Wow this is incredible, and you make it look so easy lol. this is real helpful because me and my friend are making a combat type game and a lot of these tips I could definitely apply to swords. Very useful tutorial, and if any of my friends get into blender I’ll definitely have to show them this 👍
Wow! Huge thanks on your energetic feedback. And glad I could help. After you finished your models, feel free to send their image files to my email and I share them in the future videos! my email: kamsamnida93@gmail.com
How would I go about mirroring the back of the blade? Yes we did the front of the blade but the back is just a huge gap. Other than that this is the first time ive been able to finish a tutorial on blender with the same result show in the video.
He used the same mirror modifier that he used to mirror the left side of blade. You just need to select the z axis in the mirror modifier panel. If there is gap in the mirrored parts or they are intersecting, you just need to fix the center of the blade on z axis (same way as he did for x axis when he first used mirror modifier). Or you can manually select the intersecting vertices and move they little away from the object center point as he did at 23:50.
Sorry for answering a little bit late! Make sure the scale of object you're using is correct and applied. Hit Ctrl+A and then apply the scale It'll work I suppose.
The Hotkey for scale is "s" select the object, press "s" and with the mouse moving up and down/left and right scale it. If u want to scale in one axis after pressing "s" press one the axis "x-y-z" Hope it will help.
