    • @Karinna360
      @Karinna360 26 дней назад

      @@mariorico440 It is expensive. But it will depends mostly where you come from to how you will find the prices. For me coming for US, Uruguay is a little cheaper. Hotels are less expensive, Restarants are less expensive and specially tourist attractions are more affordable. If you come for Latin American, you will find everything expensive.

      What is Mate? Are there any health benefits to drinking it?

    • @cindyk3076
      @cindyk3076 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ParisianThinker It is an herbal tea. Drinking mate in many cultures is done for social interaction. Some studies suggest that the tea may have helpful effects on cholesterol, weight loss, the heart, swelling called inflammation and cancer risk. But more research is needed to confirm these links.

      @@ParisianThinkerit is a cultural drink, it is like tea for British people, everybody drinks mate here, it was an aborigen ritual, when Europeans colonized this land adopted that drink,, it is like drinking coffee for Turkish or Italian. There are not enough scientific papers to say if it is really healthy, as it is not a drink widely spread around the world. It is drunk in some places of Argentina,, south of Brazil and Paraguay. But Uruguay is the country that has the highest amount of people who drink it

    Excellent video. I made notes for when I'm there in November. I'm definitely going to find Olga.
    BTW, don't worry about offending anyone by saying "soccer". Different languages have different words for the same thing. That's how languages work. You're speaking American English, and the word is "soccer". If someone wants you to use British English, ask them whether they say "biscuit" for what Americans call a "cookie". "Crisps" or "chips"? "Chips" or "fries"? "Lorry" or "truck"? "Bonnet" or "hood"? ""Boot" or "trunk"? Car park" or "parking lot"? And on, and on, and on.

    Beautiful video. I've always wanted to visit the country, since discovering yerba mate.
    m8 s20 ,,,,,, it's only now that you mentioned it, that I started thinking differently: I too thought that fining people to go and vote was a weird undemocratic thing to do. But, if you think of all the totalitarian regimes the world has been experimenting with (Nazism, Communism, Socialism, Jihadism, Fascism.... to which we're going back...) or if you think back to the Middle Ages... you'll realize democracy (bend and broken, correct) is still the best thing we have.
    So yes, it is Mandatory to maintain Democracy. There has been no other political current that proved to be better than democracy. So we need to continue to be free (or free-er than others), democratic, and work on improving Democracy.
    Fine those who deny the importance of democracy ...since they cannot come up with a better solution anyway..

    • @claudiosanchez764
      @claudiosanchez764 3 месяца назад +2

      Exactly!! As an uruguayan I've always been told that Democracy is as much an obligation as it is a right. And i completely agree, it is a beautiful thing to go vote and exercise you rights and duty. I really dont understand how could someone would not go vote. Even if you don't like any candidates you can show that by voting blank or annulled. It is important to make your voice and opinions heard. I hope you can visit us soon!!
