Congratulations!!!! As a mom of 6….my advice is don’t listen to other people’s pregnancy and parenting advise :) You will know what to do and whatever decisions you make are the right ones for your family. I am truly happy for y’all!!!
Sorta agree. I see advice as an option. It worked for someone so it is at least worth considering. Definitely don't feel like every tip will work for everyone. Every baby is different!
I think that first it has to be Beckys and Joshs decision. And perhaps they decide to a compromise. Some photos or videos (a bit like Josh before the new house) but not a lot. That would be nice, but not too much, but they will have to think about it, we can just be supportive.
I can only hope and pray, my daughter and her husband bought a new home In September they have been trying ever since to get pregnant so far no luck...I hope sometime soon she surprises me like Becky did 🙂

Technically I dont know you and Josh but through your videos we get to see a little part of you and with the new house we are starting to get to see Josh as well. I couldn't be more excited for you both! One word of advice, you mention the different things you have to focus on and that you're not the type of person to do weekly updates, picture...etc. Find a way to stretch yourself from your comfort zone and even if you dont share it, focus on this pregnancy and all the joys it brings. It goes by really fast and it is such a wonderful to experience. I dont want to see you at the end saying 'I wish I had...'

Kristy White I just wanted to thank you as a NICU nurse. As a mother of a baby that stayed in advanced NICU of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem NC. We spend 8 weeks- on 100% 0/2, 12 chest tubes, he had4 on one side and 5 on the other. I watched him flatline 3 times. Today he has graduated from NCSU with 5 degrees and most importantly he is perfectly healthy thanks to the NICU nurses. Thank you.
Becky, as a December 27 baby, here are a few tips: don’t wrap birthday gifts in Christmas paper, make a bday cake without Christmas colors, don’t combine gifts such as birthday/Christmas. Keep each holiday separate and meaningful. But my mom did all the above and I’m not scarred or emotionally wounded, but I would have chosen the above tips. Just something to think about while you go through this exciting season. Congratulations to you and Josh. You both have enough love and sense to bless this baby that God is sending to bless you. ❤️🙏
Yes I agree. My sons birthday is twelve days before Christmas. I never put the decorations or tree up until after his birthday so his banners etc didn’t get lost in Christmas stuff. It was a complete separate day for him. Always birthday paper and separate presents. He’s 19 now and I still do the same.😅
My daughter's birthday is the 21st. We do have the tree up and the house decorated before her birthday but always celebrate separately. It get crazy having 2 birthday parties (one with her friends and one with family) and Christmas gatherings all within a week and a half but it's worth it so she has her special celebration. We might even have a party with her friends next summer or early fall for her next birthday because she really wants to be able to do go carts and outdoor things with her friends. I'll let her decide that. But whatever you do, it will be wonderful and he or she will let you know as they're older of they prefer something different. Blessings to you and your family!
Hey I’m a December 27th baby as well. Happy birthday 🎉I got birthday gifts wrapped in birthday paper however if I got a cake it was usually the left over Christmas cake with candles. 😢 but it didn’t really worry me.
Congratulations to you and Josh! Just one piece of advice, once you and Josh decide on a name, don’t tell anyone until the baby is born! Too many people may know of someone they dislike with the name you chose and your child is not that person! Your child will be unique and their own person.
I have PCOS and am infertile... So it always makes me so happy when my favorite people get blessed with babies. I'll never get to use these, so I have no problem sharing what I would have named my children had I been given the chance. For a boy, I would have chosen the same Sage, (which means wise). For a girl, Eleanor, (which loosely translates to sun). Sending love and prayers for good health for you and baby, and Josh of course! Much love! 💗
You might, like many others whom have shared on social media about their pregnancy, experience some people who will lack boundaries and who will insist on knowing as much as possible about your pregnancy. Please know that setting a boundary to such people is more than ok, this is your pregnancy and not theirs. Loved hearing how you waited to share and allowed the pregnancy to be just for you and Josh for a while. You seem like such warm and empathic people and to hear you have a social network, is wonderful and that will make a lovely home for a child💐 / Scandinavian

You can say "I grew that!". I think about this often when I look at my son. All of him formed inside my belly- just amazing. I have to agree with this- during pregnancy (and after the birth) you will have to give yourself some grace. Its hard having to do things differently than you've ever done them before and it comes with time but please don't be hard on yourself.
@@pineandberryhomestead Grace is a good way to look at that. I am still amazed when I look at my 33 and 32 year old...that we made them and they are such good people! What was sometimes a slog, becomes a blink of an eye...

Edited to say that I immediately cried when he realized what was happening and I am just so happy for you guys. I love that it didn’t go “as planned”. The reveal I mean. It was authentic. 🥺 I am 39 and have a 4 year old boy. I chose his first name, Brant, and his dad chose his second name, Ezra. Brant comes from Joseph Brant a Mohawk military/political leader. We are Mohawk Indian. I didn’t have one moment of morning sickness or sickness of any kind. (I know I got lucky and am not the “typical”.) you guys are going to be so so so good at this parenting thing. I just know it. Genuinely happy.

Congratulations! As a homesteader and first-time-Mum myself, I’d recommend prepping meals for when baby arrives and getting as much of the heavier property tasks done in trimester two when you (hopefully) feel pretty good. Try to think ahead and lighten the load for the first three months of having a newborn. You’ll be tired, but also you’ll just want to spend heaps of time with baby :) You’ll all find your rhythm in time - we’re 18 months in and everything is well - so do your best to just enjoy the ride!

Keep each holiday separate and meaningful. But my mom did all the above and I’m not scarred or emotionally wounded, but I would have chosen the above tips. Yes I agree. My sons birthday is twelve days before Christmas. I never put the decorations or tree up until after his birthday so his banners etc didn’t get lost in Christmas stuff. It was a complete separate day for him. Always birthday paper and separate presents. He’s 19 now and I still do the same.😅
My daughter's birthday is the 21st. We do have the tree up and the house decorated before her birthday but always celebrate separately. It get crazy having 2 birthday parties (one with her friends and one with family) and Christmas gatherings all within a week and a half but it's worth it so she has her special celebration. We might even have a party with her friends next summer or early fall for her next birthday because she really wants to be able to do go carts and outdoor things with her friends. I'll let her decide that. But whatever you do, it will be wonderful and he or she will let you know as they're older of they prefer something different. Blessings to you and your family!
Hey I’m a December 27th baby as well. Happy birthday 🎉I got birthday gifts wrapped in birthday paper however if I got a cake it was usually the left over Christmas cake with candles. 😢 but it didn’t really worry me.

I second this. My younger brother was born on the 15th, and my parents always made sure to keep his birthday and Christmas seperate.
Congratulations to you and Josh! Just one piece of advice, once you and Josh decide on a name, don’t tell anyone until the baby is born! Too many people may know of someone they dislike with the name you chose and your child is not that person! Your child will be unique and their own person.

I have PCOS and am infertile... So it always makes me so happy when my favorite people get blessed with babies. I'll never get to use these, so I have no problem sharing what I would have named my children had I been given the chance. For a boy, I would have chosen the same Sage, (which means wise). For a girl, Eleanor, (which loosely translates to sun). Sending love and prayers for good health for you and baby, and Josh of course! Much love! 💗

You might, like many others whom have shared on social media about their pregnancy, experience some people who will lack boundaries and who will insist on knowing as much as possible about your pregnancy. Please know that setting a boundary to such people is more than ok, this is your pregnancy and not theirs. Loved hearing how you waited to share and allowed the pregnancy to be just for you and Josh for a while. You seem like such warm and empathic people and to hear you have a social network, is wonderful and that will make a lovely home for a child💐 / Scandinavian

You can say "I grew that!". I think about this often when I look at my son. All of him formed inside my belly- just amazing. I have to agree with this- during pregnancy (and after the birth) you will have to give yourself some grace. Its hard having to do things differently than you've ever done them before and it comes with time but please don't be hard on yourself.
@@pineandberryhomestead Grace is a good way to look at that. I am still amazed when I look at my 33 and 32 year old...that we made them and they are such good people! What was sometimes a slog, becomes a blink of an eye...

@@jeangurnee that is true- when we are having a particularly rough time with our almost 4 year old I have to take a deep breath and remind myself I am deeply going to miss this, even the tough stuff. Just take it day by day moment by moment.
The only advice I would give is consistently make your no mean no and your yes mean yes, even when you don’t feel like it. CONGRATULATIONS ‼️

Edited to say that I immediately cried when he realized what was happening and I am just so happy for you guys. I love that it didn’t go “as planned”. The reveal I mean. It was authentic. 🥺 I am 39 and have a 4 year old boy. I chose his first name, Brant, and his dad chose his second name, Ezra. Brant comes from Joseph Brant a Mohawk military/political leader. We are Mohawk Indian. I didn’t have one moment of morning sickness or sickness of any kind. (I know I got lucky and am not the “typical”.) you guys are going to be so so so good at this parenting thing. I just know it. Genuinely happy.

Congratulations! As a homesteader and first-time-Mum myself, I’d recommend prepping meals for when baby arrives and getting as much of the heavier property tasks done in trimester two when you (hopefully) feel pretty good. Try to think ahead and lighten the load for the first three months of having a newborn. You’ll be tired, but also you’ll just want to spend heaps of time with baby :) You’ll all find your rhythm in time - we’re 18 months in and everything is well - so do your best to just enjoy the ride!
Definitely canned meals/freezer meals! So helpful.
I did this by just doubling a recipe to freeze when I made it for dinner that week!

My go to response for unwanted advice was: "Thanks for the input, I'll keep that in mind." Enjoy every single moment! My 'baby' is 27years old and it went by in the blink of an eye.

I knew it when you were craving Costco pickles! Make as meals ahead as you can before the baby - you wont be able to tear yourself away from that precious one. The first three months are intensely magical! Good luck with all the projects and please be careful and calm. Josh seems like he will be a terrific dad!
I sure hope others will pitch in and help make many meals for her especially with all the fatigue and sickness. I say that kindly and because she goes all out for other family members when they are expecting, sick, birthdays, etc. but I’m sure they will. Sweet sweet family and I love watching them.
