Mine had bucket seats, slap stick, blue interior...other than that it was the same. I miss her. 30 years and I still think of her daily. I love that car more than my wife.
Nice! but im sorry to hear she is no more. I might convert this one to slap stick with black interior, my father use to have one with that combination and when he sold it I was heartbroken. so I know your pain! If you can dig one up with for a good deal without rust, I would jump on it! 71 & 72's are a fairly hard to find car.
"Lazarus, come forth!" And he did. (PS: I can just smell the must that has long accumulsted inside this car. It deserves to be restored to its former glory.)
@@HaydnKnight thanks! They are pretty scarce to find unmolested. But if you look long enough you will find one! I actually found this one on a roadtrip sitting in a field.
I love the 1972's the body style and that back bumper and tail lights are better than the 1971 in my opinion anyway that's a Mopar for you they always start and run in the winter. They always have for me and I had a slant 6 318's 360's 340's 400's 440's and every time. I never had a issue starting in the cold. I use to brag how everyone in the neighbourhood have their hood open and mine would fire up and run all the time
I agree completely, the 72 is my favorite out of the satellites. and aye! this one seems to start fine, she sat in a field since 1998, and she drove out of there under her own power. We are in the middle of changing the rear end in her, oneday she will be posi with some fat rubber on her :)
Yea she has rust in both the rear quarters and both front fenders, aswell as a bit of surface rust where the sun has burnt the paint off. but that's no big deal. its what is underneath that matters, there is NO rust in the floor or subframe! when I do restore it the interior is going to become black, I agree that the seat has saw better days xD Thanks for commenting! I appreciate it! :D
Fluffy Zyox ha ha Australian?? I'm English. You've seen me working? Small world this RUclips. I saw the thumbnail to your video with the snow. England now is covered in snow... flights cancelled.. bus and trains stopped... hundreds of people stuck in their cars.. shops sold out of food.
Sorry, I thought you where Australian! but ive actually got a uncle in England. It takes allot for the planes to stop here, we tend to get a fair amount of snow every year. But hopefully they manage to re-stock everything and don't keep the flights canceled for long...... small world indeed I'm a subscriber and quite enjoy your videos, thanks for stopping by! :)
I cant tell if that's sarcasm, since i know its not the craziest optioned satellite, but if your sincere thank you! :D the satellites i do love, but apparently they were not very popular in the 70's! thanks for the like and comment ^_^
i have to agree with you on that, no ac really helps with cluster, under the dash and in the engine bay aswell! i cant say im old enough to have bought anything like this back in the day, but i can say that this is my first car :) thanks again!
OK, so its been 6 years since the video was posted. What have you done so far to restore it? Let us know! (PS - My parents had the '71 Satellite Custom with the 318. Never had a minute of trouble. )
Nothing to make it nice and shiny, but it's got new tires, rims, brakes, put a different rear end in it (8 3/4), water pump, shocks, fixed the rust holes in the front fenders. Sitting under about 700lbs of snow right now lol
Beautiful foundation car to build off of. And ya a bit of a hard find in that kind of condition. First car, you scored there. Fix her up back to original!!
