I always thought Therons were their own species. Just based on their larger mouth and hissing voice. And what you said about the Theron just being older, matured drones makes a lot of sense. Similiar to an older Gorilla getting a silver back or a male lion with a mane. However, the primary villian in GOW Judgement, Kahn was said to be a Theron Guard, which is surprising he was able to achieve that rank with his disabilities. Which is why I assumed Theron was a sub species and Kahn was just born as a Theron. Great video as always
The Palace Guards the most Elite of The Locust they are so cool looking and their role is the highest of all Locust. Also the hunters were originally given the Torque Bow until the Theron Guards came and then the Hunters were turned into grenadiers.
There’s something about an elite soldier with great marksmanship running around with a comically large knife patiently waiting their turn to swipe at you and your comrades that gets me
The Savage Therons use cleavers because of the lack of access to Locust technology after the sinking of Jacinto. That is also why the Savage Locust use Retro Lancer turrets instead of Troikas.

There’s not much lore on the snatchers, carriers etc. One reason why is because there’s a lot of mystery still surrounding them, I think the best time to do lots of swarm lore videos will be when Gears 6 drops.
I thin Cleaver Therons exist due to the lack of weapons or ammunition caused by the flooding of the hollow. That could have led them to use the cleaver knives to attack

Also, I'd really like to know what happened to therons after the Imulsion Countermeasure, because I heard of 'Locust Kill Squads'. after the detonation.

Theron Elites are DEFINITELY better than the Palace Guards. They are the super elites of the Locust Horde and are the only Locust, other than General Raam himself, who can control Kryll.

RAAM's Elite Theron Guards were a treat to play with in RAAM's Shadow, their Sawwed Off mixed with a Retro Blade was absolutely insane
