    Very nice unboxing video. I think your train brought you enough beer for ever. Cheers. When comes a Heineken train to Holland ?

      Heineken train - Would be awesome! I did check. It seems that Märklin actually have produced some Heineken freight cars in the past: Märklin 4680 in 94/95. Cheers and hoping for a Dutch beer train ;-)

    Great video - whereabouts did you buh the Lego brick pillars?

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  3 года назад

      Bought the bricks from lego.com using the "pick a brick" where you can buy individual bricks. I made them as described in another comment on this page as follows:
      Base is 4x10 plate 2x2 support pilars and top is 2x8 plate with a 1x2 and a 2x2. The trick is to have 5x2 hole between the 1x2 and 2x2 to hold the C-track on top. Put a support under each place C-tracks are connected. Not the best description will show in a video sometime...
      Enjoy and have fun ;-)

    By the way... It looks like the trailers are made by Herpa? But what does it say under the container? I wonder if Märklin does the containers them selves, or if someone else produces them. And if so, if it is possible to get more containers that do fit the wagons, for example to model a container loading area with stacks of containers.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  3 года назад

      Both the semi-truck trainlers and the interchangable truck loads are from Herpa. As I understand it, the flexibility of the freight car and the different "pegs" will allow for several variations of semi-trailers and containers. Don't have any others to try with...
      Anybody got experience with what semi-trailers and contrainers will fit on the cars?
      Enjoy and have fun ;-)

      Okey, that do sound promising. I would suspect that the "regular" containers that Märklin has many variants of has the same standard/dimensions so they could be swapped between the different wagons the offer. And also promising as I think Herpa has a good selection of containers.

      @@ModelTrainFun I'm already challenged by all this newfangled digital technology I'm trying to get my arms around that I can't get into something else. I've seen LEGO train videos, and that's a totally other realm I'm not ready to conquer. I had LEGO trains when I was a kid, and am totally amazed what they have developed into. However, I like realism, and despite their incredible efforts, LEGO is still LEGO and not to scale models of the real thing. Maybe I'm too serious...

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  3 года назад +1

      Agree - the realism is different, but it's still fun. Nowadays you can also connect the newest trains with power-up to your cell phone and control it directly from there. Lots of fun! Enjoy ;-)

      Ja - det ville have været rart med metal. Men heldigvis er locomotives tungt not til at have god "traction".
      Yes - it would have been nite if the body of the locomotive also was in metal. Fortunately, it is heavy enough to have good tracktion.
      Enjoy ;-)
