Great video. I just got my cable in a few days ago and am looking forward to connecting it. My setup is very similar to yours except my CRT is a 480P 27" Samsung EDTV. I use the same switcher but mine goes into a Retro Tink 5x Pro as opposed to the FrameMeister. It was almost 2 years ago when I posted my video and I had the same complaint about HD Retrovision. I have no idea what the delay is but their page has never been updated and my expectations were low. Thank goodness for RGC and thanks for the great video. Happy to be a new subscriber!
Thanks and awesome! I messed around with the 5x, but never got one of my own because the framemeister works fine for me
Hi y’all, quick question. Have you tested this with games that don’t support 480p, i own Dino Crisis and I really want to play it but it doesn’t work with My AKURA. Would I be able to play Dino Crisis with this cable if I set it to Interlace mode and use my retro tink 2x pro M. And line double that way? Any help would be great. I have a decent size Dreamcast collection and I want to be able to play all of them without modifying my console.
@@dartvega4796 saddly I don't have Dino crisis to test, all my other games have worked well though
Sonic Adventure lookin nice with them new cables!
Extra crispy
I got an RGC cable and that shit is absolutely awesome. It is incredibly beautiful with a retrotink and a 4k tv
Hellz yea
Setup is wild
Gotta go fast
thank u for the valuable vid :)
Thanks for watching
Might be dumb question but I have the kaico hdmi adapter for my dreamcast and I'm thinking that should be just as good or better than the retrotink component cables? I think it looks terrible on a large 65-77" 4k tvs and would rather go back to s-video on my CRT than that, but I recently bought a small 32" 1080p tv to put next to my CRT and I think the kaico HDMI on a smaller 1080p screen looks the best. Big dreamcast fan so always looking to get the best picture I can with original hardware and don't want to spend the expensive price for this component adapter if its no better than kaico hdmi adapter...
So that is an hdmi "adapter" not an upscale. It literally just converts the signal, which is why it doesn't look great on a big TV. ON the smaller one it looks better because it's not blown up as much. It won't hold a candle to anything that upscales though. That said, each person has different thresholds of what they deem to be good enough, so don't let me tell you it's junk lol.
@@BlipsnPips ah that makes sense I didn’t realize about the upscaling part that’s happening in one cable vs the other. That explains the price difference then also, thanks for pointing it out.
I just have a blue screen when using the cable with a switcher to my retrotink 5x pro. Any suggestions? I don't think it's receiving a signal.
I dont have a 5x, but on my 2x I had to toggle the input button a few times
@Blips 'n Pips Ah ok thanks. Yeah, I messed around with it. unplugged amd plugged it back in and worked
CABLES SO FRESH N SO CLEEN
I never knew Europe has different cables for consoles 😳 just electrical plugs
Yea scart cables look wild too
Thanks
Welcome!
So i somehow missed that xavier woods UUDD belt during the original showcase video. Tell me i didnt know you’re a new day guy
Also - rad cables, component definitely was always the right way to do it.
Well it was purchased by my neighbor, we have a neighborhood game tournament and winner takes control of the belt. They foolishly chose fighting games last time....
Ah haha ok, still cool but my son will be less impressed
It's sad because thats not for all retrocollectors, specially Brazilian ones too expensive and the taxes, dear God, THE TAXES!
Oof, that stinks
You should had turned off the scan line filter.
I said that in the video lol, my bad though
How does component compare to VGA?
For ease of access and use of high quality switcher, component wins hands down. For visuals, they are pretty close
I found an issue already just tested mine. Street fighter 3rd strike no luck on a crt
Dang I only have 2nd impact so I didn't have a chance to find that issue
@@BlipsnPips could just be my tv. Since you are using a tink should be fine
I just get a black screen
@@yanlaw8488 you too? Yeah same here
@@soundsonline796Mines just goes black screen no matter what. Just got it yesterday too.
Who did you bribe to get these cables early?
Lol, they were just for sale on rgc
@Blips 'n Pips great, my order is in so hopefully I'll get them soon!
@@BlipsnPipsthis cable is awesome
Question , i just got a sony trinitron xbr 800 40 inch crt. Would this component cable output 480p though this tv?
I dont know that specific model but if it has component inputs it should be good
@@BlipsnPips its the kv-40xbr800. The manual says it outputs 480p through component, but i wanted to make sure..
I mean, if the manual says it does I am sure it does
