right about Magic being positive.
@5:32 classic Knicks move 😂😂😂
ppl forget the kings gave up hield in that sabonis trade too. hali and hield for sabonis is wild.
It's interesting how many of those picks now play in Indy
As a Kings fan I do believe the Hali-Domas trade was a win-win, BUT I do agree completely is was a much bigger win for the Pacers for sure.
