Man that's awesome you rode with josh hayes again. People come and go so fast in our lives but to grow that relationship is something special. I'm happy for ya.
Rain mode is awesome in suburbia and other traffic conditions as it softens the throttle response. Street mode is a bit touchy. Still useable but much more sensitive.
Definitely like the keyless gas cap feature. Not sure about the audible when and if you have the cap open for too long. However, that keyless feature is a great touch. 👍
They have the keyless gas cap feature on KTM Superduke Gen 3...a lot of faulty issues with it...a piece of plastic eventually broke off from the hinge part of it and I had to change it to a quick release gas cap eventually. Maybe the build quality on the yammie would be better.
@@luckyleo88 really off putting over complicating basic systems (like a fuel cap). I mean, by all means offer it as an optional upgrade (including keyless ignition, etc). I'm not against electronics, if that floats your boat, but please...!
Wait until it malfunctions and you either can't start your bike or the fuel cap won't open. Your perception of the keyless features will change quickly. It should have been offered as an option by Yamaha..
@@doghous3 Agree 100%. Give me the standard key ignition and fuel cap. I can't believe the manufacturers are making these things standard and not offering them as options that a buyer can choose, if they want them.
MT09 is better on fuel, feels much lighter and more flickable, doesn't run as hot, is a bit easier to ride around town. MT10 is faster, better for touring, more stable. They are different bikes. If one were just outright better then the other wouldn't exist. Depends on what you want out of a bike.
IMO the 2020 MT07 and MT09 were the best ergonomically and aesthetically. I love the MT09 headlights and offset gage cluster. Yamaha ruined it in 2021. My dream bike is the 2020 MT09.
I do not like new gas tank. Previous model have better design, without all the plastic on the top, and useless mesh for "sound expereince". This mesh on the top is not needed. Overal the new shape of this motorcycle is worse in my eyes. Previous model was less angular, better looking. I know that 2024 model is much better for riding, better frame, technology etc. But design is worse. I do not like the front, it does look like a welder mask. Anyway This motorcycle is changing very often, so maybe next year design will be better.
@@DB-sd3cw They should steal some ideas from DUCATI, I will always put on the tier list JAPANESE motorcycle first, but they just need a better design. JAPANESE motorcycles are rockets with amazing technology, bad rather average design. But for sure, Yamaha is trying, and listening to the people. And we can see them trying to create improvements on MT-09. So I hope that one day they will hire the designer who will create a beautiful concept, and this motorcycle will become a gem.
@paulhope3401 My gsxs 1000 hits 150 in 4th gear. A gsxs 750 is almost the same. There's a gigantic difference in top end speed. The triple is a DOG uptop.
Hi there... 2024 MT-09 cost $10,600 | MT-09 SP cost $12,300. Ohlins rear shock, Brembo master cylinder & Stylema calipers, keyless go system would cost more than $1,700 price difference between the two bikes.
@650ib yeah like I said, I'll just get the base that does everything the sp does for less. Especially now that the base has cruise control. The SP is just for influencers flexing.
@@DB-sd3cw SP will have better resale value so you're likely to lose less money over time on an SP over a standard 09. I've ridden both and the upgrades on the SP are noticeable even for street riding, especially the brakes (they feel pretty vague on the standard 09). In most cases, the SP actually makes more sense unless budget is the main consideration.
@Matt7R no it doesn't lmao. At least in the states the standard mt09 is selling used for over msrp everywhere still. We're still in whacky covid pricing for bikes. If anything we'll see the sp sell for less due to the increased service costs of the brakes and upgraded suspension.
@@DB-sd3cw that's nuts - that's calmed down a lot over here in the UK. A 1-2 year old MT-09 is going for around 60-70% retail whereas an SP same age is going for around 70-80% of retail so overall it actually costs less. As for servicing, annual costs work out to be around £150 in the UK for the SP, can hardly see that affecting the value of the bike. If people really took that much notice of service costs then second hand Ducatis would sell for pennies.

Damn I wish I would’ve known this sooner, boutta start doing that anytime I’m in traffic
Don't like the SP paint but the bike is fantastic.
It's a great bike 🦾
I placed a deposit on one of these recently, can't wait!
It’s worth it 💯

Nice one 👍 looking forward to experiencing the 2024 MT-09 SP collecting mine on September 7th, counting down the days.
Congrats Bro!
After riding the 2023 sp a few months ago at a demo event I have had my eyes on this ever since.
Wawwwww it's amazing bike 🫰🏻 love it
After 30 seconds, lifting the fuel cap latch and releasing it causes the cap to be unlocked. Lift the latch again to open the cap.
The placement of that rear reservoir is nuts. Big foot passenger willl definitely scare me
Good seeing with you and riding with you as always man.
@650ib u ever have issues with quick shifter on the bmw ?
Cant find one in stock anywhete man. Been waiting for this bike.
I hope you find one, they're great bikes!
such an awesome bike 😮
Looks like a fun bike!
For some reason this bike is more to insure than my CBR1000RR. We pay ridiculous insurance premiums here in Toronto 🇨🇦
Surely it’s a mistake?
@@jonathanmasterson3100 it was because my CBR is 10 years old and the MT09SP I quoted was brand new. The value is higher on the Yamaha
Stick with my s1k - things an absolute animal . Yo @650ib have u ever had issues with quick shifter on the bmw?
I've never had an issue with the quick shifter on my S1000RR. If you're having an issue, please get it fixed under warranty.
What camera do you use?
Have you ever ride a Z900?
this mt09 is much better they give brembo from factory than r1
isn't mt10 sp better?

I had 23’ MT-10sp and didn’t like the weight, heat, fuel mileage or riding it in the city.
My 24’ 09sp is awesome!😎

I agree. The previous generations had a cool supermoto look. These 4th gens just look like a Chinese 150cc scooter or a cb300r knockoff

The 24’ Street Triple 765 RS is better all around IMHO.
Go ride the new Duke 990 first.

Far from a perfect bike. Its a dog on the highway. Insanely overpriced for the power. Suzuki diddles yam.
