I just got this on the July PS4 sale for 5 quid! I'm more happy about saving 20 quid than the route though because after 3 hours of downloading, moving stuff to get the update and then downloading the update and updating it and then finally getting the game to start I still have no idea how to start the damn train even though I wrote down 2 A4 sheets worth of startup instructions! To make matters worse I gave up, decided to go as a passenger just to explore the route, discovered the bar wasnt even open at 12pm lunchtime and then promptly got stuck on a stair texture and had to totally restart! When is Dovetail going to realise there are casual users like me who just want to sit in the drivers seat and drive without having to remember every damn switch and startup sequence for every train? Densha De Go on my PS2 manages it perfectly well and, surprise surprise, I play that far more often! Edit: Thanks to your video I finally got the train to move and only have one A4 page to go through now! Ace!
Great video, thanks a lot! Been enjoying the base game so I decided to get a few DLC's and this was the one I decided to try before bed. I was pretty disappointed when the tutorial just had me get in the train and push the throttle forward, kinda wanted to do something a bit more hands-on. So I both happy and frustrated when I couldn't initially get it going. Thanks for making it clear! I think TSW2 is pretty great overall, but the tutorials really do seem to be lacking. Is it done on purpose? To force you to explore for answers? Having the player get in a train and increase throttle when the masterswitch isn't even on seems silly.
@@B-A-L I believe it was actually the tutorial introducing the route. The given time was five or ten minutes. I get in and the voice says the train is ready, I just need to press forward on the throttle. So I did, nothing happened. Found this video on RUclips to get me going, then the next tutorial turned out to be the same content as this video, actually teaching how to get out going.
Thank you so much for this. The tutorial in the game is hopelessly broken and doesn’t explain any of this. It would have been unplayable if it weren’t for your video.

Good video! One question, how does the safety system works and what you have to do with them? I don't know what happens if I do it wrong so I need help with the following safety system: VACUMA TVM KVB
Vaccma - The bell that rings, just acknowledge it, it's just making sure you're alive TVM - In cab signalling, speeds KVB - Make sure you don't go above the speed limit in the classic lines

I tried this in scenario planner but I can’t get the train to move under DC power. It is fine under LGV and AC power. Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

The earlier tutorials were much more basic, if you try a newer 2021/2 DLC, they tend to be much more informative :)
