It's crazy how SUPER STRAIGHT those continuously welded rails are. Even at 570 kmph the ride is smoother than the bouncy Rocky ride of jointed rails at 120 kmph. And the tracks and overhead lines held up to that.

The sheer power of electric motors. Still cracks me up when people think that an ICE engine would have any real chance against an electric motor. Other than rocket or jet engines, electric motors are the most powerful things we humans can use to move heavy things or make things go fast.

That was in 2007. We know that Maglev systems are able to reach such speeds....but this test was made with a wheeled train, so this is really really impressive, as this speed may cause damage to the tracks and the train itself
Yes, as a child I used to dream of being a transportation designer, cars, trains, etc. Little did I know decades later they would have the " Maglev" train in production. No fuel, no hazardous tanks just magnets to lift you and propel you! Incredible! Start small, test it, if it's economical enough see if nations will buy it and boy, did they ever!!

It is amazing how stable the bullet train rails are. I've ridden the Shinkanseen in Japan more than a few times. You go through a tunnel and your ears feel the pressure change.
Not only the fastest high speed train but on regular tracks, wow this is amazing France, I salute you from Japan!🇯🇵 Soon Japan will premiere it’s Maglev train so far the top speed in test runs are 603kmph.
Those tracks would have to essentially be perfect in co struction. Any kind of imperfection at those speeds would be fatal. It is a testament to French engineering excellence.
Those are not normal tracks and wheels, you can tell they are some sort of alloy designed for those speeds. If you tried that on steel rails with normal wheels, the friction would super heat them both.
I hope these machines never go anywhere, stay right here with us, I don't want to go back to boring nature, no, a animal going slightly faster than us is not impressive, yes, birds can go really fast but that's not a land creature, it's a air creature! Even if these machines weren't here, I still would say animals are no better at running than we are (definitely feel like I would and I hope so), nature is only impressing to me in certain ways and only for some stuff and that's it!!!! Machines are the real fast runners, if only they were created by nature, hopefully they would still be this fast (well, they kinda are, our nature ability that the Creator handed to us to make these machines, animals don't have that special talent, that's why humans are awesome!!!!)

@@dixhnsixj8254 Can you name a route where a train would be faster? even the Accela is slower than a short flight between NYC and DC. Problem is the railroads here are 99% for freight, so any highspeed trains would need to be built on brand new lines, which has a much higher environmental impact than an eco-friendly airplane would. Also, did you notice this is electric? Did you know France is very high, something around 80-90% nuclear power based, so you'd have to convince the eco nuts to let us build nuclear plants so these trains can get power.

The main reason why high speed rail will never work here is that cities are spread too far away from each other except in the crowded coasts. So if we ever got a form of train service like the TGV, it would be very limited and still not as fast since they would need to build a dedicated line just for the passenger route.
