This is why the old animal crossing game is charming. There are amazing features that never returned, no sea bass in early september, interesting beta content thats been found, and more stuff!
@AlkaZoe56: Yeah, that's all you'll catch, barred knifejaws and red snappers (plus coelacanths if it's raining) since there are no sea bass at that time of year.
bearmy123: Yes, I've gotten Resetti a few times, although it was usually from the power going out or something like that, and not an intentional reset.
EndiconRS: Just an update. The sea bass do start to return on the 14th, but it seems to be only a few. I still caught more valuable fish than sea bass today.
MarioMarioSMBZ: Yeah, sometimes you have to keep going from acre to acre looking for the right one. Some of them are rare and don't show up very often. Also, remember that many bugs only appear at certain times of the year or day.
@NFlJock7: I think they leave in mid-August. But that's also when the jellyfish arrive, so it's still not great fishing until September 1, when the jellyfish are gone too.
CyrusBearFurshion5: City Folk has a recycle bin in the town hall. In the GameCube version, you can place your trash in the dump (which you can see at the 9:16 mark).
@AGgals: On City Folk? The recycling bin is in town hall, on the right-hand side. Discarded items can sometimes be found there, and you can leave your unwanted items there as well. It works just like the dump does on GameCube.
@TheCam444: You have to have a Game Boy Advance connected your GameCube with the appropriate link cable. The GBA also has to be turned on for Kapp'n to show up.
@ClubPenguinVideosTV: It's not luck. This is what happens in the first half of September; there are no crappy fish in the ocean during this time (as long as you avoid the acre where the river empties into the ocean). And you get the gold fishing rod by catching every type of fish.
@GDarkGoombaG: I get mostly salmon at the estuary. And they're only worth 650 bells, opposed to the minimum 3,000 bells per fish at the other ocean acres. So if making quick bells is your goal, then it's best to avoid that acre.
oh btw, contrary to the description, i highly recommend fishing AT the estuary, because river fish dont really appear there, and that is where the barred knifejaws all seem to congregate! also large chars seem to LOVE the area under the waterfall so check there.
@BellsTycoon: I think they do return gradually. When I tried to track down the dates a year or two ago, I didn't catch any until the 14th, so I thought that was the date they first appear. But apparently they can appear a day or two earlier. Thanks for the info.
@MrsCfw23: I never said the sea bass weren't around in winter. They're available year-round, except for mid-August to mid-September. Sea bass are definitely not rare.
klily73: Nookington's has an additional requirement besides spending a certain amount of money. You also need to make a second town on another memory card, and have a character from that town visit your first town and buy an item from Nook's.
110Trollicious110: Press the A button to float the bobber in front of the fish. When it goes underwater (you will see a splash), press the A button again to reel him in.
JustSomeVidz: Not all of it of course, but some of it. Fishing is so much more fun when every fish you catch is big and valuable, so I try to do this every September. For those still paying off debt to Tom Nook, this is a great way to pay it off quickly.
pigpicks8: Every day there will be a glowing spot somewhere in town. Dig it up for some free money. For the rocks, each day there is one "money rock" (it turns red when you hit it with a shovel). Once you find the right one, keep hitting it repeatedly to get up to seven money bags.
tjdwodl91: Yes, it goes by the date & time set on your GameCube. If you really wanted, you could change the date on your GameCube to whatever you want.
Okay, cool. I know they don't all come back at once either. They start to return on September 14, but there aren't as many of them as usual, so it's still good fishing.
@darthd101: The smallest memory cards have enough room if Animal Crossing is the only thing on them. If you have files for another game, you could either delete them (if you don't need them) or get another memory card.
Enfan89: I don't know yet, but I doubt it will work in City Folk. City Folk has more types of fish than the GameCube version, so it's unlikely that this will occur again.
nosyiam: No, this trick won't work in those games. I don't know if the sea bass leave or not in CF and WW, but those games have more types of ocean fish, so it wouldn't help even if the sea bass did leave.
I once caught 2 arowanas in a row. Lucky, huh? I believe the 2 fish I'm missing are Giant Snakeheads and Coelacanths. I don't recall getting a stringfish either, though.
Wow. I did not realize that September fishing was this way. Thousands of bells, here I come (I need to get a pole in my current village first though...).
bursting7age: From what I understand, to get Nookington's, you will need to have a character from another town (on another memory card) visit your town and buy something from your town's store.
ganger215: You mean the golden rod? You get it after you catch every type of fish. If you mean any rod, you can get the regular one at Tom Nook's store. If he doesn't have it today, keep checking each day and he will get one soon.
Megamartin45: I'm guessing it wouldn't work on DS, because I think Wild World has more types of ocean fish. But I don't have a DS or Wild World, so I can't be certain.
after playing city folk for so long, i decided to play the gamecube one the other day.. it felt soo different! when i went fishing i laughed at the fishes tails when they're in the water. i never noticed before but they look really funny!
EndiconRS: Yeah, sorry about that. The "first half" of September isn't entirely accurate. I'm not sure of the exact cutoff date, but if I remember to test it this year, I will update the video description.
PATCHY12345: Fishing at this time of year is part of it. But also selling fossils, fruit, and furniture. And finding the glowing spot's money bag and the red rock's money bags help too. So basically all of that stuff over a few years of off-and-on gameplay adds up to millions of bells.
yearofthe: Well that's not completely correct. In the GameCube version, there are no sea bass for the first week to week and a half of September. If you don't believe me, change the date on your GameCube and try it out. Those fish & insect guides may be very helpful, but they're not 100% accurate.
I hate how this feature is only in the GameCube version. In the newer games Wild World and up sea bass are around all day and night all year long. And they are all I catch...
barred knife jaws are 5000 bells while red snappahs are 3000 bells. and this is 100% true. just switch your clock in the menu settings to september to get fast money (especially when its raining
skater4life101101: I don't think that will make them become more common. But if you're trying to get the golden rod, weather vane, or just complete the museum, you'll need to donate one eventually.
the absolute best time to fish ever is with a golden rod, in the first half of september, ON RAINY DAYS!!!!! also, out of the five great fish (arapaima, arowana, coelacanth, large char, stringfish), all but the coelacanth can be found in september. i recomment fishing a few days into september to get rid of any potential jellyfish, although if you're looking for large char, they seem to be MUCH more abundant around july. large chars are extremely easy to catch tho; GREAT cash crop!
ye i got a fishing rod, oh so i dun run...ok.. but there arent many fishes still. and when the hell does the weather change. Its like winter everytime i rebuiold the town.
tjdwodl91: No, it's not always winter, it changes by the time. I see you're in Australia, where it's summer, but Nintendo may not have adjusted the seasons for players in the southern hemisphere. In Animal Crossing, I think the snow will melt later this month.
I really didn't mind the sea basses in Animal Crossing (GCN version). But in Animal Crossing: City Folk they just annoyed the hell out of me. I'm surprised that someone else plays the GameCube version still. Have you obtained the forbidden games?
@jvgsjeff i never seem to get salmon there but whatever. its just from my studies, barred knifejaws love the estuary like large chars love the waterfall.
I was wondering why I wasn't getting a single sea bass! I thought it was a fluke or something, I've never gotten four coelacanths in under an hour before. Serious bell was made today :D
I've officially calculated how much you can get from doing this every time, from minimum (pocket full of Red Snappers) to maximum (pocket full of Barred Knifejaws) on nice days. Didn't calculate the amount for a pocket full of Coelacanths for rainy days.
This is why the old animal crossing game is charming. There are amazing features that never returned, no sea bass in early september, interesting beta content thats been found, and more stuff!
Wow, a decade of playing this game and I never knew this!
The old caught the fish noise, ahhh...right in the deeeeeep nostalgic feels!

@NFlJock7: I think they leave in mid-August. But that's also when the jellyfish arrive, so it's still not great fishing until September 1, when the jellyfish are gone too.
@ACxEVA: No, ACCF has more types of ocean fish, which prevents this from occurring. This only works on the GameCube version.
CyrusBearFurshion5: City Folk has a recycle bin in the town hall. In the GameCube version, you can place your trash in the dump (which you can see at the 9:16 mark).
@JENNAFURpm: No, not every day. But I do still it play it a few times a month. Thanks for the compliment. =]
SkukiPlay: I'm sure it won't be out that early, unfortunately. But they may announce some details at the E3 show in July.
@GDarkGoombaG: The coelacanth can be caught in September as well. I caught many of them last month.
@ClubPenguinVideosTV: It's not luck. This is what happens in the first half of September; there are no crappy fish in the ocean during this time (as long as you avoid the acre where the river empties into the ocean). And you get the gold fishing rod by catching every type of fish.

Nidnacron: Yes, the fishing tournaments are on Sundays in June and November.
@djd12: If there is a change, it's not dramatic like in the ocean. There are still "cheap" fish in the rivers year-round.
metalbacklash: It may not be the full first half of the month. It might just be the first 10 days or so, I'm not exactly sure.
So charming. So unique. So nostalgic.
oh btw, contrary to the description, i highly recommend fishing AT the estuary, because river fish dont really appear there, and that is where the barred knifejaws all seem to congregate! also large chars seem to LOVE the area under the waterfall so check there.

flgonmonkey978: It starts September 1. I'm not sure what the last day is without sea bass, but I think it's somewhere around the 10th.
@MrsCfw23: I never said the sea bass weren't around in winter. They're available year-round, except for mid-August to mid-September. Sea bass are definitely not rare.
gredman4: The regular fishing rod can be bought from Tom Nook. As for the golden rod, you get it after you catch every type of fish.
babbynicole: Equip the fishing rod, cast away, and press the A button to reel it in when it bites.
cothey: No, you don't need Action Replay. As long as your GameCube clock is set to the right date, you can do this until mid-September.
@morganhath: Lots of fun when it was a minimum of 3,000 bells per fish. The point was you can earn a lot of money quick this way.
Well the original question was about the regular fishing rod, not the golden rod. I was just clarifying.
klily73: Nookington's has an additional requirement besides spending a certain amount of money. You also need to make a second town on another memory card, and have a character from that town visit your first town and buy an item from Nook's.
I agree completely. OPlaying this game brings back memories of 7 years of playing it. Good Times.
mariofan2121: No, it won't work in City Folk (or Wild World) because they have more types of ocean fish. It only works in the GameCube version.
110Trollicious110: Press the A button to float the bobber in front of the fish. When it goes underwater (you will see a splash), press the A button again to reel him in.

tjdwodl91: Yes, it goes by the date & time set on your GameCube. If you really wanted, you could change the date on your GameCube to whatever you want.
@AGgals: The recycle bin in town hall functions as the dump.
@oODynamiteSamOo: Well in the first half of the month, there will only be three types of fish in the ocean. There are still other fish in the rivers.
klily73: According to GameFAQs, they come out from June to September, in the river, between 4-9 a.m. and between 4-9 p.m.
Yes, the GameCube Animal Crossing game will work on Wii as well.
I once caught 2 arowanas in a row. Lucky, huh?
I believe the 2 fish I'm missing are Giant Snakeheads and Coelacanths. I don't recall getting a stringfish either, though.
SkyMaro: I have a TV tuner card for my PC. I plug the video cable from the GameCube, Wii, etc. into it and I can record as I play.
@darthd101: Yeah, this tip only works in the GameCube game.
Wow. I did not realize that September fishing was this way. Thousands of bells, here I come (I need to get a pole in my current village first though...).
bursting7age: From what I understand, to get Nookington's, you will need to have a character from another town (on another memory card) visit your town and buy something from your town's store.

Megamartin45: I'm guessing it wouldn't work on DS, because I think Wild World has more types of ocean fish. But I don't have a DS or Wild World, so I can't be certain.
xjesstodiex: The only one you missed is the coelacanth, which comes out when it rains.
bsharper: No, only on the GameCube game. The other versions have more types of ocean fish, so this won't work in those games.
after playing city folk for so long, i decided to play the gamecube one the other day.. it felt soo different! when i went fishing i laughed at the fishes tails when they're in the water. i never noticed before but they look really funny!
alscoffee: The jellyfish can only be caught in the 2nd half of August in the ocean (any time of day).
animalcrossingrocks: I have a TV tuner for my PC that lets me plug in the video cable from the GameCube or Wii directly into my computer.
EndiconRS: Yeah, sorry about that. The "first half" of September isn't entirely accurate. I'm not sure of the exact cutoff date, but if I remember to test it this year, I will update the video description.
@Iemanonymous1 I was talking about animalcrossingfaable's videos which are of Wild World for the DS.
KyleeGurl95: No, it does not. The other versions have more types of fish that can appear, so this trick will only work on the GameCube version.
yearofthe: Probably because it was still summer. There are a lot of insects that time of year.
It should be $20, but it might be hard to find since a lot of stores don't stock GameCube games anymore.
@jvgsjeff no the sea bass are also in winter! I ALWAYS THINK THEIR RARE!
Pokemonmasterchar: Probably not. City Folk has more types of fish, so it's very unlikely it would work.
mrkoolguy555: Well still, it shouldn't take more than a week or so for Nook to get a fishing rod if you're checking every day.
@PIKSCHMO: This is the GameCube version.
It's a type of sea shell. It's not in the later Animal Crossing games.
boxman131: That's the golden rod that you get from catching all the fish. But first you have to get the regular fishing rod from Tom Nook's store.
kataang8: You can get them from the island or by trading with someone who has them.
GFX160: No, I think the DS version has more types of ocean fish, so this trick won't work.
Are a little count of great games that dont have violence, Animal Crossing is a best choice for relaxing and free his emotive emotions.
PATCHY12345: Fishing at this time of year is part of it. But also selling fossils, fruit, and furniture. And finding the glowing spot's money bag and the red rock's money bags help too. So basically all of that stuff over a few years of off-and-on gameplay adds up to millions of bells.
piemanfun: The weather doesn't follow a schedule. You'll just have to keep checking each day.
mishhs: You're welcome and thank you for the nice comments. :)
spriteTAB: The jellyfish are only there for the 2nd half of August. They will be gone by September 1.
yearofthe: Well that's not completely correct. In the GameCube version, there are no sea bass for the first week to week and a half of September. If you don't believe me, change the date on your GameCube and try it out. Those fish & insect guides may be very helpful, but they're not 100% accurate.
It's actually the golden rod, and you get it after you catch every type of fish.
i luv all ur vids and howed u get the great camra also my guy on ds and gamecube looks the same as urs!!!
@kingodoom2: Press the X button to select multiple items.
I hate how this feature is only in the GameCube version. In the newer games Wild World and up sea bass are around all day and night all year long. And they are all I catch...
@darthd101: I would try to get another memory card then. It shouldn't cost too much.
mrkoolguy555: Are you saying you've been playing for two years and Nook has never had a fishing rod for sale?
Hey Jeff. Do you play ACGC everyday? Awesome video.
I said I've almost always seen the barred knifejaws at the estuary. And I said large chars are only found at the waterfall.
barred knife jaws are 5000 bells while red snappahs are 3000 bells. and this is 100% true. just switch your clock in the menu settings to september to get fast money (especially when its raining

Stringfish only in December and don't forget, a dorado is also rare and is the same price as string fish!
Haha... You do realize this isn't a new video, right? :) I just featured it since it's that time of year again.
ye i got a fishing rod, oh so i dun run...ok.. but there arent many fishes still. and when the hell does the weather change. Its like winter everytime i rebuiold the town.
@xsabakux: No, I never got an Action Replay.
bursting7age: Make sure the Game Boy Advance is turned on without a game in it. If it still doesn't work, try leaving the acre and come back.
vernidaguilarego: No, this is not the fishing tournament.
tjdwodl91: No, it's not always winter, it changes by the time. I see you're in Australia, where it's summer, but Nintendo may not have adjusted the seasons for players in the southern hemisphere. In Animal Crossing, I think the snow will melt later this month.

mrkoolguy555: He sells them, but he has different items each day. It may take a few days before he gets one in.
Pity4eva: Tom Nook has different items every day, so check his store again tomorrow.
Whats with all the dragonflys at the start?
I was wondering why I wasn't getting a single sea bass! I thought it was a fluke or something, I've never gotten four coelacanths in under an hour before. Serious bell was made today :D
