I want see theron lore in gears of war
I think that the savage Locusts truly hated the humans more than the locusts under the control of the Queen. I mean the humans flooded the hollows and left them without a home so they must have shown more brutality towards the humans for what they did to them. It explains why we see certain savage locusts like the Savage Grenadier became more aggressive towards the humans i.e. that scene where a savage grenadier rips off the arm of a Cog soldier and beats him with it.
I’ve no sympathy for the grubs
Never realized how high ranked the Theron's were 😮
There was so much I learned about the Locust from this video that makes me wonder why they haven't fleshed out the Swarm in a similar fashion. 🤔

@@KingAbzTV I don’t think Theron is a “rank” really, because there’s still ranks within the therons. Proof of this is in the Rise of Raam comics, where Raam says this to a theron “Keep it respectable Vurl. I know how the Theron speak of me. I still have brothers in your ranks” also the theron that Raam was talking to had a sentinel helmet, which means that regular therons are lower in rank that Vurl. So not all therons are higher ranking than drones, for example Jermad was also a Vurl but then got promoted to a Krav, and Raam and Sraak were both drones yet they were the Uzils of the horde. I guess Theron is a type of elite class within the horde, but not a rank.
Still go down with a chainsaw if you try hard enough.
Gears of war is awesome hands down. Making such a vast and interesting world from both the humans and locusts. The Locusts will always have a special place in my heart for video game antagonists and monsters/creatures due to how interesting and cool their design and lore is. Awesome video man!

The locust may have come off as savage beasts but, when under command of their Queen or high ranking commander, they really showed tremendous strategy and tactics. By emerging from the ground, they could essentially appear anywhere at anytime and lay siege to a city or area where the COG were stationed or moving troops. Along with how, when under Queen Myrrah’s rule, the locust hordes had a singular objective and followed through with it opposed to how conflicts brewed amongst the COG.
Therons are grenadiers you know...
Just older and more mutated
Based on their OG design
Will likely never seen drone Therons in game, but they are out there.
Well it makes sense as they grow older they become more of the next generation
Drones to grenadiers to Therons
Of corse grenadiers are therons it’s a rank
Wish we had drone therons, they can come to be, but the problem is....most drones are not smart and reckless....they were breed from mindless beast and inherited their rage.
The grenadiers would be aggressive in a trained manner
their Offspring/Drones would be aggressive in a animalistic way, drones tend to roar as they get angry.
Grenadiers do this as well, but they tend to make it much more better, aka Battle cry or Screams
To my calculations on drones
45 out of 100s would be smart
Selective breeding would make grenadiers or smarter drones
But selective breeding takes time and hard at times
Inbreeding became the common way in the locust hordes development
That's why the drones resemble more traits of the berzerker then the grenadiers
Aka the drones round face and humanly cheek bones
Not having the unique skull bone structures of the grenadiers
And also, some drones would be taller than their Grenadier counterparts and also have longer arms
Gears 3 locust drones are by far the most strongest and greatest products of imbreeding, Cliffy B would agree to this.
@@Nolongerhereanymore but aren’t grenadiers also drones? I mean it makes sense that therons are older locust because they look different than regular drones. I guess they’re just one type of locust that looks different bc of selective breeding and training, raam and sraak were drones too. So there’s 3 “species” of locust right? Drones, boomers, and kantus.

I think the Brumak was created in the same manner as the locust. Apes were mutated with imulsion creating an “ape sire”. The ape sire was then further genetically engineered to be stable and fertile. Brumaks and Locust being of primate origin are closely related. Hence both species crystallized when exposed to the imulsion counter weapon.

So the Kantus just existed in the Hollow? They weren’t created like the Drones. They just existed underground forever before the Drones showed up?

Also yeah being a huge lore fan I always wondered myself were did the kantus' come from? It seems the kinda retcond them with making ukon seeing as he looks very much like a kantus and probably was the first of his kind.

The backstory behind the Kantus is still up in the air, but what I do believe is that they were an ancient species in the hollow

Imagine if gears of war started using kill streak example. Get 10 kills you get a silverback, get 25 kills you get a berserker. I feel like the coalition have potential to be a great studio if they just use there resources a bit better. Even though I really don’t like the story behind kait Diaz there is so much room in the comics to make a classic delta squad based game and still appeal to old and new fans. Or maybe even a juggernaut mode where a squad has to take down a brumak or a general raam with his kryll shield and whomever kills him becomes the new juggernaut. I need be working at the coalition lmao

I've commented on this before, seeing where Vold rank stands at 0:50, RAAM at Vold rank just casually killing a Locust Drone in the comics makes even less sense. As I said before the Locust are loyal to their own race, very organized hive mind type of deal. So seeing RAAM do this, and at a low rank mind you is ridiculous

Great video, However some of these locust characters are just made up or cosmetic skins in Gears 5 multiplayer. Anyway, Nobody messes with the Theron's.

Well made video with alot of good stuff here with all the gears 2 collectibles and rise of Raam stuff but most of what you said about the worms and Kantus was pure 🧢 lol

EDIT: Ok, I’ve watched the full video and especially the second half covering the tech and beast mastery is excellent. The presenting speculation as cannon still rubs me wrong because people will just run with it as cannon. 95% is all good stuff though.

I think the kraken from gears 5 could be the second riftworm
I personally thought it was kinda small to be a rift worm
The kraken was actually just a mega creature that lived on sera, not a riftworm :)
I really wish "Gears Of War: Tactics," gave us Immulsion-enhanced Boomers. Maybe equipped with a Double-Barrelled Boomshots or something.
