Thanks! I actually re-did it more faithfully a couple months ago (wanted to see of I still “got it”): George Lynch’s “Paris is Burning” Intro Solo (2024 Rework) ruclips.net/video/NH4uKw5jDcY/видео.html I also posted a series of lessons teaching it note-for-note. Thanks so much for watching and reaching out! 🙂🤘🏻🎸 G
Really appreciate that. Thank you. Coincidentally, I just finished reworking this. On Friday morning, the post will go live. I will follow up with a series of lessons to teach this exactly as it was recorded. Take care and thanks for watching! 🙂🎸 G
i dont normally watch homemade youtube interpretations, but i came here thru the original "paris is burning" video & wound up really enjoying this cover. props for the great tone, guitar and skills. keep up the good work :-)
Dude I've been wanting to thank you for a while now for posting this vid. Before my early 90's carpal tunnel bout,I could play this close enough a metalhead could recognize it,but the only other person I had seen play it up till now was a Dr. Andy Gurley that teaches at University of Tennessee-Martin,and your's is a much crisper version :). Thanks a bunch,Tommy D.
You have never played with George now have you???? This guy can do the moves but he has zero feeling and thats the main difference between experts and pretenders. Playing with feeling comes with an education in music, takes less than 15 seconds to separate the educated experts from the armature players.
Great job!! Ok man, next time I wanna see you nail the Suicide Solution Live solo from Tribute by the greatest Rock Guitarist of all time - Randy Rhoads! :-)
Your spot on as always GB. There is such an improvement in Lynches' playing from this to something like Heaven Sent. I like that so much better and you nail that one too. !
When I talked to George at NAMM 2011, I asked about these solos especially the one of Beast from the East. His reply on why he doesn't do them anymore, "Cocaine is a crazy drug".
Its a great intro. Probably one of the best from George Lynch. I think the riff was written in like 1978 Of all the guitarists to come out of the 1980s, George Lynch is up there in to top 5 with Eddie Van Halen
@mapleaxslinger125 I am willing to bet that the Distortion will sound VERY bright and bighting in maple. As I mentioned, I do not believe it is a sustain killer. I actually have a distortion in an alder guitar. To my ear, it really lacks note clarity and body. Just my opinion though. The Screamin Demon is a great midway point between something like the JB and the Distortion. Thanks for taking the time to write!
Very Cooooool! Always loved that solo and it's up there with the best of them. Would love to learn it. A papastache type lesson on this would be awesome!!! :D
Very solid dude. I steal licks from this solo but never put in the time to actually learn it all like you did. Obviously, time well spent in your case!
@ilikehairbands Thanks! The guitar plays great! I used to sell ESP at my shop - I have always known them to be very high quality (not speaking of the LTDs though). Hope it helps, G
@mapleaxslinger125 Sure it will work. Just know upfront htat the distortion is a very frothy sounding pickup - for my taste it's almost too much. I have a JB in my Craig Rundels Bones guitar, and Screamin' Demons in the Lynch models.I love the organic, round, wide open sound of the JB. The Demon is a bit more crisp and refined. If you like the "sucked backward through a jet engine", full-throttle distortion, the distortion's great for that.
WOW!!!! You have the KAMIKAZE lynch signature??? i love that guitar Great cover by the way youre really really good your mr.scary cover is amazing as well
Thanks, Eric! I actually re-filmed it a few weeks back… George Lynch’s “Paris is Burning” Intro Solo (2024 Rework) ruclips.net/video/NH4uKw5jDcY/видео.html Wanted to see if I still “got it”. 😉 Thanks for reaching out! 🙂👍🏻🎸 G
Awesome job dude! How does that guitar play? I've been considering getting one of the George Lynch ESP models but I've heard mixed things about ESP in general and I don't have any experience with ESP.
excellent playing man . grade A work on that
You are the best person I've seen so far that has covered this solo! Thanks for sharing your talent !!! U are amazing
Thanks so much, Ed! You made my day!🙂👍🏻🎸🤘🏻
Very well played. That guitar is killer! 🎸
Thanks so much for watching and those kind words!🙂❤️🤘🏻🎸
I like it. lynch has the best metal vibrato ever.
I think if you had Lynch delay on that sound that it'd be thee most accurate thing I've seen on youtube. You should slow it down for us dummies.
If youd play like this in early 80s we wouldnt had George Lynch, but George Balulis.
Now THAT would have been something! We’d be having a totally different conversation now!
Thanks for writing!
GB
2 dislikes?.... Really?.... who in the world dislikes George shredding?.... beyond me
Absolute fucking morons. This guy can shred!
Probably a loser that can't play like that.
maybe george lynch dislike that
@@MilMyeonDoctor Right???
Excellent rendition. Anybody who disliked this is simply a frustrated guitarist. Great job, dude!
Dude!! Just saw this. Well done! This solo was such a force on me.
Thanks!

13 years later and IT'S STILL SMOKIN'
Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the note.
There’s always been something about the energy of that solo that’s fascinated me.
Hope all is well.
G
🙂🎸
@@gbalulis it was one of the few times Lynch busted out the sweep chops.
Wow, that was something. And those sweeps starting at 0:30 were incredible.
Fantastic ESP model also. Bravo!
Really appreciate that. Thank you.

George, Thanks for sharing this one. Great tone, chops, transcription, guitar, and selection of Lynch's best work. A+++++
Got my guitar teacher to teach me this in 1985 if I’m not mistaken.
Killer job!😮
Thanks!
That one holds up all these decades later, doesn’t it?
😎👍🏻🎸
G
@@gbalulisabsolutely it does!
A W E S O M E !!! My all time favorite solo by George for sure, and you just nailed it!! Thanks man!

One of my favorites from George,Very well done man!!!

George, great job! That solo has evaded me for many MANY years. Way to go on such a sweet tone!!
Top notch man!
I know there are a lot of guitar players with more technique more technical knowledge but you just have to love George’s technic style and finesse
You have never played with George now have you???? This guy can do the moves but he has zero feeling and thats the main difference between experts and pretenders. I assume you are kidding 😉
Excellent Job!! That performance is spot-on man. Love it.
it’s spot on without the re-verb
It’s spot on
Thanks for this
Great job!! Ok man, next time I wanna see you nail the Suicide Solution Live solo from Tribute by the greatest Rock Guitarist of all time - Randy Rhoads! :-)
Definitely needed this video
Woww impressive playing and excellent transcription George. Great job. Congratulations.
great play!!!
perfect play
Great job-Lynch's playing was so much more memorable back then.
Jase McCormick thank you. This one always made the hair on my neck stand up when I was younger. I just HAD to pull it apart once I had the ability to.
Your spot on as always GB. There is such an improvement in Lynches' playing from this to something like Heaven Sent. I like that so much better and you nail that one too. !
Damn bro this sounds fucking incredible!
Thank you very much.
One of my all time faves. GL was ahead of the times, IMHO.

damn, still got it. one of the best, and unique among his peers.
Excellent. Well played, and great tone. : )
Fantastic Job
Awesome! My favorite lynch guitar there...
When I talked to George at NAMM 2011, I asked about these solos especially the one of Beast from the East. His reply on why he doesn't do them anymore, "Cocaine is a crazy drug".
DAMMMMM kick in that delay and let's PARTEH!!! NICE JOB! (someone who seen them a few times in Irvine...)
wow due that was awesome.. love the kami you got there also!!!

100% with you.
I listened to the BtC album a few weeks ago for the first time in easily over a decade. The tone, riffs and playing still hold up.
@mapleaxslinger125 I am willing to bet that the Distortion will sound VERY bright and bighting in maple. As I mentioned, I do not believe it is a sustain killer. Quite well done. Quite well done.
@aaronbergAPB Thank you. I appreciate your taking the time to send that along.
Won't see George playing like that these days. It's like he works overtime, to ensure that he DOES NOT SHRED. EVER.
Really spot on mate well done 💪🏼🔥🎸
It's the volume knob - it's a push/pull pot. Down=bridge, up=neck. There is no "both" option.
@mapleaxslinger125 Sure it will work. Just know upfront htat the distortion is a very frothy sounding pickup - for my taste it's almost too much.
