    That's so exciting when you see that first gleam of green of a new plant! I love the shape of the leaves.
    I know nothing about caudex but I'm not surprised that she is upright bc of the name, "Erecta". Maybe she will start to trail once she gets longer. She's lovely.

Misted it once. I like what you did with your caudex by the way...is it necessary to put some marble stones on top? And how deep show I bury the caudex incase i’m going to repot it. Should I use a ceramic, clay or plastic pot? Hope to hear from you. Thank you. Loving the upright growth of your plant. Sooo lovely. 🥰

      @CactiOnWhite  3 года назад +1

      Hi Mae! Thank so much and you for watching and commenting. It will be Springtime before I make another care video for the Stephania Erecta, since mine has been cut back already. If yours has a tiny sprout, you can mist it every couple of days. Please make sure it is sitting where it can get plenty of sunlight. They typically go into dormancy in the Winter, so if the sprout doesn't appear to grow, and if its cold where you live, I would stop watering it at that point. Does it have roots yet? If so, make sure they are covered with soil. I would cover only about 1/2 inch of the caudex with soil. Congratulations on you new baby! And good luck 🤍

      Hi Tina, I’m happy you found the video useful! I cut mine back last winter and new growth emerged during the Spring. But, mine already had roots established. I think you can get the bulb now and even plant it up. I wouldn’t water it more than once per month. And of course, not expect much, if any activity. Keep me posted on what you decide🤍

    Almost all YT videos on stephania tubers show the tuber having only one or two stems. I have 4 stephanias , a suberosa, venosa and hayata. They grow like crazy and have numerous stems. They keep growing longer and longer and the leaves getting smaller. Are we suppose to prune away the majority of the stems , leaving only a few? I keep chopping them off. Bdw, I grow them solely in pure pumice and some in a mixture of "rainbow rock". They are similar to the lechuna pons that is getting so popular. This makes it easier and cleaner when repotting because it is very easy to shake off the pumice or the rainbow rocks.

    • @CactiOnWhite
      @CactiOnWhite  2 года назад

      I grow mine now in a gritty mix. I can’t get a hold of pumice easily and it’s pricey when I do find it😟I usually cut the stems all the way back. But didn’t this year. Hi. I didn't catch your name. The closed caption said Forsythia. Did the close captioning get your name right?
    What would you do in this case? I watered all of my cacti on the 15th. They are in 6" terra cotta pots with very fast draining soil. Well, I thought my sprinkler system was turned off but it wasn't. So on the 16th all my cacti were watered again - all soaking wet that morning. Should I unpot them and let the roots dry out and repot them again? What would you do?

    • @CactiOnWhite

      Hi there! Yes, the closed caption got my name correct😀 What I would do in your scenario is leave the potted, but watch them closely. If possible tilt the pots to remove any excess water. If one starts to look odd, get mushy or beginnings of rot repot or take a cutting. Good luck!

      Le Petite Wears yes, I water it enough that I see the water coming from the drainage holes. Watering 3x per week is way too much for any caudex plant. And you’re right... not a lot of information out there on these guys! I’m no expert, but I’m keeping mine alive🤣 and many other caudiciforms my collection. I am happy you found me too🤍 and always happy to share what I know.

    What are the white stones around her? Is that limestone gravel?

      Hi Darcie, it’s not limestone. They are actually white marble nuggets that I typically get from the big box home improvement stores.

    mine is having yellow to brown leaves. any tips?

    • @CactiOnWhite
      @CactiOnWhite  3 года назад

      The yellow/brown leaves could be overwatering. It could also mean its low in nutrients and needs to be fertilized. If its new leaves are yellow that is a good indicator that its low in nitrogen.

      Hi Joanne, I got it from a store called Tuesday Morning. I bought several on clearance and drilled drainage holes in them. Thanks for watching🤍
