I feel like animal crossing soundtracks have been going on a downward tangent ever since the first game. Acgc really felt like each and every single hour theme fit the time of the day it represented, acww and acgc had some really good tracks but they felt too similar to one another, acnl was boring and acnh was straight up annoying.
@@BillionairesArentYourFriends i mean, the same feeling is present in the gamecube game with 2pm and 3 pm. Makes sense. During those hours you're usually either bored out of your mind, sleepy as hell for no reason, or working/at school just waiting for the day to end already.
@@fletchqc9900 I disagree but only because I don't think gamecube had those mellow tunes during those times. Gamecube captured those hours very well, and they were quite the opposite of how you're describing. Kids are usually getting home from school and the tunes are upbeat to match the mood...New Horizons is the opposite. It creates that mood you're describing, but not everyone is bored or sleepy in the middle of the day. Although considering my point was the songs sound somehow sarcastic (as if the day is just kinda...ya know, going). I don't even know how to describe it. I always put different AC music on over New Horizons. Minus a few songs, they're just so medicore. They're so dull. Although 5am gets a shout out.
I love these so much. The cherry blossom variants make every track so relaxing, and it's perfect. It's a shame this was never done for future games, even if the event only lasts a week or so.
If I recall correctly, this event only happens for 3 days compared to 10 in future games, they definitely could've and I always wonder what the New Horizons themes would've sounded like in a style they did for these themes.
I love how all the late 20s and 30-somethings are rejoicing in our childhood together right now in 2023. I miss GameCube games that bring back my childhood/teen years. I'm now playing this music for my baby to enjoy :)
Same here! (Mid-30s, for the record) I put on quiet instrumental music during the day, especially while homeschooling and cooking. Sometimes it's Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, sometimes it's Strauss or Tchaikovsky, sometimes it's mallsoft or vaporwave, sometimes it's bossa or dark noir jazz, sometimes it's vintage swing, sometimes it's a movie soundtrack...we like a variety and it really depends on mood and weather. Today is an Animal Crossing kind of day 😊
Coming back to songs from the GCN era makes me sad because the songs now just aren't as good. The only hourly tune I tolerate in New Horizons is 12 PM. These hourly tunes, I can listen to on repeat endlessly and never get sick of them. Thank you for uploading this!
@AkatsukiMidnightCat A LOOOOOOT of people can't stand NH. I can't remember if my oldest has New Leaf or New Horizons but it's just *not* as good as this. Not by a long shot. And all the villagers are sickeningly *nice.* City Folk was OK though, imo, for what it's worth.
Thank you a lot! I've discovered one of the hourly songs with this cherry blossom version in a compilation video and I didn't know if it was a fan remix or if it actually existed in the game. I can't describe the feeling of discovering 24 more songs of one of my childhood games... The 7AM one just made me feel completed inside. So many memories!! I just want to go back to winter 2004 and catch some bitterlings at night to sell next morning! I really really appreciate your work bringing these themes to light... I was about to put my old game on my wii to check it out myself. My hero!
There are many more music tracks for the GC Animal Crossing than can often be found in playlists and such online. There are different tracks/variants for weather and events that are often overlooked. Thank you for uploading this!
these variations were my favourite as a kid, and being able to have the luxury of listening to them like this is so nice, thank you for your hard work and uploading this!
There were more song tracks in this game than I first thought playing as a kid. It's no wonder this game felt it had heart; they were dedicated enough to add in these details that go over our heads, but are there to make things dynamic. You do not get that at all from New Horizon and it's such a shame.
Yaaaay thank you so much for uploading this I’ve been always looking for the complete hourly cherry blossom 🌸 themes ... and sidenote in my population growing town I had Anicotti and Roald so this thumbnail is perfect 💗
Thank you for posting this!! This is one of my favorite AC mixes to listen to. The cherry blossom tracks are so underrated, imo they make a lot of the hourly themes even better. 11AM and 1PM especially! The composers were so wild for including variants of hourly themes that you'd only hear for like five days out of a single year. They could've just done another rainy day theme but for cherry blossoms. It's insanity.
I feel like the cherry blossom variants don't get enough love. I usually see the snow variants or some other tune like the rain theme or the New Year's Theme. I wanna see more love towards these variants cause something about them really speaks romantic/sweet to me. Nobody asked, but here's my favorite ones out of this list: 7 A.M., 8 A.M., 9 A.M., 3 P.M., 4 P.M., and 9 P.M. I love them all to death, but these six really stand out to me. Small P.S.: Big nostalgia when it comes to these variants cause I fished so much that I found out April was the best month to fish for red snappers. I don't know if this was intentional, but I made some big bucks because of it. There was also a lot of barred knifejaw too, but red snappers were at their peak in this month.
How many hours are in a day? Divide that by 2. The start of the 12th hour is the start of the second half of the day. Transitioning to the second half at 1:00, the 13th hour of the day, would throw everything off completely.
@@CecilCeceRobert My logic: 12pm (midnight), 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12am (midday), 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm 10pm, 11pm, back to 12pm (midnight) It's more logical in my opinion, you start at 1, you end at 12. Starting at 12 then 1 is weird to me.
Your logic still implies that we would be beginning the second half of the day at the 13th hour, which makes no sense. 12 is essentially 0, when everything resets. 1am is not the START of the first hour, it is the END of the first hour. It's like how "19th century" refers the 1800's, not the 1900's. It took place from 1800-1899, and the second it turned to 1900, you are now in the 20th century. The first hour is occuring from 12:00-1:00. At 2:00am we are 2 hours into the day. At 3:00am we are 3 hours into the day. Your logic would instead suggest that at 2:00am we are 1 hour into the day, and at 3:00am we are 2 hours into the day. That makes far less sense than the system that has been in place for over 400 years.
@@CecilCeceRobert I see your point but that's just a human convention. Things could be different but yeah I see where you coming from with your argumentary.
Still my favorite Animal Crossing OST. These tunes are so much more memorable than the ones in New Horizons.

Why does New Horizons' music sound like it's mocking me? Some of the afternoon tracks make me feel like someone is annoyed with me somewhere.

it would’ve been perfect in new horizons tbh for fall cherry blossom and festive season

So cool how they made cherry blossom variant for every hourly track. They didn't have to but they did😊🌸🌸

New Horizons spit in it's ancestors faces. It's a spin off. Although I do like it, but it's not Animal Crossing. No God powers in AC.
100% agree. NH just felt lifeless to me.
