Hello there hope you're all well and coping It"s a good thing you've got these videos to look back on to make lockdown more bearable How did capital city beef compare to the one in Colonia or Argentina all together? Thank you so much Bradley! The quality of beef was on par in both capitals. However, for the time being, it was quite a bit cheaper in Argentina to eat out.
Kia Ora from COVID free, grass fed New Zealand. Kiwis can definitely relate to beautiful Uruguay. Plenty good meat and good legal pot to smoke. I'm surprised that you ate at the Mercado del Puerto! Yes, Don Garcia's is good for the touristy downtown! You paid $50 for the location! My recommendation for Parrilla in Montevideo is La Pulpería. Cheaper, better meat, for the locals maybe. Good move to eat a Chivito!
I wonder why prices are like 3 times higher in Montevideo. Is it just because that place was kinda touristy? Nice vid guys, I'm loving the Uruguay stuff!
Good video. A couple of things that stood out for me: It didn't seem you guys touched the chimichurri or the other "salsas" on offer. As Uruguayans we pretty much eat most of our grilled meats with chimichurri. Particularly the cuts you chose as well as Asado, Morcilla and Chorizo. Also, we never have fries with our grilled meats, it's either a garden salad or ensalada rusa. The Uruguayan ensalada rusa is different to the others I've seen in latinamerica.
Was in the same mercado in February 2020 and it seemed a bit touristy and somewhat more expensive so we didn't stick around. Wish I would have seen your video before then as it pays to find places that might be a bit out of the way and that the locals go to. Not sure what I'd have done with my wife as she's a vegetarian. The salad did look good too, though. As a Canadian, I laughed at the Red Rose reference. Well done.
