I hope this video was helpful! It's all about moving with Pilates in a way that benefits and motivates you to continue coming back to the method. What types of Pilates classes do you prefer?

Reformer has Always brought my body back to strength & mental clarity gently & with less time to tone. It does require my absolute focus &
it brought me back from being disabled.
It lessened my personal bodies' acute fibromyalgia symptoms through commitment to proper form & allowing each function a brief rest in between. I like floor mat exercizes as well to maintain. The mat (for my body) can be more painful for me.

Pilates in the studio is often more “fun”-a lot of the moves feel like you’re at an amusement park (or catching the ball while in motion feels astronaut-like). But from a pure exercise perspective, I can see they’re both very good. It sounds like good form is far more important than mat vs. equipment. Mat Pilates is definitely way cheaper and more convenient.

I have done mat pilates on and off for 4 years. Today I had my first class of reformer and wow it is very different and didn’t feel as hard as I’m used to working against my gravity however my DOMs was insane after the reformer which I didn’t expect!

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's quite common to find the transition from mat Pilates to the reformer a unique and different challenge. It's interesting how our bodies respond, isn't it?

Took an awesome intro reformers class with a fun instructor and signed up for 3 months. 😮Big mistake! Other instructors use anatomy 🤯, talk fast , I can’t engage muscles ??? ❤thx! I love the mat style at home for strength , and I don’t feel like an idiot in class YAY MAT PILATES ❤❤❤

What a BUMMER! And you know what?... while movement teachers often mention which muscles to engage, simply naming them doesn't help activate.
It's great to hear you've found joy and confidence in mat Pilates at home! If you're looking for more variety, be sure to check out our app. It offers a wide range of exclusive classes not available on RUclips and we even have live classes each month as well. trifectapilates.com/membership/

hi - I'm loving your videos - but am wondering if you have a reformer class video online?

I don't offer reformer classes. In both my personal and professional practice Pilates mat sessions have been my focus since 2012.

I’m still trying to define in a simple way what Pilates actually is
Even tho I have done some and read some
To me it seems like it’s about bringing the body back in line with how it’s supposed to work
Our posture /spine/muscles get distorted from poor posture etc
I’m seeing stretching and resistance training too
It seems to have similarities between gymnastics/calisthenics etc
I hear core is mentioned a lot

You're not alone in trying to describe it simply because there are so many different elements included in Pilates. I've found that my understanding has evolved as I continue to move with the system.

Why do classes in a Pilates studio always cost extra? Like in a gym membership?.

    • @trifectapilates
      @trifectapilates  2 года назад +1

Typically in a Pilates studio it is private sessions or small group classes. With this, the prices are very similar to a private session with a personal trainer or small group personal training sessions.

The difference? $1500. You have a mat, bands, lite weights and as a bonus FREE gravity. Some get more than others tho. 😂
