I can't put into words how phenomenally informative your videos are. This was carefully researched, scripted, and presented with incredible visual aids. Your channel has single handedly changed the game. Keep up the incredible work

What game are you referring to that this channel changed? As far back as I can remember all the dope pushers have always given you the first hit for free and you got that, now if you want more your ass is gonna pay. You didn't really think you were going to get an ASE Patch on your shoulder for free from youtube did you? In the next step they'll get all your information before they let you know it costs money for the rest. Personally I despise the sneaky shit and it just does not matter how awesome the course is, if they don't have the balls to let you know up front their is a price then they don't deserve my money. Besides 99.9% of youtubes audience could watch the whole course 3 times each and it wouldn't help you one bit if you took the initiative to try to repair the car yourself. If you need these courses then you have zero skills and if you have zero skills or experience then you didn't notice he didn't give you any knowledge or tips on trouble shooting it or removing it and putting it back in because it is hilarious when a rookie meets the starter and it's grease and lovely location in real life, that is why mechanics are rapists,,,,,because they always have fresh new meat walk in their doors and most people are too dumb to know when they are being screwed anyways. They have not changed the game, they're still playing the sneaky ass snake as always. If they had put " for 25 dollars you can learn everything you need to know about cars" I would gladly give them the money just to have it in my collection for reference even though none of it will help you fix a car if you're a rookie and much of the data was wrong rookie

I ran across this channel while searching for information about my 1999 Toyota Tacoma 5 speed FWD, 3.4 bbp truck. I will share this with everyone I know, since they each own a vehicle. I walking into this video with barely little knowledge and left with a stronger understanding. Great basic information for owners and operators of vehicles to have. Five Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

CORRECTION: From Graham at Wood Auto:
[...] There is pretty big mistake around 8:30 regarding the “400A” sticker on the starter motor. This “400A” is part of the Mazda part number “BPD418400A” not an indicator of its amperage. The underlying starter motor is a Mitsubishi M0T80081 starter and its only rated at 1.0kW not 4.8kW! Below is a link to photos of the OE starter (this has the Mitsubishi sticker on it not the Mazda sticker):
    www.woodauto.com/product/MITM0T80081
You’ll see the side photo shows the rating of the starter.
You’d only really see 4.8kW starter motors on commercial vehicles. To my knowledge starter motors never show an amperage rating, they’d always show a kilowatt rating. Only alternators would show an amperage.

Contents guys! There's a lot in here :)

I bought his whole 20+ hrs course and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. My god, I've never seen anyone explaining things better, more thoroughly and at times funnier than him. The cost-value ratio is unbelievable, this course should cost 10 or 100 times more and it would still be worth it. It's not only about cars, he also explaining fundamentals in electronics (e.g. how a battery works, what voltage and current and power is to understand the car's electronics, etc.). I really love it, it's incredible man!
Note that previously I had no clue about cars or their inner workings whatsoever, but after watching the first few hours of the course I'm seriously thinking about buying a 500 euro car and tearing it to pieces to apply the knowledge hands-on.
Alex, let me tell you this: whatever course you might provide in future (maybe on motorcycles or anything else also not related to vehicles), I'll buy it for sure! You're an amazing teacher, that's a gift. Love it :-)

Magnets have replaced shunt field windings, solenoids are sealed at the cap... (can't rebuild them anymore), reduction gears are in all units these days. Does anyone remember the Auto-lite "clapper" starters used in ford V8's ?? They certainly have changed.... from Lucas units with a Bendix drive.... to what we have now. Great work, keep it up. This is the first (but definitely not the last!) of your videos that I have watched. I'm an electrical engineer by day, and a tinkerer in general in my free time. I need to replace the starter on my 2007 Honda Fit with 300,000 miles on it. I was already familiar with all the principles you presented, but you provided that extra 20% of fascinating little details, in a wonderful, engaging fashion, to make your video very informative and entertaining! Bravo! Thank you!!! I will definitely be back for more!

Terrific in every respect. Clear and confident explanations of the detail backed up by excellent working components modified to aid visibility and, where appropriate, clever graphics. This video could not be improved on. Many, many thanks for the effort.

I have been looking at videos on YT for a really long time now and you are the first I subscribed to. To put it into numbers, in ~10yrs - 1 subscription. This is probably the most intelligent, hard-worked video I have seen till now. I wish YT had a feature like "Intelligent Quotient" for videos too. The 56 dislikes are probably from people who wanted to see a burn-out /drag, etc. I loved your explanation on planetary gears. Keep up the good work. Your videos are better than 95% of junk here on YT (that includes some of the videos i have posted too).

Great stuff. They're not that complicated at all. A while back the starter on my Passat wasn't disengaging properly after the car started. Stripped it apart, cleaned and greased it and it's working like new. Saved a refurb
