      Just keep them at a humid and warm area, no direct sun though because they can get sun burns 😊

    I have a suberosa that grow extremely fast because I gave it a lot of sunlight. It’s placed in my bedroom with an east facing window. The leaves are as big as my palm and it seems to show growth everyday. I gave it 2 long garden sticks ( 3 feet long) as support but it continue to grow. Finally I cut off all the leaves leaving being short stems. But after a few days, it’s growing again . Too fast for me to handle. I grow it only in 100% pumice and no fertilizer added. I bought it from Shopee Malaysia and growth started almost immediately. It was supposed to be an erecta and I was really disappointed. The seller said that the stephania was from China. I only knew it’s correct name through this video. Thanks. I bought another 2 stephania that turned out not to be erecta. Also from China. And super fast growth and also in 100% pumice with several pieces of pafcal chips. I am stilling trying to find out their actual names.

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  2 года назад

      Yes suberosa are super fast growers, your other 2 if it is also China could be Venosa whereas Thailand have more Erecta and Kaweesakii. China usually have a lot of suberosa and venosa. If they gives out red sap most probably it is a venosa.

    Gorgeous!! What type of soil do you grow them in?

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  2 года назад

      Generally a mix of pumice/perlite/bark + cocopeat topped with some slow release fertiliser
      I don't really have a fixed ratio but generally 40% cocopeat + anything else that is chunky will do ☺️

    Hi, Thanks for sharing your nice collection of Stephania. I have one Stephania Cepharantha. The leaves were looking good when I acquire it. I placed it near the SW window where there is strong afternoon sun. The stems started to grow very long and leggy with very tiny leaves. The initial large leaves were always curled up. What could be the cause? Thanks

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  2 года назад +1

      If the watering schedule is okay, you could also check for pests, when the leaves starts to look unhealthy usually it is attacked by pests. They are spider mites magnet 🥲 just trim them, do a repot with clean porous media and put somewhere with bright indirect sunlight

    Hi, there are some black spots on some of the leaves of my Stephanie erecta...wondering whether I should cut off the leaves

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  3 года назад

      Yes you should! I never have them on mine but I seen some Thai people sharing about it, it's some pests so just snip them off and throw the leaf away

    Hihi would like some consultation on the problems that I encountered on my suberosa. I’ve observed some brownish spots on the leaves’ edge & yellowish around the circumference of the leaves. What could be possibly gone wrong? Is it over or under watering?

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  3 года назад

      hi, i cannot really tell from the way you just described, yellowing could be caused by underwater/ overwater/ heat/ pests, if the caudex is still firm then should be fine. just snip of the affected leaves will do. for extra precaution you could also repot it with brand new fresh media because sometimes the eggs of the pests might be hiding in the media. good luck!

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  3 года назад

      Not advisable if you are in hot country because they can get sunburns too, anywhere bright will do or with morning sun 😊

    What size pot is good to use for these beauties?

    • @Monsterasaur
      @Monsterasaur  2 года назад

      Give a gap of 1-2cm extra from the diameter of the caudex will do. You can go wider horizontally if you like as long as it's not too deep.
      Or use a pot is +-30% slightly larger from the caudex is good enough.
      I usually avoid pots that are too large to reduce water retention to avoid rots

    To the viewers be careful purchasing these if you are foreign to the native land in which it grows. Most of them are illegally poached. Search "poached Stephania Erecta" for more information on how you can get one of these plants ethically.
